Labeling myself

I’ve never been attracted to men. Or, rather, not in the same way as I feel towards women.

I’ve identified as a lesbian since I knew the word existed and got what it meant (since I was around, twelve I think?), yet I don’t exactly fit under the label, because I do have somewhat of an attraction to men.

It’s not really often, but sometimes I see a dude that is the same type as my type of girl (lol) and I feel that little thing, yet I have no interest in pursuing things. It’s… only sexual, or rather, biological. I can only picture myself having sex with a man for conceiving a child. I fall better under homoromantic bisexual but… dangit, that’s too complicated. I don’t need that. It was hard enough for me to accept myself as a lesbian or even as someone who experiences sexual attraction. And I don’t like labels either. They’re good at first because you put a word on how you feel, but in the end you notice you don’t quite fit either.

I think I’m not going to label myself anymore, and actually, there’s no real need to do so. It’d be a thousand times better if everyone just… was, rather than put themselves in boxes and adding not-that-necessary words. Communities, in my experience, are more toxic than they are nourishing, and I just prefer to stray off on my own. I can’t relate to the LGBT culture either. But that might be because of something else, not my sexuality. Of course I relate to the various struggles, but just… not the rest.

I’m just a woman who likes women and who sometimes has the biological urge to mate with a male.
