I accidentally deleted @seventysevexy ask bc my tumblr was acting weird but they asked for a fluff 47 x reader blurb so here we go!! (Mostly GN)

“So you've never been to prom? No parties? No highschool? Nothing?”

47 stared off into space for a moment, his lips pursing in thought. Even though from time to time his memory about his past was a little fuzzy at times he's pretty sure he would remember a prom. Even though he just learned what it was about ten minutes ago. Eventually his eyes met yours again and he shook his head, a wordless no.

A good part of you wasn't surprised, but you were still shocked. You had assumed that they would have some kind of high school but in all honesty it didn't surprise you much that they didn't. You hummed in thought for a moment, nodding slowly as you returned back to laying against his side. His arm wrapped around you as your head laid against 47, a million thoughts running through your head about how to give him a prom like you had.

A laugh erupted from you as you basically dragged 47 along, him resisting a little since you had insisted on putting a blindfold on him. Your heels clicked against the floor as the two of you walked, your arm intertwined with his to guide him properly. He had tried to ask you multiple times why you were so dressed up, and of course where you were leading him but each question was met with a simple “You’ll see" and a laugh.

When you and 47 arrived to where you were finally leading him you took off his blindfold and let him scan the room for a minute before you grabbed his hand.

“I know it’s not perfect but…”

Your arm gestured around the room, the lights were dimmed along with some colored lights flashing from time to time, a table laid out with some snacks and a couple drinks. There were only a few people in the room, which wasn’t overly big but not that small either. The only people 47 recognized was Diana and Lucas, a few familiar faces from your work. Everyone knew that 47 wasn’t bug of huge social functions so you wanted to keep it small.

His silence had worried you, did he not like it? He knew what it was, right? 47 had pulled you out of your thoughts by squeezing your hand. He had a small smile on his face as he whispered, “thank you”

Any negative thoughts you had quickly subsided, a grin spread across your face as you squeezed his hand and dragged him along the room to start dancing to whatever was playing.

It’s safe to say that you and 47 were the royalty of that night.

Years ago, when I was’t even a teen yet but I thought I was “too mature for that”, I told my mom I liked a series (it was Digimon Tamers), and I was obsessed with a character in particular (it was Impmon).

I felt ashamed because I thought it was “too childish for someone my age” (turned out, Tamers was anything but childish, but that’s another story).

I was then that her and I had one of the most heartfelt conversations in my life so far:

My mom: “Do you enjoy the series/character? Do they make you happy?”

Me: “Well, yes.”

Mom: “Does liking them hurt/harm you in any way?”

Me: “No, what a question!”

Mom: “Does you liking them hurt/harm anyone else?”

Me: “I really don’t think so.”

Mom: “Then why should you feel ashamed? As long as you enjoy something that makes you happy and it doesn’t hurt/harm anyone -yourself included-, then you should just ignore everything else and enjoy what you like”

You know what she did next? She sat right next to me everyday to watch the series with me… and she adored it! The series and the very character I loved! Still to this day, Impmon remains one of her favorite characters.

Now I’m 27, I have my own life, I’m obsessed with lots of new series, and my mom still sticks true to what she said years ago.

So fans -of ANY AGE, of ANY SERIES-, if you ever feel ashamed for liking something, remember:

ENJOY WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY, AND SCREW THE REST OF THE WORLD (as long as you’re not doing anything harmful to it)
