remembered this headcanon and need to share it: I think creepers are some kind of fungus and/or plant? I think canonically it’s a plant but fungus is creepier so I’m saying fungus. anyway they reproduce when they explode; the explosion is multipurpose. it’s a trait they evolved to wipe out competition for resources and to protect other creepers from dying by exploding themselves, true, but also when they explode it spreads creeper spores everywhere, which will then grow into new creepers. therefore. creepers is a fungus.
