Siraj (@siraj2024) has shared his story with me, and he'd like me to share it with all of you.

Since the start of the genocide in October, Siraj and his family of 5 (his wife and 3 kids) have been displaced 6 times. Like many other Gazans, they are now living in a cramped tent without basic necessities like food and water. Conditions in the area are unhygienic, and the collapse of Gaza's healthcare system means that if they were to become sick, they likely would not be able to get treated. His children are unable to attend school because of the genocide, and instead of learning and playing as they usually would they now spend their time doing difficult tasks, like walking long distances to get drinking water.

Because their home was destroyed in airstrikes, Siraj began his GFM to cover the cost of rebuilding his family's home. He and his wife want to repair the damage that was done to their lives and their children's lives, and the first step is building their home again.

Siraj's fundraiser is new and it is legitimate, but it is extremely low on funds with only $100/82k (CAD), not even 0.5% of their goal. Details about Siraj's campaign

First: The campaign goal:

The amount is 80,000 Canadian dollars = 60,000 US dollars.

Second: How will the amount be spent if the goal is achieved:

40,000$ for construction of the destroyed parts of the house and finishing and restoration work, as the infrastructure is completely destroyed.

15,000$ to furnish the house and buy property, as we left under bombardment and the Israeli army prevented us from taking anything from the house’s property and stole it.

5,000$ is a transfer commission to Gaza, where there is a stifling economic crisis as a result of the war and difficulty in providing liquidity.

Third: What if there is an increase in the amount?

I will teach the children, as they were deprived of their education for a whole year.

I'm posting on behalf of Siraj and his family, in their own words as well

The story began when the Israeli army made a ground entry into Gaza and destroyed all the homes in the area where this family lived, which led to the bombing of their home, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.

The family was displaced to five places, where they saw all kinds of suffering, from Israeli attacks to starvation and famine. There is no safe place in Gaza, and the last place was the tents in which they lived in an unhealthy and dangerous situation due to the accumulation of piles of waste and the spread of diseases.

Siraj's children live with sadness and pain when they see students of their generation going to take the end-of-year exams, finishing their educational journey, achieving their dreams and living new experiences. A year of their lives has been wasted and without any achievement. They lived this year in fear of bombing, and in misery and hardship among the tents.

This picture is of their little boy, Muhammad, in a state of depression and extreme sadness over the difficult reality they are living in.

According to Siraj “This water comes to us with the taste of diesel or cooking oil, and if you expose it to the sunlight, you will see white or black objects swimming in it. Or its color tends to be yellow, but there is no other, and everyone is forced to drink it, otherwise they will die of thirst.”
