Dance of the Heart

“Hurry up, we’re gonna be late!”

Y/n ran ahead of her toon friends, weaving her way through the crowd. Today was the first day of the Namahadi Fire Festival, and she was not going to miss it for the world. She only learned about it this morning when Lucy brought it up at breakfast with everyone. Ever since then, Y/n has been ecstatic all day.

She reached the front of the crowd; a small podium was in front of everyone. King Modi took a stand on the podium and began to try to gain everyone's attention. Y/n was bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited for King Modi’s speech to start. She turned around when she heard panting and racing footsteps behind her. The toons finally caught up to her in the front.

“How are you so fast for a human?” Oswald asked, slightly out of breath.

“No idea, but I’m so excited! I can’t wait to go look around!” Y/n was enraptured.

“Yes, there are supposed to be games, rides, and event tents here.” Felix informed the group, not seeming to be phased by all the running.

"Ugh, I hate those tent things; they are always so boring.” Cuphead complained, like normal. Mugman flicked his arm.

“Be nice, Cuphead; we should be grateful we are learning about Welkin and the offlands.”

“Ooh yes! We should always try to know most of the places we are in and things about them." Panchito agreed almost cluelessly.

Ruck, Meek, and Don weren’t interested in the Namahadi Fire Festival at all and opted to walk the town while it’s almost deserted.

Bendy was somewhere with Lucy, probably getting ready to oversee the festival.

Donald stayed back at the castle with Spunk, not interested in any of the festivities.

“Does anyone even have a clue what a ‘Namahadi Fire’ is?" Cupehad began in his sassy tone before being cut off by King Modi finally speaking.

"Hello, dear citizens and visitors of the Welkin Kingdom! I am proud to announce that in this year of the Namahadi Fire Festival, we are welcoming a descendant of our greatest warrior, who was also one of my dearest friends. Y/n Vendolez, great granddaughter of Hector Vendolez!”

Y/n’s eyes widened; she didn’t know she’d be addressed today, especially not in front of this many toons and humans. Her cheeks burned with embarrassment, not liking the attention. Modi looked directly at her as he continued speaking about her. She finally calmed herself when Modi started talking about Hector and the things he did.

“I am honored to have a descendant of Hector Vendolez here, and even more honored to learn she is a part of the Book of Vida, just like him. Hector had told me he talked to the greatest mage in all of the Off-Lands just to see who his heir would be. He would never stop talking about how happy and grateful he was that he would have a great granddaughter who would take on his role as the human in the prophecy. He would be thrilled to know what a great job she is doing at upholding his legacy.”

Y/n’s mind instantly flew to the memory of getting beat up by Stinks. She cringed slightly, wrinkling her nose.

“Now with all of that out of the way, let the festivities begin!” Modi welcomed graciously.

The gates for the festival opened, toons and humans of all sizes, shapes, and colors raced in. Y/n, oddly with how energetic she was, walked slowly, making sure she kept pace with her friends. They entered through the gates, gazing around at everything. Mugman had an iron grip on Cuphead's arm so he wouldn't run off.

“So where to go first?” Oswald asked, ready to explore.

"Well, I think it would be fine if we all split up, we can all meet back at the entrance at 3 PM, right?” Felix requested.

“Sounds good. What time is it now?” Mugman piped in. Y/n checked her phone for the time.

“9:04 AM”

“That should give us plenty of time to do whatever.” Felix calculated. “Well guys, have fun!” He wandered off immediately after that.

“Oh- ok, welp, I’m going!” Y/n informed the others as she turned and walked off.

“Wait up!”

Y/n turned around to see Oswald bounding towards her.

“Can I come with you?”

“I don’t see why not.” Y/n welcomed him to join her.

The duo walked throughout the festival until they reached the games. Y/n looked around and was in awe instantly once she caught sight of an odd plush. It seemed to be mixed with a duck and a bear. Whatever it was, she was determined to get it.

Oswald noticed she had stopped walking with him and was walking up to a booth.

“What are you doing, Y/n?” He asked kindly.

“I am winning myself a prize.” She spoke with passion as she pointed to Beck, the name she chose for the Bear-Duck hybrid.

Y/n handed the operator of the game a five dollar bill; it seemed like one of those generic carnival games. She had to chuck a baseball and knock down three milk jugs. Y/n was determined to win this prize, and she was not letting anyone stop her.

Oswald stood beside her as he observed her fiddle with the ball. He watched her move it around in her hands, getting a good feel and grip. She slowly got into a pitcher's stance and launched the ball.

It flew rapidly and hit the milk jugs at full speed. But instead of knocking them down, it bounced off and came flying back towards Y/n. She dove instantly out of instinct. The ball flew over her head and just so happened to crash into a toon's head behind her. She looked in horror as the toon turned around, turning pure red like in all the shows, with steam coming from the toon's ears.

“Oh- Hey, Stinks..." Y/n chuckled nervously as she cowered, still crouched to the ground.

The skunk toon looked down on her, seething. Nothing but pure blind rage filled his eyes. He was less than a thread away from giving her a long and painful death, and that’s an understatement.

Y/n stood up slowly and reached for Oswald's arm, not breaking eye contact with Stinks. Once she got a grip on Oswald's forearm, Y/n booked it. She was dragging Oswald behind while she ran through large crowds and groups. The screams and yells of anger flew from Stinks when he chased after them.

The two bolted around the entire festival. Y/n looked at Oswald, and he looked at her. The two laughed in joy from the chase.

Suddenly, “UFF-“ ,Y/n crashed into someone and flew backwards. She fell about 6 feet away from the other person, letting go of Oswald’s arm as she fell.

She rubbed her head, trying to orient herself. Y/n’s eyes shot open as she heard a familiar voice.

"Hey, watch where you're runnin- Y/n?”

“Oh! Hi, Bendy!” Y/n stood up with the help of Oswald.

"Hey, Bendy,” Oswald piped in.

“What are ya two doin’ runnin’ ‘round here?” Bendy asked, curious as to why he was basically attacked with a body.

"Well, umm... it's a long story, so no need to talk about it!” Y/n sweatdropped, trying to cover up her recent encounter.

“She hit Stinks with a baseball.” Oswald filled in nonchalantly.

“Oswald!” Y/n shouted embarrassedly.

“You what?!” Bendy was shocked for a second before bursting out in laughter. “Hahaha! You- Hahah! You hi-hit Stinks with a-hahaha! Base- ball!” Bendy was about to double over in laughter. He had his hands on his knees, and his head hung low as he kept trying to catch his breath before bursting into laughter again.

Y/n looked around some, getting on her tiptoes to look over the heads of some toons and humans. "Hey, where’s Lucy?” She finally asked after not spotting the princess anywhere nearby.

“Gal told me to go ahead and look around, surprisingly. She was yappin with Modi.” Bendy finally caught his breath and stood up straight. “So what’cha doin’ now?”

“We were just gonna keep exploring like before.” Oswald filled in, shrugging.

“Mind if I tag along? Cool.” Bendy answered before either of the others could have a say.

“Wha- uh ok," Y/n stuttered, not expecting to even want to join them.

The trio went on their jolly way, walking past many tents and games. Many toons and humans moved out of their way out of respect for the prince, the Vendolez, and their friend.

Finally, after walking for ages and having many leg cramps, they reached the section of rides and fun houses.

“Look at that, a mirror house! I’ve never been in one before; my mom always said they were ‘too shady’.” Y/n pointed to a mirror house not too far away from them.

"Well, let’s make it your first time today.” Oswald offered with a smile.

“Seems fun,” Bendy muttered as he followed them to the mirror house.

Once the three reached the entrance, Bendy turned to Oswald and Y/n. A devilish smirk flashed across his face. "The last one out has to buy lunch.” And with that, Bendy dashed into the mirror house.

“What?! That’s cheating; you got a head start!” Y/n shouted, chasing after him.

“Don’t leave me behind!” Oswald called with laughter, running in there too.

Y/n caught glimpses of Bendy in the maze; he almost looked like he was dancing around them with how smooth his movements were. It made sense, though; he was a toon and an actor who had to dance, not uncommonly.

Y/n, on the other hand, wasn’t doing the greatest. Being her first time, she would obviously be bad. But this... it seems impossible to be this bad at a mirror maze unless you're a toddler. She’d crash into almost every mirror there is, which had to be painful at this point. She wouldn’t lie when she said that she wanted to collapse. Oswald caught up to her easily. As he ran past her, he turned around and stopped in front of her.

“Need help?” Oswald chuckled, putting out his hand for Y/n to grab. She looked at him with a smile. “Yes please.” Y/n took his hand, and he led her through the maze.

When they reached the end, they noticed Bendy was talking with someone in the distance. Looking closer, Y/n saw that it was Lucy.

Lucy was rambling on about who knows what with a close-eyed smile. Bendy, who’d normally have an exhausted expression, was listening intently and looking head over heels.

Y/n didn’t know why or what caused it, but she had a sudden, queasy feeling. She noticed how her fists were clenched tight. Y/n had to remind herself to relax. She looked over to Oswald, who was looking in a different direction. He seemed to be having a non verbal but a mouthing conversation with someone nearby. Y/n looked to where Oswald was mouthing; there was Panchito. He wasn’t too far away, but far enough that a shout would have average volume.

“What’s he saying?” Y/n asked, looking back at Oswald.

Oswald glanced over to Y/n quickly. “He's asking me if I want to walk with him, I think."

“Ooh,” She dragged out the ‘o’, nodding slowly and looking around. “You can go if you want. I don’t mind at all.” Y/n smiled at him, reassuring him that it’d be okay.

Oswald's expression was screaming hesitancy; he looked between Panchito and Y/n before nodding slightly. He began walking over to Panchito, the two smiling when they reached each other.

Y/n smiled more at the sight. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around, seeing Bendy behind her.

“Heya toots, where’s Oswald goin’?”

“Oh, Panchito wanted to walk with him, so he left.” She filled in.

“He just left you?” Bendy asked, looking shocked.

“Huh? Oh no, I told him he could go if he wanted.”

"Ooh, alright then. So it’s just us?”

“What did Lucy want?” Y/n changed the subject. For some reason she didn’t understand, she was curious about his love life.

“Nothing much, just sayin’ something ‘bout practicing for the wedding tonight.” Bendy brushed it off with a shrug. She felt like he wasn’t telling her everything, but who was she to accuse her friend?

“Well, I guess I owe you some lunch?” Y/n checked her phone. 11:53 AM already?

“Yes. Yes, you do.” Bendy answered, his head held high and in a cocky tone.

Y/n chortled quietly. They both began to walk towards the food stands, discussing what they should get.

“You need something more than that.”

“Don’t tell me what I need to eat; you don’t even eat.”

"Yes, I do! Just cause I’m a toon doesn’t mean I’m invincible to starvation.”

“Whatever. I’m getting fries and a slushy for lunch.”

Y/n was trying to convince Bendy that fries and a slushy were just fine; she wasn’t that hungry anyway. Lucy always made sure they were stuffed at breakfast. The two continued to banter back and forth until it was their turn to order.

Y/n forced Bendy to be the one to talk if she gave the money. She did not want to talk to a random person today. They saw that the attendant was a teenager, probably younger than Y/n, who looked like he wanted to get flung into the sun rather than be here. This made her frown a little, but she didn’t dwell much on it.

After waiting around 5 minutes, their food arrived. Bendy had gotten just a slushy, and Y/n had gotten her delectable fries and slushy.

The duo walked to a nearby bench and sat next to each other.

“Wait, what flavor did you get?” Bendy glanced to her when he asked.

“Oh, blue flavor.” Y/n responded in between fries.

Bendy gave her a look that read, ‘Excuse you?’

“What did you say?”

“Huh? Uhh, blue flavor? What’s wrong?”

“Y/n”, Bendy let out a long exhale, “blue flavor? Do you mean Blue Raspberry?”

“No, I mean blue flavor.” She stopped eating, squinting her eyes at him.

“Blue flavor doesn’t exist.”

“Uh yeah. It does. I’m drinking it right now.” Her tone became more defensive.

“No, you’re drinking blue raspberry.” Now he was squinting with his pie cut eyes.

"Nuh, uh, it’s blue. So it’s blue flavor.”

“That’s not how it works-“

“I’m sorry, have you ever seen a blue raspberry? No, I didn’t think so.” Y/n sassed him.

“That’s not the point-“

“It’s exactly the point!” She cut him off.

"Ugh, you’re impossible.” Bendy groaned.

“You’re just too involved in society. I like being out here; it’s like a big break from life! Other than you know, having to fight for my reputation, being bullied by a skunk, and still probably being hunted down.” Y/n leaned back on the bench, shivering slightly at the thought of Pib still hunting her.

“Yeah, it’s nice out here.” Bendy sighed dreamily, going into a fantasy.

Y/n looked over to his lovesick expression, fighting back a small gag. He was obviously thinking of someone he loves, and anybody would have figured out it was Lucy he was thinking of.

Y/n let out a silent sigh, looking away from him. A feeling of resentment filled her gut. Her jaw tightened, losing her appetite.

“I think I might walk on my own for a bit. Sorry,  Bendy.” Y/n stood up, not looking in his direction.

“Huh, what? Why?” He looked at her with a slightly shocked face.

“Nothing against you, obviously!” She reassured. “I just want to be on my own for a little while.”

"Oh, that makes sense; alright, well, I’ll go find Lucy, cya.” Bendy stood up and gave her a small wave of goodbye before walking off to find Lucy.

Y/n gave him a small wave back, muttering “Bye.”

‘Of course he wants to go to her.’ Y/n thought bitterly. She began walking back to the games section of the festival.

After arriving in the section alone, she found herself in the same area where she and Oswald ran from Stinks. Y/n looked around for a bit, finding an interesting game nearby. It didn’t seem too difficult; just spray a water gun into a target and try to get the water to the top first.

“Might as well give it a shot.” She mumbled.

Y/n walked up to the booth and laid a $5 bill on the counter. The operator pointed to a water gun close by. She sat down, aimed, and pulled the trigger. Water spewed out and hit the target, but after a hot second, the water changed direction. This confused Y/n greatly. What was going on? She didn’t change her position, did she? No, was it wind? No, there wasn’t any of that either.

Y/n looked around in confusion until she saw the operator snickering at her. Y/n’s eyebrows furrowed, and she straightened her back. Fine. If the operator found this funny, she would just have to win. Y/n saw that the water gun was not shooting water any more but simply dripping. She sighed and placed another five dollar bill on the counter. The operator snatched the money and clicked a button. Y/n’s water gun spit out water once again.

She did the same as before, but this time she planned out the directional change. Once the water twisted, she followed its movement with her gun. The water rose higher up in the transparent tube, but once the water reached just under œ way, it stopped. Y/n looked at her gun; the water was shooting much higher than before. What was going on?! She let out a mix of a groan and a yell when the turn was over.

Y/n reached into her pocket and pulled out another $5 bill, knowing she was going broke just in spite of the operator. What she didn’t expect was a similar voice to come from behind her.

“Need help?”

Y/n turned around, spotting a similar ceramic.

“I don’t need your help.” She stuck her nose up in the air.

“Really? Because it sure looks like you do.” Cuphead smirked, fighting back a laugh. “Here, move over.”

“Fine.” Y/n stood up out of her stool to let Cuphead take her place. He quickly sat down and slammed five dollars on the counter. The operator took it with a smirk, not confident in Cuphead at all.

Once the water gun started again, Cuphead moved it in a calculated manner, like he knew which trick came next. After less than a minute, the bell was dinging, signaling that they had won the game.

“So, do you admit you needed help now?” He looked at her with an expectant expression.

Y/n tapped her finger to her chin, pretending to think. “Mmmm, no.” A smile graced her features.

“Here’s your prize.” The operator grumbled, handing Cuphead a plush dog. It oddly resembled Spunk. Cuphead took the prize and held it out in front of Y/n.

“For you, doll.” He smiled goofily.

“How sweet of you.” She took the prize gently; it was a medium sized plush, just a little bigger than her head. Y/n tucked the plush under her arm and took out her phone, checking the time.

“Shoot! It’s already 2:49 PM; we have to hurry!” Y/n exclaimed anxiously. She put her phone away and held onto the plush in one hand, grabbing Cuphead with her other hand and pulling him with her as she ran.

They weaved throughout the crowd, trying not to accidentally trample on any grandparents or children. Y/n had a feeling of deja vu from running this way earlier with Oswald, trying to escape Stinks and his wrath.

“Do you even know where you’re going?” Cuphead shouted to her as they ran.

“Not at all! But I remember some little landmarks here!” She called back to him, noticing the familiar homeless guy from earlier.

“AUGH-“ Y/n tripped over herself and was sent tumbling into another body. Deja Vu was really hitting on her now, huh?

The two bodies rolled over each other before coming to a halt. Y/n was on her back, eyes clamped shut, groaning from the pain of the sudden impact. She felt a shadow cast over her, and she squinted her eyes open. Panchito was standing over her.

“¡Hola, querida! ÂżPor quĂ© estabas corriendo? ÂżEstĂĄs bien, cariño?” Panchito rambled, grabbing her hand and helping her up. Once she was on her feet, she noticed everyone else was there.

"Oh, uh, hey guys.” She gave a small wave and an embarrassed smile. Looking around more, she saw Felix being helped up by Oswald.

“Oh jeez, Felix, did I run into you? I’m so sorry! Are you alright?” She panicked, scared he might be upset at her.

"Yeah, it was me, but don’t worry! I’m a-ok.” He tried calming her worries, which worked. Felix had this calming effect on her, and she wasn’t sure how.

“So, why were you two running?” Mugman piped up.

“She was worried we were going to be late to meet you guys.” Cuphead filled in.

“Speaking of which...” Y/n trailed off, pulling out her phone to check the time. “2:59 PM! Right before 3 PM!”

“Gotta give ya that; you rush when you're panicking.” Bendy pointed it out.

“All for the greater good.” Y/n crossed her arms.

“So,” Oswald clapped his hands together, “what now?”

The entirety of the group looked over to Felix.

“Uh- go back to the palace." Felix’ voice was wavering.

“Sounds good to me.” “Yeah sure.” “I’m tired anyway.” “Why not?” “Please.” “I’m ok with that.”

They all agreed, making their way towards the exit. When they were walking, Y/n was looking around, wanting to take in the sights of the Namahadi Fire Festival before they left. That was until she spotted Stinks not too far from her. Y/n’s whole body tensed as she spun back around and speed walked towards the exit.

“What’s wrong, Y/n?” Mugman asked, curious as to why she was walking faster.

“Stinks.” That was all she answered. Bendy and Oswald shared a look and held back laughter. Panchito looked at the two, puzzled. But, oddly enough, he didn’t say anything about it.

After finally reaching the exit, Y/n relaxed, letting her shoulders drop and exhaling a breath she didn’t know she was holding in. She slowed her pace, now in step with Felix.

“So, how did you like today?” He asked thoughtfully, awaiting her answer.

Y/n thought for a moment before replying. “It was
.adventurous. But in a good way.”

“That’s nice to hear. I’m glad you had a good day.” Felix responded with a content tone.

“How about you? How was your day?” Y/n questioned him kindly.

“It was nice. Calm is a good way of describing it. Or as calm as it can get at a densely populated festival.” Felix filled in, speaking truthfully.

"Awh, that’s nice. I’m happy for you.”

The two shared a gentle smile with each other. Y/n enjoyed spending time with Felix; he was so calm and content yet knew how to enjoy life and have fun. Likewise, Felix loved spending time with Y/n. She was like a refreshing breath you take when you see gorgeous scenery.

They walked at the back of the group in a comforting silence.

After a little bit of walking, Y/n stopped and looked down at the ground in front of her. She crouched down to get a better look. "Hey, look at these, Felix!” He stopped and looked down at where she was crouched. Felix got into a low stance, mimicking hers.

“Those are Gardenia flowers. They symbolize a secret love. They also signify joy and purity and are associated with thoughts of beauty.” He informed her, stealing a glance at Y/n when he told her what they symbolized. “Good eye, Y/n!” Felix praised her, standing up and offering her hand to help her up too.

Y/n took his hand when she stood. “That’s beautiful.” She smiled, referencing the flowers, and let go of his hand. The two hurried along to catch up with the others before they reached the palace.

Once the group reached the palace, Bendy was already being stolen away by Lucy, who had come back to the palace immediately after talking to Bendy earlier. Everybody else dispersed on their own. As much as Y/n wanted to go take a nap, she was curious about what more King Modi knew about Hector.

She began walking down a random hallway, hoping to find King Modi eventually. As she walked, she’d read the labels for each room.

‘Guest Bedroom’ ‘Pet Storage’ ‘Pet Storage’ ‘Guest Bedroom’ ‘Storage’ ‘Bedroom Storage’ ‘Armory’

"Ok, weird jump.” Y/n muttered as she kept walking and reading.

‘Armory’ ‘Training Storage’ ‘Jewelry Storage’ ‘Clothing Storage’ ‘Armory’ ‘Hector’s Possessions’ ‘Dining Storage’ ‘Weapon Stora-

Wait

Y/n walked backwards a few steps and gawked at the door in front of her. Her mouth opened the slightest bit, and her eyes were the size of saucer plates.

She kept staring, not moving her eyes away from the label. Y/n wasn’t sure what to do and was too shocked to even move.

Slowly, she closed her mouth and swallowed heavily. She blinked a few times, trying to see if it was a hallucination from her desperation.

After realizing it wasn’t a hallucination, she quickly looked around in a panic. After seeing no one in the hallway, not even staff, which was strange given that there always seemed to be some around every corner, she put her hand on the handle.

Y/n waited a second to see if anything would happen, but nothing came. With the excitement and anxiety rushing inside her, she flung the door open.

Y/n took in a huge gasp of air. The entire room was full of things Hector had owned. From arrows to trophies to shoes, everything looked in pristine condition and was taken care of; not a single speck of dust was found. The room turned out to be a long hallway of sorts, with items filling up the walls from the floor to the high ceiling.

She took a step inside. Then another. And another. As Y/n walked, she turned in a slow circle while walking to get a view of everything, running her hands softly along items on the walls. Once she was facing forward again, she was in front of the end of the hallway. Standing straight in front of her was a suit that was held in a glass case. Not any old suit, though. This looked to be a general’s or king’s suit.

It was a royal blue with golden shoulder pads and tassels hanging. Medals were adorned all over the suit, all different styles, but all gold. Two straps were crossed across the suit's torso.

Y/n looked more until she saw a plaque with the engraving that read, ‘The Royal Suit of Hector Vendolez.’

That made sense; after all, it was a room dedicated to him.

So, this was Hector's suit. He must have worn it with pride.

As Y/n stared, she noticed how the suit looked to almost fit her exactly. Only if she was a tad taller, maybe the height of an average adult male, then it might fit her. But when she stared into the glass, her reflection was wearing the suit.

What would Hector think of her? Would she even be worthy enough to wear his suit? Probably not. He seemed perfect in every way that she wasn’t, which was basically everything. He had courage where she has fear. He had pride where she has shame.

Y/n looked away from her reflection, a pressure building onto her shoulders. Maybe coming in here was a bad idea.

She began walking to the exit of the hall solemnly, not daring to look back at the suit.

When she reached the doorway, she quickly glanced around in case anyone was nearby. Like earlier, nobody was there. Still odd, but whatever, as long as she wasn’t caught.

Y/n tiptoed out of the room and shut the door silently behind her. Once it was shut, she stood up straight and began walking to the bedroom. On the way there, through all the parlors, halls, and stairways, she checked her phone.

“7:20 PM?!” Y/n reeled back from her phone in shock. She spent over 3 hours in that room without realizing it. She quickened her pace, skipping steps and jogging down corridors, dodging staff to not crash into them at every bend.

Finally, she slowed her jog to a walk, catching her breath from the massive palace. Recognizing this as the hallway leading to the shared room, she straightened her appearance so she didn’t look like she had been attacked by a shark tornado.

She was directly outside the doors to the room. Y/n finished fixing her hair, and immediately after, the doors swung open.

“Oh- Hey doll face!” Cuphead greeted her with a relieved looking smile.

“Hey Cuphead.” She smiled warmly.

“Where were ya? We was all gettin’ worried up here.” He chuckled. Before Y/n could respond, Felix walked out and gasped at the sight of Y/n.

Felix rushed up to her and grabbed her face in his hands. He moved her head around to see her whole face.

“Are you ok?! Where were you? Did Stinks find you? Pib?!?!” The feline asked frantically, not giving her a chance to respond.

“Leave the kid alone, Felix. You’re supposed to be the sane one.” A stern voice piped in.

Ruck walked out of the room and stopped in front of Y/n, an intimidating aura surrounding him.

Felix immediately backed off and let Ruck talk with his great niece.

“So, kid, mind telling me where you were?” Ruck asked in a low voice; enjoyment was a wasteland in his tone.

“Uh
I
um..” Y/n struggled to find the words. How would she explain that she found a freight load of her great grandfather’s, and Ruck's brother's possessions stashed away in a useless hallway of the castle?

Ruck raised an eyebrow expectantly.

"I will tell you later, when we’re alone.” Y/n trailed off, sighing and looking to the ground.

“I will keep you to that.” Ruck spoke before turning and walking back inside.

Felix stayed out in the hallway with Y/n for a minute, eventually turning to her. “C’mon, Lucy wants us and the other toons in the ballroom for wedding preparations.”

Y/n let out a silent groan, not looking forward to more work today. Truth be told, she was about to pass out from exhaustion.

Not even a minute later, the other toons walked out of the room too.

“¡Hola Y/n!” Panchito chirped, walking next to her.

“Hey Panchito.” Y/n smiled at him kindly.

The group walked down to the ballroom, everyone talking amongst themselves. Panchito and Y/n were having a long conversation and a theory on the strangest topic.

"Ok, but hear me out, Christmas should be longer than a singular day.”

“Sí, sí, I agree.”

“Thank you! Seriously, I bought all these decorations and a tree for a single day? Make it a month! Or two!”

Panchito nodded along, listening intently to Y/n ramble. He liked listening to her. As much as he talked and loved it, he loved listening to her more. He would agree with anything she had to say; even if he didn’t understand it, he would try for her.

After what seemed like eons, they reached the ballroom. Pushing the grand doors open, the group was flooded with lights and music.

There were only two people inside the ballroom, Bendy and Lucy. They seemed to be waiting, probably for the group to arrive. As soon as the doors opened and made a loud groan, the two shot their heads over to the entrance.

"Oh, there you all are! Come in, come in! I have something important to teach you all.” Lucy’s cheerful voice never faltered, only growing brighter.

The group walked in, and Lucy immediately ran forward and took hold of Y/n’s arm.

“What- uh- ok?” Y/n wasn’t sure how to react to Lucy grabbing her. It wasn’t a tight grip, just a shocking one.

“I will be teaching you all how to waltz! Panchito, can you come here?” Lucy dragged Y/n out to the center of the ballroom floor.

“¡Sí!” Panchito sauntered over.

Once Panchito reached the girls, Lucy started getting Y/n and Panchito into a waltz position.

Y/n tried to fight back her blush when Panchito put his hand on her waist. Alas, she lost the battle when her cheeks were painted a rosy pink.

She rested her hand on Panchito's shoulder, following the instructions of Lucy.

“Ok, when I start the music, just move in square form.” Lucy instructed as she walked over to where a music box was. She clicked a button labeled "Play." A slow waltz played in the room, and the duo took this as their que.

They danced semi-gracefully; actually, it was only Y/n struggling. Panchito seemed to be liquid smooth with his movements.

She would look down at her feet to plan her next movements and try to copy him.

“Querida. Don’t look at our feet; look at me.”

Panchitos voice was as smooth as a silk dress freshly ironed. His words wrapped around Y/n like a ribbon on a gift.

Panchito quietly instructed her on what movements to make, softly counting 1-2-3-4 to keep track of their movements. He would make sure she was following along, even though there was no way she couldn’t.

His soft voice enveloped her in a daze-like dance, moving her body while her mind was trying to fight off every romantic feeling in herself.

Eventually, after Y/n got the hang of the square waltz, Panchito added his own movements. Instead of facing the same way the whole time, he would spin the two around. The world disappeared around them; only they remained in their dance.

Panchito twirled Y/n and dipped her as the song ended.

Panchito slowly raised her back up. “¡Fantástico!” He praised her.

Y/n didn’t know what to say, so she stayed quiet but was smiling widely.

“Great! Just like that!” Lucy congratulated them.

Unbeknownst to the duo and Lucy, the other toons looked on with jealousy, dread, or rage clouding their senses.

“Well. I think it’s time we're done here.” Bendy's voice was sharp and to the point.

“Yes, I think we should all sleep.” Oswald agreed, his voice sounding more distant than normal.

"Yeah, I’m pretty tired. Bye Lucy!” Y/n waved goodbye as she and the rest left the ballroom. On the way back to the room, nobody was talking at all. The atmosphere was so tense that it could lead to cardiac arrest.

Y/n and Panchito gave each other worried glances but didn’t dare say anything.

Eventually, after arriving at the room, everyone went to their respective areas. Ruck was sitting on the bed and immediately pulled Y/n away from the rest to a more private area.

“So. Are you going to tell me now?”

“Oh yeah, uhm, how do I say this
” Y/n trailed off, thinking for a moment before going to a whisper just for Ruck to hear.

“Earlier, I went down a hallway to go in search of King Modi to ask him about...Hector. I couldn't find him, but I did find a room labeled ‘Hectors Possessions’. I went in, and it’s a long hallway full of items that Hector owned. There was even a royal suit there.” Y/n filled in quickly.

Ruck's face went through a series of emotions before going to his neutral poker face.

“Ok.” That was all he said.

“Huh?” Y/n was confused by his reaction.

“Go to sleep. We have to train tomorrow at dawn.” Ruck began to walk out of the bedroom.

Y/n simply nodded, going to her bed and burying herself in the blanket. She fell asleep instantly into a dreamless sleep. Oh,  how she needed this.

Frozen Memories

Published: 12-13-2023

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The crunching of snow and her own sharp breaths were the only things Y/n could hear.
Not too long ago, Y/n had gotten into a heated argument with her toon friends. After the argument, she stormed out of the Welkin castle to go on a walk through the woods.
If only she paid attention to the time and where she went. Then she wouldn’t be wandering around aimlessly in the freezing cold at night.
Y/n walked a little more before leaning up against a tree for support. Putting her back against the tree, she slowly lowered herself to the ground.
When her body hit the snow- and ice-covered ground, she instantly relaxed her muscles, splaying herself across the cold forest floor. She was too tired to move or even try to correct her posture. Taking in a large inhale through her almost frozen nose, her mind started replaying memories.
~~~

The bright sun glistened through the car's windshield, partially blinding Y/n.

Letting out an irritated sigh, Y/n put down the visor, hoping it would help block out the sun. It did not help.

Y/n sighed again. She turned to face out the window, watching the endless fields roll by.

And like God was listening to her silent pleas of boredom, a song came on the radio. It was a fairly new one, but it was already one of Y/n’s favorites.

She began to hum along softly, tapping her finger to the beat on her lap. Y/n quietly started to mumble the words.

“My grandpa fought in World War II

And he was such a noble dude

Man, I feel like such a fool

I got so much left to prove.”

Bendy took a confused glance at her before going back to the road. Getting lost in the music, Y/n got a little louder, just under her speaking voice.

“All my friends have vaping friends

They're so good at making friДnds

I'm so scared of caving in

Is that entertaining yet?”

Her voice got the attention of Oswald, who was seated directly behind her. His ears perked up slightly, interested in the song and her voice.

The song went on for a bit, and Y/n sang along with it.

“I'll blow up into smithereens

And spew my tiny symphony

All up and down a city street

While tryna put my mind at ease”

Getting excited with the anticipation of the song, Y/n’s voice grew a tad louder with the song. Now she has reached her speaking level.

“Like finishing this melody

This feels like a necessity

So this could be the death of me

Or maybe just a better me”

Eventually, Panchito seemed to hear too and with a big grin on his face, he joined in.

“Now, come in with the timpanis

And take a shot of Hennessy

I know I'm not there mentally.”

Oswald nodded his head softly to the beat. All this racket caught the attention of the others, even managing to wake up Cuphead in the back.

“But you could be the remedy.”

Y/n turned around to look at Panchito excitedly, smiles adorning both their faces.

“So let me play my violin for you!”

~~~~
A shaky chuckle, if it could even be called that, left Y/n’s lips. She had lost feeling in her fingers and feet by now.
Y/n was shivering like an earthquake; she was so desperate for warmth. Just any warmth. Slowly, Y/n turned her head to the right side and let out a sigh.
~~~~

Tension was high inside the town tavern. Everyone was holding their breath, waiting. In the center of all the eyes were two humans. A teen girl with a neutral face and a random middle-aged man with a smirk.

The two were sitting at a table with money, trinkets, keep-sakes, and many other valuable items placed between them.

“Well girlie, you gonna bet or what?” The man spoke in a New York accent.

Y/n looked at him before taking a glance at her toon friends who stood behind and beside her. Her eyes widened ever so slightly at the thought.

She had a plan.

“Yeah, I am.” Y/n turned around in her chair to her book bag, opening it up and pulling something out.

A loud thud, along with loud gasps, filled the tavern.

Laying on the table was a certain book, Y/n and the toons depended upon it.

Feeling a hand on her shoulder, she turned around to see her friends' expressions. Emotions were flashing like Christmas lights across their faces. Anger, shock, fear, and many others.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Bendy hissed under his breath, bending down to meet Y/n’s eyes. Y/n merely smirked.

“Trust me, I know what I’m doing.” She reassured them, though it didn’t do much for them.

“You better know what you’re doing. Or it’s your head on a stick.” Mugman glared; he wasn’t normally this pissed, but Y/n was betting off the book that was supposed to save the world. He can’t be calm about that.

Y/n rolled her eyes and turned back to face the man across the table, muttering. “Nice to know you trust me.”

"Alright, little girl, we are playing sevens. Ya’ know how ta’ play?”

Y/n waved her hand at him, brushing him off. "'Course, I do. Roll a seven, and I win. If I don't, then it’s your turn. Simple.”

“Good. Here are some dice; I’m betting you don’t have any since, ya’ know, you’re a woman.” The guy shrugged with a chuckle.

Glaring, Y/n responded. “Funny, well, I do, in fact, have dice.” She glared. “Spunk?” Y/n called.

The robotic dog came trotting up next to her. Y/n looked down at him with a gentle smile, holding her hand out to him. Spunk delicately dropped two dice into her hand from his mouth. Thankfully, since he was a robot, there was no saliva.

Y/n looked back at the man, gesturing to him to roll first. The man smirked cockily and shook his hands before letting the pair of dice go.

One and five.

Close call.

Y/n nodded before shaking the dice in her hands. “Give me a seven." Y/n whispered under her breath. Letting the dice go, they rolled and spun around the table. Finally, with the whole tavern holding its breath and Mugman ready to beat the daylights out of Y/n, the dice landed.

“SEVEN!!!” The whole tavern yelled.

Cheers erupted, and the toons let out a sigh of relief. Y/n smiled and scooped everything into her book bag (how she fit it all, we’ll never know). When she finished gathering her winnings, she swung her book bag around her and got up to leave. But as she stood, she accidentally hit the table, knocking the dice off.

Terror spread across Y/n’s face as the dice danced along the floor. Finally landing, confusion spread throughout the tavern like wildfire.

Another seven.

“What..?” The middle-aged man muttered. He crouched down to pick up the dice. Y/n was frozen in her spot. Her friends cast glances at her, only to look back at the guy.

The silence was so deafening that you could hear a pin drop. The man picked up the dice and dropped them back to the floor.

Another seven.

Y/n was slowly and quietly backing away to the exit, but she wasn’t fast enough. The whole tavern looked directly at her.

“
lucky..roll..?” Y/n chuckled nervously, standing still in fear.

“You have loaded dice!” The man shouted, standing up straight and pointing at Y/n. For being possibly over double Y/n’s age, the man was much shorter than her.

"Whaaaaat, I have noooo idea what you’re talking about.” She spoke in a nervous and horribly convincing voice.

“CHEATER!!” The man yelled, charging for Y/n.

Y/n turned and took off, running through the crowd, weaving and dodging hands, trying to catch her.

Bursting through the tavern doors, she ran across the street and past pedestrians.

“Excuse me! Oh- Sorry! Please move! I’m sorry! Sorry!”

“CHEATER!!” Could be heard from behind her.

Running through and around crowds was difficult, but she soon found a rhythm for dodging people. As she raced, she saw a car speeding next to her.

“Hurry up and get in!” Bendy yelled from the driver's seat.

Skidding to a halt, Y/n ran over to the stopped car and jumped into the passenger seat.

Y/n let out a deep exhale of relief when the car sped off away from the town.

“That was really stupid, you know that?” Felix scolded her from the back.

“I know," Y/n began, but was cut off.

“We could’ve lost the book!” Mugman piped in.

“But we didn't." She was cut off again.

“Why would you do something like that?” Bendy joined, and by his tone, Y/n could tell he was beyond pissed.

“I had a plan," Y/n started, but alas, her sentence was unfinished again.

“Even I’m not that risky.” Cuphead claimed.

“You put the fate of the world on the line!” Bendy continued. He stopped driving now that they had reached the countryside. “What would you have done if you lost? Or if you were caught? What would have happened if you didn’t have loaded dice? What if he forced you to use his dice?”

Growing irritated, Y/n clenched her fists, her jaw tightened, and her shoulders tensed.

“But none of that happened.” She grumbled.

“Excuse you? You don’t get to have an opinion right now.” Bendy turned to her with a hard, cold glare.

Turning to him, rage and shock were evident in Y/n’s eyes. “Why?! Why don’t I get a say? Why do you all treat me like a child?! I am not helpless! I am not stupid! I am not any weaker than all of you! I am capable of anything you are! You always act like I’m a baby here! And for what?! Because I’m human?! Huh? Tell me!” She shouted at them; tears were brimming in her eyes. “I can handle the world. I handled that gamble back there, even with you all doubting me.”

Panchito was about to raise his hand to explain that she had his support then, but he didn’t think now was the right time.

“Y/n
” Oswald began, and Donald was sleeping on his shoulder, unaware of the yelling that just ensued.

Y/n looked at him, and as much as she wouldn’t admit it, her gaze softened the slightest bit. Y/n huffed and turned around, looking out her window. The toons all looked at each other for support and answers, but none of them knew what to do.

Bendy moved around and faced back to the road in front of them, beginning to drive again.

~~~~
Y/n frowned at the memory; she didn’t like that one. She hated herself for yelling at her friends like that; they were right; she was just a kid. She acts so stupid at the worst times, and it’s all her fault. They were just trying to help. Y/n realized that she never officially apologized to them. Regret and terror ran through her veins. She needed to see them again.
But as much as she tried, she couldn’t move. The pain was unbearable, but Y/n would go through it if it meant she could apologize officially.
Slowly, she twisted her body to get into an army crawl; she couldn’t muster the strength to stand. Crawling across the snowy ground in a snowstorm while being almost frozen solid was something Y/n wished upon no soul.
But as much as she tried, she didn’t make it far—not before another memory came, at least.
~~~~

“What are you doing up here?”

Y/n didn’t have to turn around to know who was talking.

“Hey Ruck, I’m watching the sunset. Isn’t it beautiful tonight?”

Ruck finished climbing the tree and sat next to his great-niece. Looking out at the sunset, he was at first stunned by the beauty, but that initial shock faded as quickly as it came.

“Eh, it’s fine, I guess.” He shrugged.

Y/n scoffed jokingly at his uninterest. “You’re just upset that you aren’t as pretty as the sunset.” She smirked.

The ghost of a smile appeared on Ruck's face for a split second. “I could show you something better than a sunset.” He offered.

Y/n chuckled, turning to face her great-uncle. “Doubtful, but I’d like to see you try.”

Ruck chuckled too, leading her down the tree. The two of them walked through the forest in a comforting silence. The only sounds were the rustle of wind, cracks of twigs under the duo's feet, and the birds chirping their own sweet songs.

After walking for a bit, they finally arrived.

“Ok, close your eyes for a second.” Ruck told her.

“Oook?” Y/n put her hands over her eyes to prove she wasn’t peeking. Ruck grabbed her shoulders and led her forward. Once she took a few steps, he stopped her. “Open your eyes.”

And as she did, she couldn’t explain her admiration for the setting. It was ineffable.

“See? Better than a sunset.” Ruck said confidently, going to relax against a tree.

Y/n spun in a slow circle, taking in the view. The sun's light glistened perfectly through the leaves of the lively trees. A soft stream sparkled with the clearest water, making the water look almost invisible.

Birds flew around the treetops, whistling their pretty chords. It was the perfect temperature, and only a few clouds decorated the sky.

In total, this place looked like a sanctuary. It doesn’t look real; it looks like someone spent years painting it.

Y/n took a few backward steps until she was right in front of a smooth rock. Sitting down, she never took her gaze off the perfect scenery. Ruck was just leaning against a tree, relaxing with his eyes shut. Nothing could ruin this.

~~~~~
Y/n collapsed her face and arms into the snow. Letting her body release all tension and stress. She was too tired. Too cold.
Why? Why did she run off? Why couldn’t they have talked it out? Why? Why is she such a screw up?
Laying her face in the snow, she took a deep inhale. Knowing it could be her last. Then a thought ran through her mind that made the frozen tears in her eyes fall like shards of icicles.
Her parents would have never been able to say goodbye to her. They never knew that the goodbye for her ‘vacation’ would be the last goodbye they shared. And Ruck wouldn’t have been able to say goodbye either. The toons. Oh, her friends. They all left on bad terms. And now she’d be gone. They would blame themselves. Everyone would.
Broken sobs left Y/n’s mouth. It hurt to cry but it hurt so much more to keep it in. Crying with her head in the snow, she was helpless. Completely and utterly helpless. Finally, after a little bit of crying, her breaths slowed, along with her organs working. The world faded in and out of light and darkness.
Sighing, she took in another breath of air. A slower yet quicker breath. A steady yet shaky breath.
Letting herself watch the world disappear, she remembered a fact she learned a while ago. When you die, your sense of hearing is the last to go.
“Y/N!!! Y/N!! WHERE ARE YOU?? PLEASE WHERE ARE YOU!!”
Shouting. For her.
Y/n only hoped Ruck would find comfort in the place he would find her. The stream was frozen, and the birds no longer chirped. The leaves overhead were fallen and bare. The moon took the place of the sun, showing its sharp, cold gaze through the dead branches. The sanctuary was so dead and quiet, yet just as majestic, if not more. It was ineffable.
Fake Proposals
“This is such a bad idea.”
"Oh, c'mon, Peach! It’s free food!”
“If it works, which it probably won’t,” Y/n explained to her boyfriend, "plus, aren’t you a demon? Can you not just disguise yourself and steal the food?”
“Where’s the fun in that? Have some faith, Peaches!” Wukong encouraged, wrapping his arm around his girlfriend's shoulder. He held Y/n tight and guided her into the high-class restaurant that stood tall in front of them. Wukong let go of Y/n, to his dismay, so he could hold the door open for her. He may be an egotistical demon, but he knows how to treat the love of his immortal life.
Y/n smiled at her partner’s kind gesture, “Thank you, love,” and entered the small entrance of the restaurant. When Wukong entered, his hand instantly found its way to Y/n’s, holding her in a tight yet gentle grip. The couple stood near the host stand, waiting for a server to come to seat them. They stood there for around five minutes until Wukong started getting impatient. His foot was tapping rapidly on the ground, and his tail was swaying, brushing Y/n’s leg every few passes. Noticing this, Y/n lightly squeezed his hand in a few pulses. Her eyes watched as Wukong’s tail slowed its sways and his foot stopped tapping.
Smiling softly, the young woman cast a glance at her boyfriend. She saw how he was looking around, trying to spot any servers standing around. Eventually, someone who looked like a hostess walked up to them.
“I am so sorry for making you wait! I was told someone would cover me when I’m on break, but I guess not,” the girl, who looked the same age as Y/n, spoke quickly. Y/n observed how the girl kept taking glances at Wukong, each one longer than the last. Normally, Y/n wouldn’t mind people looking at her boyfriend; he was a demon after all, but this girl had a different emotion in her expression. Y/n read the girl’s name tag and couldn’t help but notice how much the girl looked like Y/n. ‘Analise’, was the name carved into the metal tag. “That’s ok, my boyfriend and I would just like a couple table. Please,” Y/n spoke through a strained smile, moving closer to Wukong.
Wukong, somehow, didn’t take notice of the way Analise stared at him or how Y/n moved closer. “Right away,” Analise glared at Y/n before turning and guiding them to a nearby table made for two. As they walked, Y/n gripped Wukong’s hand tighter. She could see from her peripheral view when her boyfriend looked down at their hands and looked at her face. Y/n looked at him when he mouthed a question, ‘You okay?’. Now that Wukong knew she saw him, Y/n couldn’t ignore the question. Looking at Analise, who was still walking in front of the two, Y/n let out a sigh and shook her head, ‘No’. Wukong’s eyes held hers, filled with sympathy and understanding, and simply nodded. It didn’t take long for them to reach a two-person table in the center of the restaurant. Y/n smiled when she saw the mischievous grin spread across her lover’s lips.
“Here you are, sir... and ma’am,” Analise finished her sentence with resentment. Hearing this, Y/n gave the worker a tight, sour smile before sitting down across from her partner. Analise left the couple to view their menus and choose the food. Scanning the options, Y/n paused when she felt a foot tapping hers. Looking up, she was met with Wukong’s iconic smirk. “So, my dear Y/n was jealous of some random girl?” His tone was laced with tease as he smiled at her. Y/n rolled her eyes and softly kicked her demon lover, a small smile forming on her lips as she looked away to hide it. “Shut up, just stick to the plan, ok?” The young woman spoke through her embarrassment, still not meeting Wukong’s eyes.
Y/n heard his chuckle and the shuffling of fabric. Looking up, she watched as her boyfriend pulled a small black box from his pocket and set it on the table with a mischievous grin. The two looked around, trying to see if any staff was nearby to see the plan in action. “I think that’s the manager right there,” Y/n discreetly pointed to a man standing about a table or two away. Looking back to her partner, Y/n nodded to him with him doing the same in response. Clearing his throat to gain nearby attention, Wukong stood up and took the box. Walking over to Y/n, he knelt in front of her. She could see a glimmer in his eyes as emotions danced like lightning on his expression.
“Y/n M/n L/n, we have been through thick and thin together. I can’t even fathom how you could survive with someone like me and yet you do it anyways. You have always meant the most to me; the flame to my candle, the moon to my sun, the rainbow to my cloud. I can’t explain in words how much you mean to me, it’s simply impossible. You deserve everything in this whole messed-up universe and I will make it my goal to deliver it all to you. Anything you want, it’s yours. I’m lost without you, Peach. I want to be your crutch, your support; the one you rely on when you can’t even rely on yourself. I may not understand everything but I will do anything to let you show me. I am willing to change anything just for you to glance at me. The longing I get when you have to leave from a date or when I can’t look at you for even a moment. Your eyes, your hair, your cheeks, your nose, your arms, your everything. I love every little detail about yourself. All your flaws are gone, you never had any to begin with. I know you might not be able to see yourself the way I see you but I want to let you even get at least a glimpse of how I see you. You are so perfect to me that even the stars moon and sun envy you. You shine your light of kindness and care to anyone, proving anyone can be themself around you. I feel so safe with you and I want you to feel that around me. Y/n M/n L/n, I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I will do anything to make you mine. So, what do you say?”
Shock and embarrassment overwhelmed Y/n. She had expected some cheesy speech, but the way he said it and the way his eyes glowed. Y/n knew he meant every single word and it left her speechless. Her mouth opened slightly, trying to say something but no words or sounds came out. Wukong held an expectant look like he didn’t think this whole spiel would catch you off guard. The whole restaurant was looking at the two of you. The suspense was thick in the air and even the blind could see the anticipation. Finally, Y/n found her voice.
“Yes,” She whispered before making her voice audible, “yes! 100 times yes!” Wukong stood up and brought her up with him before picking Y/n up and spinning her around. Laughter echoed from them as the restaurant erupted into cheers and applause. A huge smile graced both the couple's faces when Wukong slid the ring onto Y/n's ring finger. The duo hugged tightly before feeling a hand on both their shoulders, it was the manager. At first, they thought their plan had been a success until the manager pointed to an extremely small sign across the room that read, ‘NO ROMANCE ON PREMISE!’. “Well, that’s ironic.”
Now walking hand in hand down the dark street, Y/n and Wukong just talked. “I wanted that free food,” Y/n complained. “I know Peach, but I can just steal some food from Pizza Hut or something if you would like,” her boyfriend shrugged. Pausing in her steps, Y/n looked at Wukong with an ‘Are you serious?’ expression. “What?” “Why didn’t you just do that earlier before we got kicked out?!” Y/n exclaimed to her clueless boyfriend. “I
uhhh
.” Wukong stumbled on his words, trying to find a reason before Y/n found the truth. “Wait a second,” Y/n spoke, a smirk forming on her face and turning to her lover, “did you just do all this so you could propose to me but not officially?” Wukong was looking everywhere but his girlfriend now and not answering her question. Y/n smiled softly at her flustered partner before taking his face in her palms and giving Wukong a soft kiss on the cheek, ruffling the fur atop his head when she leaned back. Y/n chuckled a little before she turned and kept walking, leaving a stunned Monkey King behind her.
He is an ai, he doesn’t have “Respond to flirts” in his code
..yet
Anyways, he probably starts lagging and just stares
On the occasion he doesn’t glitch/lag out, he will either..
1. Run away
2. Laugh cause he doesn’t know what else to do
3. Flirt back
Bubble:
pops
Kinger:
Kinger is
.Kinger
He is a tough one because he only has one reaction
Ya know that scene where Jax goes “They’re the two most mentally stable. Characters to be paired together” and Kinger starts lagging basically?
Yeaaahhhh that’s his reaction to your flirts
Bro starts tweaking
Gangle:
If you flirt with Gangle she will either combust in being flustered or be overcome by giggles, probably the second one
I know you’ve seen those TikTok’s of Gangle being one of those stereotypical anime obsessed girls
Just imagine that’s her with you
She is like obsessed
And you’re flirty too?
You are in for a rough ride, unless you like someone obsessing over you and making bad anime art of youđŸ€·â€â™€ïž
Zooble:
Bro does not care at all(They do!)
They will act all unfazed and annoyed, but they are steaming(romantically) inside
They don’t mean it
Like blushing mess
She becomes ♟x more clumsier
She is as red as the blood moon
Stuttering non stop and giggling
Lots of giggling
Like anime school girl giggling too
Pomni:
Stand very still
Statue
She becomes a literal statue
She has no idea what to do
Pomni just stand there, frozen
She will stay there forever until you go away
Jax:
At first he was caught off guard
Now? It is literally flirting warfare
Almost like you guys are flirty rivals
Arguments spiking and the only comebacks being flirts are second nature to you two now
Responds to your flirts with flirts
Nothing really to him other than you guys being romantic rivals basically
So I know this is really late and stupid
.buuuut I’m thinking of making a finale for the December challenge and releasing it on Christmas day. It will most likely be related to Toon Quest😬 I know, I know, I write for TQ like every day, but that’s cause the fandom is a barren wasteland for fics or oneshotsđŸ€·â€â™€ïž At least all the other fandoms I cover have actual fandoms, so I’m sorry if this isn’t what you wanted BUT this does NOT mean I am only writing TQ! I will still write all the fandoms (and others) I have listed.
So for this finale, that means no more oneshots until Christmas, yall cool with that? Cool😎 Alrighty thats all
Toodles!!
Dancing to Christmas music
Published: 12-1-2023
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Laughter echoed throughout Flower Fruit Mountain.

Y/n and Wukong were inside the small hut hidden within the mountain's walls.

The familiar music that comes around at Christmas time was blasting from a bass boosted speaker Y/n bought off Temu, loud enough to rupture eardrums.

Now looking at the two protagonists, it was confusing to say the least. They were dancing, or they were supposed to be.

For the most part, they looked like they were having seizures while standing.

The two were screaming the song lyrics to ‘All I want for Christmas Is You’ By Mariah Carey.

“I JUST WANT YOU FOR MY OWN!! MORE THAN YOU COULD EVER KNOW!!” Y/n scream-sang. She was jumping around with her eyes shut tight, using a candy cane as a microphone.

With her eyes closed and belting the song, she didn’t notice Wukong slow down his dancing just to stare at her.

Y/n was beautiful to him. She was a goddess like this. Having fun without a care in the world. Being so trusting and comfortable to let him see this side of her. Oh how he wanted her to know his feelings.

Noticing that she was dancing under the mistletoe they hung up a little bit ago, he made his way over to her as she danced around.

Quickly, he grabbed her face with his hands and pushed his lips onto hers. Their lips locked like two puzzle pieces that finally found the right fit.

After about 5 seconds, Wukong broke the kiss to let Y/n have air and the two took a step back away from each other.

She took in a deep inhale, trying to catch her breath. Y/n placed a hand on her sternum , leaning down slightly.

“Wha- What was that all about?” Y/n could pass as a tomato with how red she was.

“You were under the mistletoe, it’s Christmas Law.” Wukong told her cheekily.

Y/n stared at him for a minute, just looking into his eyes. She took a slow step forward so she was directly under the mistletoe once more.

“Do it again.” Y/n whispered.

The widest smile spread across Wukongs face when he came forward and wrapped his arms around her waist, dipping her.

“Don’t have to tell me twice.”
