How i feel when my theories are so bad i just dont bother anymore

i’m not smart enough to come up with byler theories so i just lurk on here and reblog smart people’s theories like “yesssss girl” and it’s imposter syndrome at its finest

100% also something that really helped me when i first started learning Korean, and even French, is that you need to practice speaking, listening, and reading. Not just a sentence you learnt, but mix matched sentences and such. Make up sentences, find new content, etc.

Watch street interviews, variety shows, listen to songs, write in a diary, etc and don't just shadow!!! Think of your own answers. Read subtitles in that language and cross reference the translation with what you interpreted it as! Speak to yourself in made up scenarios! Do whatever you can to practice. Try typing in your TL in comments, or in your notes app, or even a sheet of paper. If you find yourself struggling to find a word, write it in your mother tongue to translate later or try and find another way to say what you want.

There are so many ways to get practice in without being immersed in an environment. And even then those people need to study, they don't just talk their way into knowing (except sometimes context clues). So pretend youre in that environment. Watch the shows, videos, movies. Read the posts, comments, lyrics. Listen to the commentary, the q/a's, the pronunciation.

And of course, everyone studies at their own pace, so don't be upset if it takes you longer. The time will pass anyway, why not persue your goals?

People always ask me how I learn languages! Well, I sit down and study. Sometimes I stand up and study. And no, there are no shortcuts. You actually have to engage with a language for hours to learn it. Even people who learn how to speak languages by speaking have to go up to other people and talk at length. Also, knowing how to speak 20 phrases you've memorized is not speaking a language. That's what people selling phrasebooks and premium study plans on youtube wants you to believe. Sorry. It actually takes years for you to become good at a target language. You'll just have to find a way to make those years bearable. Sorry again.

It would be cool if their first "I love you" came from Will BUT I think it would mean muuuuch more if Mike said it first, he can't say "I love you" to el, I think it would be way more deep and way more interesting if Mike was the first one to day "ily" to Will

Mike only said those things because he thinks El commissioned the painting and he felt like he owed it to El and you can tell that because he only started saying those things after Will said to him "you're the heart" and they called the soundtrack of the scene "you're the heart" because Mike now thinks the things Will said in the van were from El, in this scene Mike was trying to recreate the shed scene but the difference is no one pushed Mike into saying those things to Will and he didn't repeat any words he heard from others when he spoke to Will and they won, he was trying to recreate the shed scene from s2, in s4 Will pushed him into talking to El and they lost in s5 he's gonna realize Will loves him back and that he lied about the painting and he's gonna kiss him, Mike likes to plagiarize things, he stole the "love at first sight" thing from Argyle and Eden, the first thing he said to El in s1 was "that's not Will" and he wanted to send her back to the lab but changed his mind when he realized she knew where Will was, Mike's monologue was built on a lie and something built on a lie can't be true
