I need someone to write a fanfiction using this headcanon ASAP!!!

I'd like to headcanon that after Atem leaves for the afterlife, Kaiba subconsciously starts looking out for Yugi like an older brother to fill the void Atem left.

Atem and Yugi's bond reminds Kaiba of the connection he shares with his own little brother Mokuba, and he feels weird inside knowing Yugi doesn't have "his own Seto" anymore looking after him, unable to imagine what Mokuba would do if he didn't have Seto. So Yugi becomes an unofficial Kaiba brother without really knowing and gets confused when Kaiba starts to hang out with him and the gang. They just roll with it because there is no way any of them are brave enough to say no to Kaiba following them around and hanging out with them (it pisses Joey off to no end but the gang just tries to keep him from stirring the pot whenever Kaiba's around).

Whenever something bad happens to Yugi, Kaiba gets pissed beyond measure and comes close to killing whatever fuckwad is responsible, and Yugi is like "why does he care about me, I thought he hates me!?" before Kaiba is eventually like "Atem's not here anymore, so someone has to be your big brother now, so it might as well be me" and Yugi's just like ":,3" cause that's the most care from Kaiba anyone can ever get.

And yes Kaiba is also doing it for Atem because he really misses his "rival" and feels closer to Atem when he's around Yugi, and feels like Atem would want Yugi to be well looked after by someone, so Kaiba volunteers himself even though literally nobody asked him to.

I just find the idea really cute.

Faking amnesia to uncover a plot to kill you is so Kaiba-coded. Jou as his fake fiance is just too funny. He figured this was his chance to get back at Kaiba for years of annoying him (and no, not because any small part of him is also concerned about Kaiba's safety how dare you even suggest that). I love that they get to mutually use each other in this situation. Kicking my feet giddily to the image of Kaiba discovering he likes spoiling Jou with small gifts and gestures of affection.

Also props to the female lead for saying "fuck it I'll be dead in like a year anyway, what consequences? yolo."
