Wattson wraith ask: Is Wes supposed to have ADHD? He seems to have a lot of actual ADHD symptoms that aren't the usual "oh look a squirrel" that most media uses to portray it. Also this whole fic is gold, and halfa Wes lives in my brain rent free.
I hesitate to name anything specific because I'm not actually well-versed with neurodivergent disorders (not even sure if that's the correct term), but he definitely has, or has something akin to, autism, ADHD, or both. I did do some research to make sure I could portray that as accurately as possible, but I don't have a specific diagnosis to give. So however you read him, yes!
I have always liked to either lean into tropes hard, or completely and realistically derail them. In this instance, I have opted to go with, yes, he is casually neurodivergent. I'm not going to do the whole "oh look squirrel" thing, and I'm not going to turn him into a teenage infant, because that's really not what ADHD or autism is. I want to portray this as realistically as I possibly can, while also just, writing it and not making a point to draw a whole lot of attention to it. Like, it's not his Sole Defining Characteristic. It's just a facet of his character, and I want to write it as naturally as I can.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa I'm happy you like the story so far! Chapter 20 should be out soon. I busted out a major scene yesterday, so I'd estimate it'll be out in about a week, give or take!

Sometimes I love having in-character sideblogs for people to interact with, because if it hadn't been for people convincing @wattsonwraith it would be a good idea to attempt traveling out of state with enough charge to maybe turn himself into a miniature sun in order to attract and befriend Mothman, I probably wouldn't have ever thought to draw this garbage lmao
