how long did it take you to get this amazing at your art? both your oc's and your backgrounds. also what kind of .. learning? did you take to achieve this? you're still my favorite artist tbh

Well I went to school and then did a diploma in art, then I went to a uni in Britain and got a degree in illustration I think I did a lot of learning there (I don’t think any of the stuff I did from there is on here though) But since then it’s basically just been about trying to get as much time as you can to draw!! Like finding a flexible job so you can do that and get enough money to live and draw at the same time. ALSO you gotta bear in mine I am 25 so I have had quite a lot of time haha. But yeah in terms of actual drawing, when I was younger I think I took style way too seriously? and I think a lot of artists do, I think it’s really important to be able to draw variety and to push art in different directions constantly and not stick with one particular thing. Style is something that comes naturally over time I think. But yeah basically just lots of practice, filling sketchbooks, using real life references and not other art is important too! Life drawing classes are also amazing. This is such a huge compliment though honestly it REALLY means a lot

Hey Binley, ArtMun again haha; i have another question for you (ive taken your advice in background creating btw, going really well!!) I was just curious because i saw somebody compliment this to you about it on your blog recently How DO you outline your stuff??? How do you make it so clean is it just practice, a lot of erasing, vectors oorrr..???

 ahhaha I can’t use vectors I find them impossible!!!! I just start with an initial thin line and then build on it depending on what areas I want to really pop! I touch it up a lot with the eraser it takes a while though like I swear lineart always does. I’m so glad you found my background advice useful!!
