The Pack Initiative - Five

[TWO DAYS LATER]

Today is the day. The day we'll start to room together. It's a normal schedule until three, when we'll be escorted into our new living quarters and made to cook our own dinner with people we barely know anything about.

Jungkook had mandated gym time from 10:30 to 12, then lunch/free time, then an Omega Maintenance class at 1:30pm until 2:30pm. He's not as on edge as I am, though. You can practically feel the anxiousness oozing out of my every pore, filling the room from wall to wall.

My own schedule is different than my Alpha's, with a lot more to do. From 10:30 until 12:30, I would be in Home Economics, then lunch. I then had a Apex Alpha side-class at 1:15pm until 2pm, a Nesting side-class straight after until 2:35pm, and finally a 25 minute lecture on breeding and pups, working right up until 3pm.

Why did they pack my day, and no doubt every other omega's, so much?! We're going to be exhausted. Great.

"Morning!" Jimin cheerily greets, swinging his legs back and forth on the kitchen stools. He pats the seat next to him, cooing happily when I settle down.

"Morning, Jimin." I yawn back, sending a small grin his way that he returns. His sparkling eyes disappear for a moment, a snort unattractively falling from my mouth that makes one fall from his own.

"Having all of the fun without me?" Seokjin appears out of the blue, Jimin and I practically jumping out of our skins as a result. He plops down in the seat next to me, so I'm the filling in an omega sandwich. A very tasty sandwich.

We exchange pleasantries and share a little about our morning routines while waiting for the room to fill with the other people.

"So Tae wouldn't get out of bed this morning, like at all. He just kept whining and cuddling into the pillow. Hobi had to yank him out of bed with the promise of food and a hot shower," Seokjin starts, "But he still didn't leave until he had to. He's really cranky too. I hope he doesn't start anything in the gym today."

"He's in the gym today? Kook's in there too!" I pipe up, my face going warm when the other two begin to giggle.

"Joon is in the gym as well. Yoongi has Omega Maintenance class."

"Hobi too!"

We share our alpha's schedules, as well as our own, smiling widely when we realised our schedules were identical, and even wrote on the others to indicate so. Jimin brought out his collection of pens and used a light blue one, Seokjin used a pink  and I used a purple out of his collection. Our schedules were covered in little asterisks and markings to signal who would be with who and what our packs would also be doing.

My mind starts to wobble, showing flashes of these schedules being pinned to a fridge and us all bustling and jumping on-top of one another to catch a glimpse with messy mouths and sleepy eyes.

It also shows a flash of some sleepy children doing the same, whining and yawning.

I quickly shake my head, returning my focus back to the two omegas. They're staring at me with curiosity, eyes tracking my nervous glances away and taps against the table.

"What are you thinking about?" Thankfully, I don't get the chance to answer, due to three snotty betas walking in and shouting for silence. Great. It begins.

There is simply no nice way to say this. Jimin can't cook. Don't get me wrong, he's amazing at measuring the ingredients and preparing everything needed, but actual cooking? Terrible. Seokjin and I kept sharing glances behind him, desperately trying to convince the other to say something. Luckily, Jimin decided to step away on his own accord, distracted by the new dessert recipe choices. He chose cheesecake, and didn't even try to help make it, instead choosing to wash all of the pots and pans. I don't want to be the one to break his poor heart and tell him he can't cook, that's best left to the alphas.

We all choose to spend lunch together in one of the communal rooms, but not sat at a table. Instead, we're sat on the hardwood floor in a semi-circle shape, decorative pillows cast aside and ignored. Well, most of us are sat. Jungkook's head lays in my lap, nose burrowed into my stomach as I alternate between feeding myself and him.

Namjoon and Jimin are in the same position but reversed, Jimin laid out in his apex's lap whilst Yoongi rubbed soothing circles and shapes into his thigh with one of his hands. The other is jokingly flicking at Jungkook's socked feet in his lap.

Hoseok and Namjoon sit next to one-another, arms brushing every time they slightly move. Taehyung is draped along Hoseok and Seokjin, not a part of his body even so much as grazing the hardwood floor. They don't seem to mind, almost used to the clingy alpha's habits.

I wonder if he'll be like that with the rest of us? Or is it just Seokjin and Hoseok he's like that with?

The door opens. Another scowling beta. More marching orders. Great.
