It seems like everyone around you is either already in love, or in the process of falling, and while normally you couldn’t give a damn, finding out the co-worker you’ve had a teensy crush on is dating someone else at the office seems to sucker punch you right in the gut. It’s stupid, and you’re irritated at yourself, but you can’t seem to shake out of the funk you’ve fallen face first in.

Feeling lonely and heartsore, and mad for no reason, during drinks with your best friend you spot a man at the bar. Tequila confident, you make your way over to the stranger, and successfully one thing leads to another. The next morning you leave before he’s woken up, feeling satisfied in one way, but still as discontented as ever. Telling yourself it was an inebriated mistake, you quickly try to forget about it.

Only, three weeks later that night comes back to haunt you – in a very unescapable way…

“So,” Seulgi says, sitting on the couch in front of you, “You really caught him?”

You nod, taking a sip of the fuming coffee in your hands. “I caught him red handed.”

“And he was with Jessica…?”

“Yep. Caught the bitch sucking his dick.” you let an evil chuckle past your lips. “You should’ve seen his face though. Even his ass went pale. Not that his ass isn’t already pale enough.”

Seulgi rolls her eyes, but can’t help but chuckle too. “How do you have the guts to make jokes about it?”

“What? You want me to cry over that asshole? Spend days eating ice cream and isolating myself from the world?” you take one more sip, making a scowl. The coffee is too bitter. It seems that Seulgi always forgets to put sugar on the coffee. “He doesn’t deserve any of my tears.”

Seulgi sighs and throws her back against the couch, crossing her arms. She stares at you with incredulity in her eyes as if you are an alien or something. “Yeah, but still… you’ve been dating for quite some time. Doesn’t it bother you at all?”

You roll your eyes slightly. You know that Seulgi just wants to make sure that you’re not suffering, but two years of convivence should have taught her something about you, right?

“Seulgi, look at me. I am Y/N. After years of meditation, I have reached the utter peace of mind. Nothing bothers me and I don’t suffer over inferior creatures such as men. I am an evolved being.”

Once again, Seulgi can’t help but laugh. “You’re really one of a kind, aren’t you?”

You shrug, pretending to throw your hair over your shoulder, and grin at her. It seems that your dear roommate is finally convinced at your statement and isn’t as concerned as she was at first.

But unfortunately, there is still dark clouds, almost a black hole of bad mood coming from the corner of the living room.

Jungkook is leaning against the wall, arms crossed, staring at you with such intensity it seems he can shoot you with his eyes. By the way his jaw is clenched and he grips the sleeves of his shirt, he’s having none of it.

As expected of him.

I am so grateful to everyone who helped me by reading this (most are not on tumblr), but especially my baby hana, @taestulip​, who always reads and hypes me up. the movie/book series it’s based off of is honestly one of my faves, and turning it into an adult version was a lot of fun! Of course, housing the globally recognized idol duo, SeoulM8, made working there fun. You walked into the building, and swiped your badge as you made your way through the secured entrance and up the elevator to your office. 

The gold plaque on your door highlighted your name and position. To this day you’re still in awe to see your name engraved in sans serif with the words “Lead Wardrobe Stylist” written beneath it. You entered the office, flipping on the lights and smiling at the large board along the back wall. It was covered with the designs you would need for the upcoming shoot for SeoulM8’s fan content, first single off their newest album, and plans for the concert wardrobe as well. 

Placing your empty insulated coffee tumbler on your desk, you set down all of your belongings, organizing your design tablet, notebook, and favorite writing utensils before once again taking the tumbler in hand. A cup of coffee would be perfect to start your busy Monday before your meeting with Jimin and Taehyung about their wardrobe later today. 

Walking into the employee lounge area, you set about making your coffee. Others walked in and out, dropping off packed lunches and grabbing coffee as well, so you can’t help but hear the gossip as two of the women who work with SeoulM8 discuss the latest office drama.

“I can’t believe it. She broke up with him!” Becca said, her colorful pixie cut swaying slightly as she shook her head.

“She’s crazy, Jungkook is gorgeous; have you seen his thighs?” Theresa responded, twirling her dark purple curls in wonder.

You stirred in the caramel creamer slowly, listening to their conversation. Jeon Jungkook and Jeon Somin (no relation) had been dating for almost as long as you could remember. It was surprising to hear that they were broken up.

The guitar riff crashed through the speakers, loud and chaotic, distorted to a growl that got the heart beating. Notes cascaded over each other as if chasing themselves in a circle like kids in a park. Soon after, the drums and bass joined them, high hat crashing in time with the snare, the strings of the bass slapping against fingers, pinging loud and clear. A destructive medley morphing into a foot-stomping melody that bounced off the  soundproof walls bringing a smile to Namjoon’s face.

A smile that dropped as soon as the vocalist started singing the verse.

“What are the colours of the skies really? They’re bright black when falling apart Were our drifts back then okay?”

With a scowl, Namjoon straightened in his seat, turning off the recording,and hitting the button for the mic. The band seemed unbothered as they kept playing, bobbing their heads to the music. It would be commendable how absorbed they were in the music, if they weren’t completely fucking up Namjoon’s song. He cleared his throat into the mic, thankful for the abrupt silence.

“Vince, for the last fucking time. Those are not the lyrics,” Namjoon said, only to be met with an eye roll that boiled his blood. The audacity of these rookies was too high. They had barely debuted two years ago and somehow their egos seemed to have grown infinitely larger.

The flames ignite the land of the Underworld, crackling and illuminating the battle scene where a lone warrior stands at an arena filled with the creatures of the dead.

Yet the warrior does not falter, sword in hand, not even a battle cry leaving its lips.

The animals do not go to the warrior one by one, it runs in a frenzy in a crowd at all sides, never taking a moment of hesitation. That was never a word in their dictionary, they were animals after all.

Yet at the same time, hesitation was also not a word the warrior knew.

The armor he wears causes a bit of discomfort, they can tell, as if it is a little too heavy, yet he shows no mercy as the sword cuts through each creature that comes his way. He isn’t just a fighter, he’s a dancer. His body swerves and dodges effortlessly, blade lashing through the air with the same dance. It is the first warrior they’ve seen who made no noise.

A silent killer.

The last creature dies with a harsh piercing of his sword puncturing right into its heart. He stands up, forcing his sword out of its body with blood dripping to its tip but the warrior pays no mind.

They watch him steadily, waiting until the moment the brave warrior final takes off the mask around his head and their eyes widen.

It isn’t a man. It’s a woman.
