I’ll be frank, I have issues with Chapter 7 and did not enjoy it as much as other chapters, but Chapter 8 seems to be keen on addressing them while also delivering some pretty banger material all of its own.

I think Rosmontis is fine as a character but Chapter 7 handled her like ass. No, this is not about the “she doesn’t kill people” thing, just, the writing around her is, I gotta say, kinda bad in general, especially when you consider the writing around Blaze in the previous chapter was very good. Chapter 8 is much better about it, but I’m still like “oh, not you again” whenever she shows up on screen, even though I don’t want to feel that way, and so far, thankfully, I’ve been wrong every time in Chapter 8, hers end up being nice scenes now.

The flashback parts of the chapter are very damn good and I have to commend the writers at Hypergryph for really hitting a homerun with Koschey. He had all of one scene and by god was it great. Immense staying power and memorability.
