By right, I should make Wally more child like and more innocent and simple-minded, as that's how he is. I tried to get as close to how he really is.

He doesn't really understand certain things, from what Clown has shown about his character. But in order for people to 'interact' with him, I have to make him slightly easier to talk to. You know?

He's super innocent. He's like a toddler but with a somewhat of a 12 year old understanding, like with mannerisms and with some emotions. He's a silly little guy, so be nice to him 😇😇.

He likes making friends and meeting people!!

Also, we as a community for Welcome Home have to band together to help Clown. He's going through a tough time, and we should help. Simply by not stressing him out by @ing unless needed, following his simple instructions, like respecting boundaries and keeping his IP safe. [I don't know it, I'm just saying that because apparently people have been doxxing him, and that's not cool], so send a Koi-Fi if you can. Leave a heart comment on the simplest of posts.

Introjects are not always of comfort characters

There are a lot of reasons introjects can split in a system. But in online communities, I feel like one particular reason is overrepresented to the point of being treated like the only reason introjects split:

"This character bought us so much comfort that our brain made an alter of them so they would be able to comfort us all the time!"

And it's not a bad thing that those introjects are getting represented! But when people think that's the only reason an introject can split, it leads to a lot of systems' experiences being erased, and it can lead to some untrue assumptions about a system when they have an introject that isn't from a comforting source (for example, characters that committed atrocities in fiction).

So, here's a (non-conclusive) list of common reasons for introjects to split, that I feel aren't talked about as much in the system community online:

Splitting persecutor alters who are introjects of abusers (or sometimes, characters/people who remind you of the abuser) who re-enact the abuse on the rest of the system, often with a mindset of "if i can hurt us before the abuser does, we'll be safe".

Splitting introjects of people/characters who go through similar trauma to you - this is often based in the brain (subconsciously) thinking something like "they survived the trauma, so if I can be like them, I can survive the trauma". (Keep in mind that the trauma doesn't have to be literally similar, but can have similar metaphorical themes and emotions.)

Splitting introjects of characters/people you heavily identify with, whether for trauma reasons or not - we've even split a fictive of a video game player character who deliberately has as little personality as possible so that a player can easily project onto them.

Sometimes there isn't even a strong reason for your brain to introject a specific character in particular - it's just there, and a new alter feels they need something to latch onto for a sense of identity.

Additionally, you don't have to be actively in the fandom for a source to split a fictive from it! You do have to have engaged with the source, in some capacity, at some point - it isn't possible to introject a character you're not even aware of. However, it doesn't have to be a current interest. For some systems (for example, us) it's common to introject from a source only after you've moved on from considering yourself a fan.
