i’ve been thinking about this a lot today, and i def think they’ll still be in london. maybe not in central london, but their ‘work’ is there, the transit is easier, and the anonymity is better in a large city vs smaller commuter town.

idk if it will be an apartment or like a rowhouse, the apartment seems more the modern aesthetic dan likes and phil’s floor-to-ceiling windows... but i def think they would want a yard for a dog. if it is like a rowhouse, they have either got it renovated or it was just renovated and its bright and open inside. not that the sims is their lives, but both dil’s house and dab’s flat are fairly open concept so i think thats what they like.

i think it will be mostly grey and black and white and light wood tones, like their current flat, but phil obv puts splashes of colour everywhere cause he’s phil. and they can put more bright art all over the walls and have bookshelves of games and dan’s piano in a spot where it rings througout the house. an office where they can work, a filming room. GIANT bathtub ofc, honestly i want a bathroom tour in their forever home i know it will be fancy af. they’re gonna hang photos on the walls. cause its not something theyve done before, but now they don’t need to hide them.

norman’s in the lounge, they love him too much and want him front and centre. but there’s a spare room or two ofc for guests and the future. 

This is so weird cause I’m seeing a lot of younger people who identify as mlm saying it makes them uncomfortable on Twitter and that ppl are disregarding their feelings, but I’m also seeing quite a few older mlm here on Tumblr saying that not everything is made by and consumed by women and they don’t actually care so 🤷‍♀️ idek anymore

yeah, that’s another thing. mlm aren’t a hivemind, they're inevitably going to have a variety of opinions depending on who you’re talking to. so listen with an open mind and do what feels right. you might have one opinion and then see a specific take or bit of information that makes you change your mind, and that’s cool. that’s what’s supposed to happen when you’re a self-aware person with a genuine desire to just do what’s best for everyone. so just like...go with it.

i think the truly incredible thing is how this discussion manages to Other phandom mlm even more than they already are. in this fandom and in many others, there's this vibe of "we're all girls here" that can really permeate into the general culture of the fandom and make it feel weird for mlm and nblm to participate the way they'd like to (eg calling all top/bottom jokes disgusting when in actuality many mlm and nblm make these jokes all the time and feel weird abt being told "we should all stop doing this" or whatever by women who assume everyone else they're talking to is a woman)

and now you add in something like this fetishizing argument, where suddenly mlm in the fandom are put on a pedestal to be listened to and respected - but only if they have the opinion you want them to have. that way you can act like you're being righteous in some way by yelling at others to "listen to mlm" when, what you mean is, "listen to THIS mlm talk about HIS experience". he doesn't speak for the entire fucking community. no single sample group of people will represent everyone in it, y'know, and acting like mlm are a hivemind is so WEIRD. plus, these same people act like mlm don't already participate in this fandom and have documented interest in fic and art that maybe SOME PEOPLE don't feel comfortable with is also Othering
