Look to Your Heart
If we study our own hearts, we’ll find that everything is written there.

Life is impermanent, but we think that it is permanent. And the biggest mistake is to see ourselves as a separate self entity, not interbeing with the whole cosmos and all beings.

The Quest for Buddhism (63)
The Dhammapada – Word of Truth - Part 4 [So far]
Overcoming suffering
If suffering is in sight, human beings must overcome it and move on. You cannot sink into a sea of suffering forever. Who is it that overcomes suffering? It is none other than yourself. The Dhammapada repeatedly insists on overcoming the self.
The way to make oneself one’s home, to overcome one’s self, and to practise is to do good deeds, not morally bad deeds, and to purify one’s mind. This is the basic practical principle of Buddhism, which is extremely simple and clear. The Dhammapada encourages good and severely condemns evil.
“It is better to do nothing than to do bad deeds. If you do wrong, you will regret it later. It is better to do good than to simply do something. You’ll have no regrets later.“- Buddha (Dhammapada 314)
