Found Family + Writing Prompts

found family + writing prompts

two of them start dating and automatically become the parents of the group

one of them dies and the group is never the same again

cramming into a small room, or a king-sized bed when one of them has been through something traumatic and is in need of support

having an instant connection

neither of us really have anywhere to go so i guess we're stuck with each other now

just two ''siblings'' threatening to kill each other but in the end they would die for each other, and god help anyone who tries to harm a member of the family

two members of the family are clearly in love with each other (but denying it) and each time they're in the same room, the rest of the family members look at each other like 😏 and the two of them are just like THERE'S NOTHING GOING ON BETWEEN US CAN YOU PLEASE STOP

and all the gossip about their relationship actually helps bringing them closer together because now they're bonding over their mutual hatred for their family members and their inability to mind their own business

they're all living under the same roof, and has tons of photos hanging on the walls of them together

a group chat in which they’re all sending embarrassing photos of each other, and one day, the grumpy family member has enough, so they leave the group, only to be added back in, and is sent an even more embarrassing photo of themselves (it's zoomed in this time)

a biological family member that has mistreated character A comes back into the picture, and character A's found family do anything in their power to protect them from this family member

no matter how bad of a fight they've been in, they'll always come to each other's rescue

one family member meet someone knew, and instantly ''adopts'' them into the family

character A has gotten into an argument with a biological family member, and character B reminds them how important it is to keep your family close for as long as you can (because they've lost their own family)

one character is upset one night because they feel alone, and when they say ''i don't have a family'' another character says ''you're part of our family'' and it changes everything

there's this one character who tries to keep the gang together but they all just want to see the world burn

''somebody's gonna have to walk me down the isle but i can't exclude any of you so i hope the isle can fit eight people''

character A is horrible at cooking, but no one in the family has the heart to tell them that, expect for character B, who frustrated storms into the kitchen while screaming ''YOU'RE A TERRIBLE CHEF. AND I REFUSE TO EAT ANY MORE OF YOUR NACHOS FROM HELL. HOW DO YOU EVEN BURN NACHOS? THEY'RE NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO GO ON THE STOVE''

Witchy Self-Care

*pulls out draft from over a year ago* ENJOY

Hi! this is a list of witchy self-care things you can do. Most of these are pretty basic on account that i wrote this ages ago but they definitely still work. Anyways, I hope these help :)

Do the dishes and dedicate it to your house spirit (if you have one) or a deity (if you're religious)

sweep/mop your floor in the shape of sigils

add rosemary (or rosemary water/essential oils) to the water you mop with to set an intention of cleansing

taking ritual a bath/shower

cleansing your energy. it's so basic but I forget more than i'd like to admit

dedicating time to yourself. it's just as important as dedicating time to your deities/other spirits

light shadow work or going to therapy. bettering your mental health also betters your spiritual.

go outside and ground yourself

take a nap (less witchy, more, I love naps. rest is important)

work out/stretch and dedicate it to an entity

do some gratitude

take 5 minutes to just sit and turn off your devices. you can use this time for anything, just take a second to get off screens and connect with the world around you

meditate. if you can't sit still long enough to meditate, just focus on taking 3 deep breathes

when you wash your face, draw sigils on your face with the cleanser and moisturiser

^do the same as above but with your body wash and when you wash your hair

say some affirmations/manifestations while brushing your teeth

just check in with yourself and see how you're feeling spiritually, psychically and emotionally. sometimes we don't actually know how we're feeling until we sit down and actually ask ourselves.

If anyone has any more to add please comment. I'll add them to the list (with credit of course)

Body language that conveys embarrassment

1. Avoiding Eye Contact: People who are embarrassed may avoid making eye contact with others.

2. Self-Touching: They might fidget, touch their face, or adjust their clothing as a nervous habit.

3. Nervous Laughter: Some people may giggle or laugh nervously in an attempt to downplay their embarrassment.

4. Shifting Weight: Shifting weight from one foot to another or crossing and uncrossing legs can be a sign of discomfort.

5. Covering the Face: Using their hands to cover their face or mouth can be a subconscious attempt to hide embarrassment.

6. Reduced Speech: Embarrassed individuals may become more reserved and speak less.

7. Lowering Head or Hunched Shoulders: This can signify a desire to make themselves appear smaller or less noticeable.

8. Prolonged Silence: People may become unusually quiet when they feel embarrassed.

It's important to remember that these cues can vary from person to person, and not everyone will exhibit the same body language when embarrassed.

things people do after having a nightmare that isn’t crying

struggle to catch their breath

grab onto whatever’s close enough to ground themselves in reality

become nauseous / vomit

shake uncontrollably

sweat buckets

get a headache

things people do to combat having nightmares if they occur commonly

sleep near other people so they can hear the idle sounds of them completing tasks

move to a different sleeping spot than where they had the nightmare

leave tvs / radios / phones on with noise

just not sleep (if you want to go the insomnia route)

sleep during the day in bright rooms

things people with insomnia do

first, obviously, their ability to remember things and their coordination will go out the window

its likely they’ll become irritable or overly emotional

their body will start to ache, shake, and weaken

hallucinate if it’s been long enough

it becomes incredibly easy for them to get sick (and they probably will)
