since people haven't put 2 and 2 together, then I guess I really have to explain my (G)AYS series

When I say, "I'm doing this for me" I genuinely mean it, because i see the way people talk about jikook and their dynamic

Some people praise them to high hell, romanticize every interaction, and tie everything they do to shipping.

There are so many takes on here about "I see them, I see their interactions," and it makes me wonder if they really do

Are you sure you're seeing them? or are you seeing a version of them that YOU want to see?.

because if you really saw them, you'd be able to distinguish their interactions and KNOW what's serious and what isn't

YOU'D know that not everything they do is going to be romantic, that not everything they do is SIMILAR TO HET RELATIONSHIPS

If you really saw them YOU'D see the kind of people they are and what they stand for and what they mean to each other

My (G)AYS series is to dispel the way people have decided that jungkook and Jimin are toxic to each other; it's a way for me to put the mirror in front of you and show how their dynamics, are a reflection OF YOU and how YOU perceive them, and not an actual reflection of THEM.

Because I-ME don't like the way some of you portray jungkook as this douchebag, and I-ME, don't like the way some of you portray Jimin as this damsel in distress

because THAT is the same narrative TKKRS have set for jungkook and tae and their imaginary relationship.

I use my humor and wit to get you to see logic, and to remind you that THEY ARE GUYS, THEY ARE GOING TO ACT LIKE GUYS DO. AND THAT THEY ARE ALSO FRIENDS, AND THEY ARE GOING TO ACT LIKE FRIENDS DO.

That's the foundation of their bond, FRIENDS first, and for some reason, some of you continue to view them through a heterosexual pov when they're not fucking het.

The whole point of their travel show is that it's for THEM, not for you, not for me, not for anyone else. THEY are sharing their moments with us because they want to, and y'all should consider yourself LUCKY to even be invited to see their bond.

Our only job is to enjoy the content and that's it

And if YOU go around claiming that YOU support a potentially queer couple, but in the same breath judge them for their behaviors because it's not what YOU want of them, or what YOU want to see of them, then I'm not quite sure that YOU actually support them.

when people talk about toxic jkkrs those are the people that y'all should be thinking about; the ones who let the friendship of 3 people get in the way of enjoying their bond. those are the same people who when their ship doesn't perform like the dolls they expect them to be, are the first ones to throw jungkook under the bus

"I see them, I see their bond" You don't see shit; go get your eyes checked, make friends while you're outside, get a partner, live your life, and then come back and tell me what YOU really see.

Keep Going Theory- Putting This Out There

I’m probably not the first to speculate the connection of these dots, and I haven’t been on this app much to see if anyone else posted about this. Since twt nearly set me on fire for this idea, I’ll try posting it here instead. By now it’s very obvious that Jungkook’s face appears at the end of the Who mv as well as the words “Keep Going” AND we have seen the Keep Going phrase used every time a photo is isolated in Are You Sure? Initially, when I had the fantasy of us getting a Jikook OST (my guess is they didn’t have time to record one and that’s why we didn’t get one 😥) I thought the song would be called Keep Going thus proving the spoiler at the end of the Who mv and why Jungkook is on the screen besides him being Jimin’s bf and the person his heart was waiting for.

Anyway, since then my theory is that the photobook merch is called Keep Going so it was still an Are You Sure spoiler connected to Jungkook. But no, Keep Going is an odd name for a photobook and it will be called something “normal”. I swear jikookers are so rude sometimes. Sure, hate on my theory while providing zero ideas yourself. 😒 I think it makes sense. Keep Going relates well to the theme of the show. During all the trials and tribulations of unexpected illness, clumsy injuries and no plans, Keep Going fits the theme of the photos they took. Now I really hope I’m right considering people are so quick to shut anything down. You want there to be an explanation? I came up with one that makes sense to me. But noooooo that’s dumb to you. I’m probably sensitive today but I needed this rant. I’m sick of people always raining on my parade.

I think we both know the shadows analysis isn't really insane - it's based on very basic earth science. Shadows grow longer as the day progresses because of the rotation of the earth on its axis. You sound reasonably literate so i assume you know this already.

I guess your description of my shadow analysis ( I think I'll name my next racehorse 'Shadow Analysis') as insane is an attempt to discredit the idea that a fair bit of time passed while Tae was out of the house? But that was kinda silly on your part. Even children know that shadows change as the day passes.

I'm estimating maybe 100. Double that on a good day. Maybe 300 if i write something REALLY profound which doesn't happen often.

I am way less excited about my impact on the world than you are, because I'm a realist.

BUT if by some strange twist of fate my blog came to the attention of someone whose opinion mattered (I'm not counting you, don't worry) do you think they would take it seriously? Do you REALLY imagine a random tumblr post about shadows could make someone believe that an idol was gay if they didn't already believe it?

Here's a great example of how that wouldn't happen:

You came here to tell me I'm speaking shit and that I should pull my head in, correct? My insane shadow analysis hasn't changed your beliefs at all. You're here, throwing a tantrum on my page, because you don't agree with what I'm saying, not because you suddenly believe it.

Perhaps you suspect it's true and that scares you. Maybe you can't be absolutely sure I'm wrong and that's why you need to yell at me? Could that be it? Time for a bit of self reflection?

Either way, it's not going to make an iota of difference in the grand scheme of things.

We are all just dust motes floating through time and space, my friend. You dont need to worry so much. The universe is unfolding exactly as intended.

However... There are a couple of things we should agree on:

The fact is that the shadows grew long and therefore, time passed. And Tae was out for several hours. Maybe he went out for a bit of afternoon delight himself? Maybe Jimin and Jungkook played Pokemon Go all afternoon, or prayed, or practiced their English, or braided each other's hair.

Regardless of whether they did or didn't fuck, or how many times, or on what surfaces, the time still passed.

And whether I write my blog or not, people will believe what they believe. And they will be gay or they won't be gay.

And even though I never mentioned anything about them fucking in that post, whether you like it or not Jimin and Jungkook might be fucking right now, as you read this.

One last thing...

Please bear in mind, through all of this, that fucking is not the be all and end all of life. Sure its a lot of fun if you do it right but the notion that it's more meaningful than sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings, or giving someone your time and energy, is bullshit.

You can have a roots-deep love for someone and never even think of fucking them. Or you can meet someone in a public toilet and have at it, and leave without even knowing their name.

Sex does not equal love. Fucking is not that big of a big deal.

Unless...

Unless you're fucking someone the patriarchy doesn't want you to fuck. Then its a major issue.

The need to control who we fuck is based a patriarchal need to control material wealth.

To control material wealth, the patriarchy needs to control reproduction (so they can be sure their wealth stays with their bloodline, because wealth is built over many generations) and to do THAT they need to control womens' bodies.... and to do that, of course they need to control who women fuck. And who men fuck too!

Do you know what the ACTUAL issue is with men who like dick? They don't automatically buy into the patriarchal way of life. (where's the solidarity, lads?)

Why don't they?

Because lifelong monogamy and marriage and nuclear families don't matter as much when you're not equating love with sex, and sex with reproduction. When your goal isn't to accumulate wealth and pass it down to your children.

Same thing applies to women who love women. They aren't focused on being demure and pleasing the men in power. They aren't focused on making themselves wife material. They will challenge the status quo and maybe even (shock! horror!) decide not to have children. How the heck do you make sure your money and power stays in the family, how do you build an empire, when the women are perfectly happy having sex with each other and don't want to love, honour and obey??

And whose fault is all this?

Its got to be the damned queers, right? They're making people think there might be other ways to share your life with those you care about! That's why its important to squash down gayness whenever you can, right, wdcmaxy?

Look at them destroying the fabric of society!

If Jimin and Jungkook ARE fucking every chance they get, good for them. I hope they're balls deep and breathless, hitting all those sweet spots for each other having a really good time.

While on the kayaks, JK flipped over almost immediately. this sequence will be legendary in my mind:

All is well so far. Let's go kayaking! After being assisted by the Black Hall Outfitter staff, including Mr. Gino, they take off.

At this point, staff is walking away, ready to get on a boat to follow. Everything is cool. But something's not right. Why is the horizon at a 45 degree angle?

Staff has not noticed yet...

Jungkook's $1700 Balenciaga fancy pants are about to get soaked.

Jimin does not see what's going on behind him. Yet.

I can read his mind: "WTF?"

Staff finally notices and thoughts of living on the street start to flash through their heads...

That shirt in his hands is not black. And now we know Jimin was about to put on his turquoise one. And now we know what kind of fun they'd had up to that point. And now we know Jimin was struggling with a stomach bug when this pic was snapped. And now we know that Jeep parked next to them was theirs. And now we know they were about to head to the campsite. And now we know why this photo was special enough to Jimin that he posted it on his Instagram for Jungkook's birthday. They'd just had so much fun doing something they never get to do. Definitely a cherished memory for them. It was so endearing to me. I feel privileged knowing so much about this particular day. I hope they are doing all right today...

Things I cannot relate to and will never happen to me:

• Driving over a bridge not realizing Jimin and Jungkook are the ones on those kayaks down there on the river.

• Shopping at Dick's Sporting Goods and running into Jimin and Jungkook while they shop for mens size small shorts and Nike slides.

• Sitting at a bar at my neighborhood craft brewery while global stars next to me sample several pale ales and hard sodas.

Disclaimer: Not telling you guys how to run your blogs. Just sharing some tips on how to deprive narcissists of supply and live your best life online.

You're gonna see a LOT of hate, lies, and bullshit over Are You Sure? It's already started.

And everyone has their own way of dealing with that--whether it's to take a step back from the internet, or get into a dog fight in the comments, or compose thoughtful essays deconstructing ideas. I'm not here to pressure you into any one particular strategy--your blog, your rules.

But I've been in various online fandoms for 25 years now, on tumblr for 14, in ARMY for three, and I do have some wisdom I can share, if you want it.

Here are my three tips:

De-platform

It's well past time Jikookers de-center Taekookers and antis from our spaces, our narratives--and our minds. They live in a separate reality, they do not debate in good faith, and they get vicious when they don't get their way.

Consider carefully if you want to repost, or reblog, or reply to anyone casting doubt, slinging insults, or spouting conspiracy theories, especially over the next few months.

Would you buy them ad space? No? Then don't give them an inch in your space. Quietly report and block.

Mocking them often feeds into their victim complex. Don't feed them anything. Don't bring trash in this house.

They get nothing. Nothing.

Co-opt

If you just can't completely ignore or remove them, then don't waste precious energy arguing every little point with them. Their goal is to sap your energy.

Take a page out of an aikido self-defense handbook and use their own momentum against them.

Attacks are now an opportunity to spam the shit out of that hateful post with loving hashtags and links to playlists and fundraisers.

They just gave us free promo; go full-tilt Wunseidel on their asses.

En-joy

The best revenge is to live well.

Deeply, deeply enjoy and savor the content you do want to see. Leave no crumbs. Smack your lips and hum in satisfaction with every delicious bite.

The Jikook tag should be one big non-stop party-party-yeah extravaganza from now until well past September 19th.

Antis should be just sick to death of trying to come online for fear of seeing people ecstatically celebrating everything we get, and totally ignoring the ruiners.

Our boys are happy. They want us to be happy for them. So be happy.

Do. NOT. let the ruiners. RUIN it.

I honestly think asexuals understand sexual attraction more than allosexuals because, for me personally, I have to question it every time. WHY do people give a fuck what they have to say, when they can't even stream for the artist they claim to love and support. They don't even bother to show up for his music and it's ALWAYS ARMY who has to make sure we hit our goals for Tae/ANY of the members.

WHY do people even go out of their way to argue/talk with them, and that's the thing, the only reason people think they're important or that they're "the bigger shipping group" is because people have given them the idea that they have numbers.

this was for me more than anyone else, and I will say, I feel so much better.

Our "expectations" are pretty normal.

I cannot speak for all Jikookers because, as I have always said, we are not a monolith. However, I am certain that many, like myself, do not expect to see anything different from what we are accustomed to in original content. The only difference this time is that it will be on steroids. We do not expect to see anything sexual; we do not expect to see Jimin and Jungkook kissing; we do not expect conversations about their 20-year marital life or their 50 children. We do not expect a "confirmation" of their romantic relationship. I do not understand why many believe that is what we expect to see and why those are the reasons we are excited to watch the series.

I and many Jikookers hope to see Jimin and Jungkook being happy and enjoying the little things. We hope to see them relaxed, enjoying day-to-day life, and enjoying each other’s company. We are excited because it will just be the two of them. Instead of minutes of Jikook jikooking within hours of content, it will be hours of Jikook jikooking. We hope to see a reaffirmation of their beautiful friendship. We hope to see a reaffirmation of their chemistry. We hope to see a reaffirmation that Jimin and Jungkook are essentially the same person. We hope to laugh at their antics. We hope to be as happy as they seem to have been during all those adventures because for us, or for many of us, Jimin and Jungkook together are synonymous with happiness.

Therefore, our expectations are normal. At least for me, I do not expect to see anything different from Jimin and Jungkook being Jimin and Jungkook together. My only expectation is to see Jikook jikooking.

I Never Said My Opinion Would Be Popular

You’ve been warned. Jet lag and being sick have me awake, so I’m going to give some unfiltered Muse thoughts, and spoiler alert:

Some of them won’t be popular.

Background though is that I’m not the type of person to “go against the grain” or “dislike something because it’s popular” I love BTS for goodness sakes. If I was desperate to be different, I would have picked a less popular kpop group to like the most. I generally like popular things amongst public opinion. That’s my disclaimer.

With that being said….

I am extremely disappointed with Who. I don’t like it at all actually. And it goes beyond all the hetero she/hers that’s not even my biggest gripe with it (shocking I know) the vocal mixing and autotune on the track is awful. No sugar coating it. It doesn’t sound good at all. If I had to guess, it’s a combination of Jimin singing at the top of his vocal range and it being in English that they autotuned the shit out of it to “correct” his pronunciation. It’s honestly unlistenable to me. And those that are saying it’s better than Lie?!?!?!?! I’m giving you the biggest side eye possible unless it’s only better to you so you can live your y/n fantasy with Jimin. SMFPT2 got so much hate for “autotune” that wasn’t even autotune for those that are a little familar with music production, but Who is undoubtably autotune and not in a good way at all. Now, the lyrics are also super basic conceptually uninteresting and not what I was expecting at all either. The choreography disappointed me too. Jimin is an amazing dancer of course but I was hoping we would see something more contemporary. It felt very standard kpop choreo to me. I’m shocked that I dislike Who more than Slow Dance although I think the Sofia Carson feature felt tacked on and unnecessary (and I still don’t like her voice idc) but it’s still more listenable than Who. I would skip her part if I could.

Criticism and negativity aside, the album has highlights. Be Mine is fantastic and interesting instrumentally and vocally. Was robbed of being the title track imo. Rebirth is beautiful and is Jimin’s upper register done right. And of course I love my little gay anthem of Smeraldo Garden Marching Band.

Overall, I like this project less than FACE which is fine. I think a lot of people are falling into recency bias with this album claiming it’s better, but who am I to judge. Like Crazy is still queen as a title track over Who and honestly I’m not even sure that I like Be Mine more than Filter in terms of Jimin’s Latin inspired songs. Oh well, can’t win them all. I still love Jimin regardless and can’t wait to get my blonde photocards of him and will probably do everything possible to get the lucky draw ones too.

Friendly reminder that before you attack me for my negative opinions, you can be a fan of someone and not everything they do is your favorite and best thing ever. It’s actually healthier that way…. I mean just look at the state of American politics as proof of that slippery slope…

I’m Back and Have a New Tattoo

I’ve been a bit absent on here (not that I post a lot but still) because I’ve been on my trip and it’s been so fun but I’m exhausted and ready to go home if I’m being honest. I’m a creature of habit and I’m not ashamed to admit that the flight here and the time change really took a toll on my body. I definitely want to come back, but I need a minute if that makes sense.

Anyway, the highlight of my trip was by far getting a tattoo from PolyC. I can’t believe I actually did it (I’m a scaredy cat) and that I got to meet someone who is friends with Jimin and Jungkook. He said they are very kind. 🥹 I will post a picture of my tattoo and say that I’m extremely excited for Muse and Are You Sure so I plan on being more active once the inevitable jet lag wears off.

The Best Revenge...

Beloveds, I'm just gonna say this now to get it out of the way...

Over the next two to three months, we can expect the cult and shooters to kick up a huge fuss over the Are You Sure series. I mean, protest trucks and hashtags and hate trains and all the rest. It's already starting to get nasty.

So let this Dope Old Person give y'all some unsolicited advice:

Let the toddlers have their tantrums. It's all they are developmentally capable of, anyway. Just let them have their meltdowns and writhe all over the floor.

You know what would be better than clapping back or getting into arguments? Just responding with sheer, naked, unbridled joy. Just delighting in every precious moment of that show. Make it very, very clear that such content is absolutely seen, understood, and welcome.

Spam antis with gifs and clips. Squee all up and down the timeline. Never shut up about how awesome it is. If some asshole comes after you or Jikook, just act like they asked you to fangirl with them and only respond with ample evidence of Jimin and Jungkook smiling and giggling and enjoying the hell out of each other.

Spread the love. I think Jikook would like that.

Don't get down in the dirt and start slinging mud. Don't bring up other members. Don't write haters paychecks by paying them with your time and attention. Do not waste energy arguing with screaming toddlers. Let them cry themselves out. They have to learn to self-regulate.

Meanwhile, SQUEEZE every last DROP of fun and happiness out of Are You Sure and let Jikook's undeniable bond speak for itself. Focus on giving it a warm and celebrated debut, without any distraction.

Let them keep being jealous.

I have thoughts on Jimin's SGMB

It's the gayest thing I've ever seen. And by that I mean it's joyous, light-hearted, bright, and fun. We can all agree, I think, that this

I agree with @andy-wm's thoughts and am going to use it as a base to mine, jot down a few points I would like to either add or emphasize. I could have reblogged, but I felt there was just too much I wanted to convey and better I do it in a separate post.

So let's get it.

Where where where do I start?

Maybe from the end, seeing that the song does seem to open and closes with the BTS reference.

I do agree the song is not JM singing his love to Army.

I've seen Army trying to twist and turn it around once again making it all about Army, JM telling us things he couldn't tell us before, the truth he couldn't before - that he loves army? Say what? Since when did he not tell Army he loved us? Since when was that a truth that had to be hidden? Nah. It's funny how people are getting the whole connection to the Smeraldo flower, the connection to The truth untold (will talk about that a little more later on), but are not willing to take that one extra step and see or admit what that thing JM telling us is.

There is a reason this song comes after Set me free Pt. 2!!

This is a different JM. One that decided to live his life as himself, flying away free like a butterfly.

And he connects the dots in the MV.

This is about something that was obviously hidden by him until now, something he is telling us now, a secret he is letting us in on, once he told "all the opps" to fuck off.

These lines here:

All the things we couldn't say before And your hidden feelings too I'll tell you everything now (Just for you) Don't you worry anymore Since we’re together now Let's be a little more honest (Let's go)

Clear as day.

This is about hidden feelings (and not necessarily hidden from the person he loves but from us, as we are the audience and it's time to tell us about it). Same btw with the honesty. Not that he hasn't been honest with that person he loves, but it's time to be honest with us, perhaps practice that same honesty that certain person has been trying to practice throughout 2023.

This is JM's time. JM's secret to tell.

So why, oh why the hell would it be about his love for Army and wanting to hold our flaming hands????? Please make it make sense.

Forget the fact that the lyrics are just not it. Nope. He might love army but he definitley doesn't want army, and spare me any reasoning, JM is a big boy and he KNOWS what it means when he says "I want you babe...", and it ain't him wanting Army. Nope. Nah. No way.

On top of that, by now we know that everything JM does is for a reason, and the 12 June in the lyrics is no different. This is about BTS, not Army, and the idea of the bookending, I love love love that one. This exactly:

That means the events happening in the song, happen within the context of Bangtan. Reading between the lines, the person he is singing to/about is within Bangtan.

Ah, and there is this too:

No special course in reading comprehension needed here.

Not a love song to army. If it wasn't clear from the lyrics then it's said here. A song JM wrote for army to help them express their feelings for a loved one when they are having issues doing so themselves (all part of the layering I will talk about later on).

I'll just say here that JM is the king of layering. One song and MV containing messages within messages.

One more thing about that ending frame from JM though.

These lines.

As I was watching the MV for the first time reading those lines, this is what popped straight into mind (and speaking of popping, I will get to that too, that naughty cutie, sexy, lovely man of ours and his not so innocent innuendos - yes, I do think his mind was going there):

When do you feel your heart connected with another member ?

"...when my eyes naturally meet Jimin's and we high five..."

*Side note: not JK telling us his heart is connected with JM basically all the time...

I guess JK is talking about moments like that.

When I saw/heard those lines in JM's song it felt like the one JM was talking to in that moment wasn't all of the members, but that one person standing on that stage with him, that one person that he just said all his "I love you"s to.

Oh, and a little example of nothing being coincidental and fully thought out by JM:

Ok then.

Just as @andy-wm mentioned, JM gives us hints galore throughout the whole MV as to who that individual is he is speaking to, confessing his love to (again, all while also clearly talking to us letting us in on that secret that he was hiding until now).

We have him hinting to what it ain't.

That the person in question is not of the female variety. The potentially romantic moments are only with the male characters. That "yes sir" add-on.

Ooh, I love you babe I'll come closer to you I love you, babe (Yes, sir) Ooh, I want you, babe I wanna hold your hand I want you, babe

This is no mistake. This is not in the live version only. This is part of the actual lyrics. As is.

We have him giving us hints in the staging, the choreo, the set connecting with Serendipity.

The you are me I am you in the MV choreo

And prey tell, who took ownership of that one, eh?

We have the bubbles.

And specifically JM in a bubble.

Wait, what am I seeing there?

JM in a bubble with sunflowers?

Sun-flowers?

I guess we're in the business of recreating moments then.

Not quite enough, right?

So we have JM literally using Golden hour lighting in his MV. All while the sunflowers (you know, those that grow towards the sun, and usually don't tend to open up and flourish as the sun is going down) are blooming.

Oh, and who are they directed towards if not the recipient of JM's confession? You know, the sun part of the sun and moon duo. Get with it people. You should be reciting this off by heart by now.

Oh, @andy-wm you asked and I will reply. You are not crazy AT ALL. I will say it one more time and clearly:

The sunflowers, that represent the sun as in themselves, are blooming facing towards the camera, in the direction of JM's love confession, all while doing so when the sun is actually supposedly setting, it being Golden hour.

And if it's Golden hour we are talking about, how can we forget this?

Just JK telling us JM is the love of his life during Golden Hour .

So, basically the flowers are blooming facing (because of) the individual that JM is confessing his love to - you know, the sun to his moon.

Same moon that was doing this:

And if we are already drawing the lines between SGMB and Like crazy, then how about this perhaps connecting line:

We know how personal Face was to JM. We know that every single song is him through and through. We know Like crazy is about him struggling during the pandemic.

We saw his breakdown during the MOTS ONE live streamed concert.

This was October 2020, around 6 months into the pandemic. The uncertainty. This is their first performance and from there until Muster another 9 months go by. We know from Festa 2022 that the pandemic screwed up all of their plans. the uncertainty, working on and releasing Be and then Butter and PTD everything leading up to the PTD online concert, a year after MOTS ON:E. For those that performing is their life, standing in front of an audience and giving it their all, it's a hard pill to swallow. The unknown, if they will ever get back to perform on stage in front of a live audience, when this is who they are, their essence, it can be unbearable. JM wasn't the only performer to go through this. It's just that he shared this with us.

And JK was there by his side.

And all he wanted was to make it better.

Just like he did during the concert itself.

So yeah, I do believe it's JK referenced in that song.

And Yeah, like everything JM does, this song too, and it's MV, are layered.

And SMF pt. 2 is him breaking free, flying away like a butterfly and moving on to SGMB. Now he can say what he feels out loud for EVERYONE TO HEAR. And he's telling that someone that was worried about him, that one that stood by JM's side and perhaps JM felt like he was trying to save him, that it's ok, there is nothing to worry about anymore. And unlike in Like crazy, where JM doesn't want to be woken up from that dream, and he is fighting that person that wants to save him, at this point he's eager to wake up and live each day a new with that person he loves blossoming by his side.

Same person he wrote the Letter to?

Yep. Same person.

I do believe that they are all one. Same person by his side in Like crazy, giving him a good ride, in his arms, trying to save JM. Same person he wrote his love letter to. And same person he's telling that he loves in SGMB.

And then there are these lines to consider:

All the things we couldn't say before And your hidden feelings too

Is JM confessing to that person, to us and for that person too? Telling us the feelings are mutual. Hidden until now, from us, and now out in the open.

And yes, although SGMB is JM confessing his love to that person (cough JK cough), he's already done that in a song, right? So what now?

Layering peeps.

JM is telling that person, but more so, I do believe, telling us.

Remember how Letter was hidden? Yes, we got to hear it, but it was hidden on JM's album. Like a secret that isn't to be shared with everyone. Like something that needs to be hidden. And here comes the layering again - it's hidden cause it's a private letter to the one he loves, but also hidden because it's something that cannot be revealed publicly, because he's an idol and 'not allowed' to have such a personal relationship and because the relationship itself is 'not allowed', being with another man.

And now we have SGMB. Not only is the song not hidden away, but it's out there in the open. Loud and proud. The first single released from Muse. How louder or more public can it get than that?

Ok, so feels like a good place to talk about the song's choice of name and its lyrics for a sec.

Much has been said already about the Smeraldo flower, it's meaning and The Truth Untold.

And now we have this:

"The longing to confess and find love on behalf of those unable to articulate their feelings..."

Let's talk about this sentence for a second.

One of the things we get from the MV is cupid or matchmaker JM. Not only is he telling his person how he feels, he is also helping those around him express their love. So, as usual we have a layered message, oh so like JM to do in his well thought out messages. JM 'confessing' to his love, but also to us about his love (first 2 layers) and another layer of JM helping us, his audience, to express our feelings to whomever we wish to and are struggling to do so. Oh and another layer to it all is the one surrounding all three, the one that connects to the Smeraldo flower and it's part in The Truth Untold - that part of allowing to show your true colours, your true feeling, and not be rejected for them, not necessarily by the person you love, but by those that surround you and will not accept your true self or your love for each other.

The connecting lines between the two songs.

And we know who this song meant so much to as well.

Once again, if it wasn't clear already, the one he's paired up with is Loco, sitting there on the sofa, not even dancing with him, just there all googly eyed at JM, struggling to keep a straight face. And the end, omg, that end.

No Loco. That performance was not for you. And fyi, there is only one person JM is accepting flowers from ...

That one and the same person he was rushing home to pack for their trip to Japan the next day.

Same person he chose to enlist together with less than a month later.

I have thoughts on Jimin's SGMB

It's the gayest thing I've ever seen.

And by that I mean it's joyous, light-hearted, bright, and fun.

We can all agree, I think, that this is a happy and totally harmless song. Who could criticise Jimin for declaring his love in such a sweet and innocent way?

Of course not everyone will like it, and that's fine. You don't have to like everything he does - or everything BTS does - you are an individual with thoughts and feelings of your own - I hope. But putting that aside you'd have to be a troubled person indeed to take offence at anything here.

So, it is definitely a fan song, right? Jimin is singing to his fans... isn't he?

Maybe.

But if it is (I and I'm not convinced) it's not just a fan song.

It's sweet, so sweet, but....

Maybe it's a little too sweet?

We know Jimin is CUTIE SEXY LOVELY and LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY, but let's be honest, he's also a grown man. And Army are not children (mostly). In fact we have had many many conversations about how ARMY are not children.

But this whole production is pushing the sweet and innocent barrow so hard that I can't help wanting to look underneath and behind and inside to see what's really going on because it's so sweet it's hurting my teeth.

Compare the sophistication and self awareness of FACE to the bouncy, bright and child-like song-and-dance in the SGMB music video. They are WORLDS apart and we were told very specifically that the albums were linked.

"Following his first solo album, “FACE,” where he sought to explore his true identity, “MUSE” documents his journey in search of the source of his inspiration." said the Weverse notification.

So what's really going on here?

What are you doing Jiminie?

And more importantly, why are you doing it?

You could call it a pageant, or a carnival, or a circus - with Jimin as the ringmaster.

But my view is:

This a pantomime. And it's very clever.

According to the Oxford Dictionary, a pantomime is "A dramatic entertainment,  originating in Roman mime, in which  performers express meaning through  gestures  accompanied by music." Yes, that describes it.

Merriam-Webster tells us "[A pantomime] is an ancient Roman dramatic performance featuring a solo dancer and a narrative chorus" That also makes sense.

Oxford also specified that it's a modern BRITISH tradition. "a theatrical entertainment, mainly for children, which involves music, topical jokes, and slapstick comedy." It's a perfect fit.

The British link is already there - Jimin clearly told us he's influenced by The Beatles' Sergeant Peppers Album. There's also the styling of his suit. The stovepipe pants, narrow tie, and fitted jacket are very 1960s (and 1980s) British pop.

There's something old-school about a pantomime. It harks back to childhood, and to the nostalgia of holidays. And the styling of the MV is in keeping with that nostalgic feel too - from the Mountain scene with the vintage film title, to the intertitles - or title cards , to the circular frame of the opening scene.

But back to the Pantomime itself...

A quick google search told me the following are important elements of pantomime. And we have most, if not all of them in this production.

Gender role reversal - TICK

Slapstick comedy - TICK

Colourful costumes - TICK

Audience participation - TICK (the children ARE the audience)

Exaggerated facial expressions - TICK

Take another look at the music video - it's all there.

Wikipedia tells us that pantomimes traditional told fairy tales or folk tales - often love stories - and that the primary role in a Pantomime was:

The 'Principal boy', a hero or charismatic rogue, traditionally played by a young woman in men's clothing.

Smart, very smart. With all the other conversations we've been having a round gender this is totally on the money.

Wikipedia goes on to say "Another pantomime tradition is to engage celebrity guest stars... Contemporary pantomime productions are often adapted to allow the star to showcase their well-known act.... If the star enters into the spirit of the entertainment, he or she likely adds to its overall effect"

Welcome, Loco.

(yes, I know collabs are de rigueur, but that doesn't change the fact that it fits - celeb guests are an established practice in Panto.)

So if this IS a Pantomime (and I'm not saying it definitely is but it looks like one to me), then it's intended to be a sung-story, told as much through dance and gestures as through words.

If it's a pantomime, what is it about?

I'm glad you asked! This little charade is the story of a young person called Jimin who is looking for love. He finds romance easily enough...

but real love takes a little longer.

Fortunately for our hero, he's brave (he will confess to his lover) and he is patient (he encourages them to do so too).

In between, there are shenanigans and goofing...

But our Charismatic Rogue is charming (if devilish) and wins the hearts of the audience - and his lover.

Let's take a closer look at how the story unfolds...

At the start of the MV, as the initial credits appear, Jimin is on stage vibing with his band. Loco is chilling on a rock like a lizard in the sun.

We get the ye olde intertitles, welcoming the audience and introducing.... SMERALDO Garden Marching Band

It's not Smeraldo Garden - Marching Band. It's Smeraldo *pause* Garden Marching Band. Smeraldo (secrets) has the emphasis.

After the intertitles, the scene opens on a group of children - they are ostensibly the audience of the band. They're playing paper-scissors-rock to see who will call for Jimin's attention.

The children run over to him and the tale begins.

Jimin, the main character of this story, immediately launches into song.

He starts off singing about Bangtan - mentioning their harmony (song and personal I think), he shows the Bangtan hand gesture we all know so well, and he sings "we gift happiness every day".

But he mentions June 12th.

Why June 12th?

Why not 13th, their debut day?

BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A SONG for ARMY. He's making it clear that at this point he's referring to Bangtan specifically, not the whole juggernaut of the fandom and fame. June 12th precedes ARMY.

He's made it clear from the start - this is NOT ABOUT ARMY.

Then he leans in and whispers to the children - and the camera -"lets talk about us".

Look at the kids' faces - they're miming shock. Ooooohhh! This is a big secret he's about to tell them - and us.

Look at Jimin's expression - he's just a tad smug. This is not a shocking secret to him, this is a fun secret.

Yes, he is indeed the charismatic rogue of this story.

He sings:

"All the things we couldn't say before

And your hidden feelings too (just for you)

Don't you worry anymore

Since we're together now**

Let's be a little more honest."

So it seems our main character has a LOVER. Someone who couldn't be revealed and who hid their feelings.

<Wow, I have no idea who this could be...>

Hang on, what's happening in the MV??

On his journey, it seems our young hero has a few short-lived romances. And if you look carefully, they are all with men.

He accepts the rose from a man, and plants himself on the bench right up close to .... a man. He jumps up unperturbed, and gifts the rose to (you guessed it) another man.

Jimin manages to sidestep (or completely ignore) all the women except one, who he sends graciously into the arms of a random man before continuing on his journey.

Wait one moment... his romantic partners were ALL MEN??

ALL MEN??

ALL MEN?!!!!!

Yes darling, all men. Let's continue.

So, it seems none of Jimin's previous romances grew into anything more, but he takes his own advice with his mysterious lover and confesses first.

He smirks. He flicks his jacket with pizzazz. He's ready.

He sings:

"Ooooh I love you babe,

I'll come closer to you

I want to hold your hand,

I want you babe (yessir)

Please note the hand gesture in this choreo - it's another one we've seen many times.

The dance ends and Jimin scans the surroundings and spots his old friend...

[Enter stage left: Loco]

Oh look, the friend is a rapper a few years older than Jimin. They seem to have a lot of fun together, Jimin and his rapper friend. There are ZERO romantic overtones here. This guy happily goes along with all the goofing and silliness even though he looks a tiny bit mortified. Either they are both very good actors, or a lot of the time, Loco was holding in his laughter. And Jimin seems incredibly amused by that.

They hang out together until.... something in the atmosphere changes:

The colours become richer, light become warmer, and oh look....

It's *The Golden Hour*

I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP, PEOPLE. HE REALLY DID THIS.

Jimin leaves Loco, chasing the golden light as he sings about "the dazzling sky." Golden confetti (champagne, anyone?) falls all around him and then ...

fucking sunflowers bloom.

SUN FLOWERS.

BLOOM.

FOR HIM.

<I need to lie down and process this>

SUNflowers...

Remind me again what sunflowers are known for? Oh yes, they are symbolic of the sun. Guess what else? They turn to face the sun.

Yup, the sunflowers all turn their faces toward the camera. I'm not crazy, okay?! I'm not.

SMH... let's move on.

Jimin re-joins his band, and the sunflowers do their sunflower thing, and Jimin sings:

"So tell me how you feel,

let whatever you feel

wash over you"

Then he sings

"I love you babe, (yessir)

I'll come closer to you

I want to hold your hand,

I want you babe (yessir)

Please note the hand gesture again

The bridge is next, and Jimin takes us back to Bangtan. As all the stars appear (that ocean of purple light that surrounds them at concerts) and everyone takes their place on stage, they turn up the music. <Are my eyes watering? Perhaps>

"I think we're ready now

<NGL I may have shed a tear here>

Put your hands up"

*cute wiggle-dance commences* and Jimin spots his good friend the rapper again, hiding on the sidelines. He pulls him into the chorus line and they do more silliness and everyone is having a great time.

Confetti- flower petals fall, there's laughter and happiness all around, and they bow and bid us good bye.

The show is over.

*THE END*

But wait, I am not done.

A few more things bear mentioning here:

I saw quite a few comments saying this song is for ARMY.

It is categorically NOT for ARMY. Besides the fact that we already have Closer Than This - a fan song - on this album, Jimin specifically chose a date before debut - before ARMY existed - to place in this song. No mention of ARMY at all. Accept it graciously, this is not for you.

I wanna hold your hand

This lyric is a reference not only to the Beatles song "I Want to Hold Your Hand", It's also a common theme with Jimin and Jungkook. We see them finding any feeble excuse to hold hands, shake hands, touch hands. Yes, we see you two...

I am you, You are me

The gesture used in the choreo when Jimin is singing his confession - I failed miserably to catch it in my screengrab but there's no doubt it's their "I am you, You are me" gesture. Take a look for yourself.

All Jimin's romantic moments happened with men.

I'm not saying in his life, I am saying in this MV. All of them. The only interaction he has with a woman is one brief moment where he grabs her wrist as she passes by and he swings her into the path of a guy behind him. He even scoots around the women and sidesteps them. That can't be accidental. He's making a point.

The addition of 'yessir' in the lyrics makes it clear that he's confessing to a man.

I cannot see any reasonable way to refute this. The BH subtitles include it even though you have to listen carefully to catch it. THAT IS A CHOICE, NOT AN ACCIDENT.

"Even though we're together now"

These lyrics could mean theyre an established, committed couple. But if we think a little broader than that, and a little more literally, who is he together with right now?

It's strategically brilliant.

This is his 'tell all expose' but he has built in a rock solid escape clause by using the panto format. Staging the whole love story - including the prior boyfriends and the man he's now in love with - as an over the top comedy show makes it easily dismissible as pure fiction. By including the fantasy/magical elements he just makes it more so. Deniers will be able to come up with a dozen reasons to reject this... 'It's a fantasy story', 'not all songs are autobiographical', 'he's making a point', 'he's raising LGBTQIA+ awareness'... all true maybe, but that doesn't change the fact that this is HIS song, about HIS muse. If you've been paying attention (and even if you haven't) you will know this is certainly not pure fiction.

AND FINALLY....

The most important one, I left till last. I actually want to scream this, in all caps, in the biggest font possible. But I will restrain myself.

The song is bookended by references to BTS.

That is hugely important. For those who may not be aware, this is a literary device. Bookending a story provides a start and end reference point. Here, the Bangtan bookends provide context for the rest of the lyrics - they frame the lyrics within them. That means the events happening in the song, happen within the context of Bangtan. Reading between the lines, the person he is singing to/about is within Bangtan.

This is not reaching. This is like mixing blue paint and yellow paint together. You will get green paint.

💛+💙=💚

So yes, this song is the gayest thing I've ever seen.

And I DO mean it's joyous, light-hearted, bright, and fun.

But yes, it's also absolutely and totally really really GAY

I get what you mean but I also understand why others are mad. FACE was interrupted by multiple different members releases and Jimin only had 9 days of promo before they moved on. Then, you have Jimin fans already worrying about the fact that MUSE didn’t have target exclusive, restocking (again) and etc. then, that Geffen guy being a useless pile of crap. No links. Hybe being shady towards Jimin during FACE and now this? It’s a recipe for disaster.

Regardless of what it is why now? And why always during the time Jimin releases something. This is no hate to Tae or any of the other members but to that worthless company who for some reason has a a vendetta against Jimin.

Ok to start off right away I kind of just want to say that sometimes when people say to me “I get what you’re saying” sometimes I genuinely don’t think people indeed get what I’m saying. So let me explain

You brought up the “why always during the time Jimin releases something”, and you know what, I agree with you about HYBE, they’re shit at scheduling, but I mean you’re working out a schedule for 7 people who all make 1. Individual Music 2. Music as a group 3. Music collaborations with other artists, so I’m not by any means excusing it, I’m just sharing context.

But what I don’t agree with and it’s the constant narrative that “it’s only my fave” or “just this person”, when that’s not entirely true. I bring forth receipts

When hobi released “HOPE ON THE STREET” in the middle of his album promo we also had a release from Tae for Fri(end)s

When Joonie released “INDIGO” in the middle of his promo we also had “Dreamers” for JK

What about just recently when we were in the middle of RPWP and Angel Anniversary edition was released

Did Fri(end)s deter the significance of Hobi’s album?. Nope! It was a single release and we still supported HOTS

Did Dreamers deter the significant of Indigo? Nope!.

Did Angel deter the significance of RPWP? Nope!

What I’m saying is that these things happen, it’s not just geared towards 1 member and I think that’s my point in all of this. People are getting outraged and automatically calling it sabotage when there’s a consistent pattern of music release between album drops, and a lot of the time this anger is what fuels the dislike for the members.

Now if we were to talk about sabotage then I agree with everything else, I think sometimes people come into my asks to give me information about things I already know, and I believe it is because they want to take out their anger and frustration unto others

Like I never disagreed or belittled the shit the companies are doing towards Jimin. I posted about the geffen employee, I’m keeping an eye on the album distribution and I’m also seeing the different promo tactics when it comes to MUSE

The internet has made us believe that if someone doesn’t report on every single little thing then they’re not aware. When that’s not the case, critical thinking is important, and people expect everything to be laid out for them.

I said this to my partner a while ago, that the internet is like a Zack Snyder movie. His movies are all action with no plot, mainly, because the plot is so easily explained that it leaves nothing to the imagination. It doesn’t make you think, and that’s how I see the internet.

People need to have everything laid out to them otherwise they won’t get it. But I’m not like that. I’ve always said I’m 10 steps ahead of people and it’s because I look into things on my own and I don’t follow a collective mind.

So me seeing all of the things mentioned in the ask, I said yes I know, but what does that have to do with a single release?.

People are so ready to fight and be angry about anything that they pick minor things to be mad about. That’s why I keep saying that if we let every single thing bring this comeback down then that’s what we’ll only remember

And I went through that shit last year. I was so angry all the time I regret not giving Jimin the proper attention he deserved.

I’m going to be angry about some things, but I’m not going to let others ruin this comeback for me, a song release is not going to be the thing that pisses me off.

3rd thing

Anytime Jimin releases something his solos get so fucking upset whenever OT7 brings up any of the other members. With Letter it was Jungkook, with Face is was Namjoon, people always have shit to say about BTS when it comes to Jimin

But no one has a problem when solos add connections to their other guys’ music to Jimin. There was a whole discussion about Friends x Fri(end)s, and how it was about Jimin, or how STNTY was about Jimin, when Mono dropped and we heard “Moonchild” people said it was about Jimin, etc. if we go by the solo mentality then one could say that by adding Jimin to the other members works then we’re taking the attention away from said artist and making it about Jimin instead.

And I don’t ever have people complaining to me about that, in fact it’s celebrated, “yess Jimin” “vmin cute”, and one thing about tables is they turn

That’s how solos think, and thank fucking god I’m not a solo, I’m ARMY I’m gonna support EVERYTHING BTS releases.

A pet peeve of mine has always been “this persons fans” specifically what you mentioned “Jimin fans are already worrying”, baby we need to be honest about these discussions

Because what do you mean “Jimin’s fans”

Are you talking about his solos? Or are you talking about ARMY?: because I have continuously said that it’s ARMY who is supporting Jimin not just his solos, it’s ARMY who are being loud about what’s going on with Jimin, and if you don’t see ARMY in your TL, then I would suggest curating your following so that you’re not just seeing solo based shit, because solos aren’t the only ones supporting him.

I’m tired of this differential shit. It’s either ARMY or it’s not. He never addresses his fans as anything else but ARMY, and anyone who doesn’t support ALL of the members IS an anti in my book.

What’s the outrage for really?. Like do people even know what the release is? What if it’s Scenery remastered?

People are already giving Tae shit because of a song release, and the thing is the hate Tae gets from pajamas and jkkrs is already fucking crazy. The % of jkkrs who hate Tae is concerning, it’s similar to the hate jimin gets from tkkrs. I’m not going to even open that as an argument and who’s worse, because the experiences I’ve had with JJKrs and their homophobia, makes both shippers just shit people.

So yes, I genuinely don’t think people know where I’m coming from, until I have to lay it all out.

I think that if people are going to be mad, they should, it’s your given right, but if I post something that highlights something different then idk why people get angry or think negatively of me. I’m just saying that *I* personally am not going to hop on the BTS hate wagon because I don’t see anything wrong with a song being released.

So this is how yall cope with tk being attached at the hip in solo era? Jimin was busy but was able to hang out with hobi and Yoongi. Even attended Yoongi’s concert not just once. If me giving my opinion about Taekook’s dynamic triggers you, that is a you problem and not my concern. If you and your breed decided to close your ears to the conversation taekook had on ITS, not all of us did. Didn’t Jk himself say he had been able to have a heart to heart talk with everyone except Tae? People do not have to be close to each other in the exact same way and someone saying that Taekook don’t seem to have a very deep emotional connection is not insulting their relationship because all relationships don’t have the same depth. Imagine coming to flex hangouts that happened within a 6 month period of time to people who have consistent hangouts spanning over more than 8 years. Taekook could hang out everyday from today till the cows come home and that still wouldn’t hold a candle to what jikook have done over the years, CONSISTENTLY!

Let’s Talk About Muse!

We have quite a bit of promo so far for Jimin’s second solo album Muse and it’s all very exciting! Half of the promo will drop when I am actually in Japan and Korea which is interesting!! So let’s talk about what we already know.

The crossword puzzle was so cute and so Jimin coded, and I must say, the graphics designer for this album has gotten the lead out because everything looks amazing so far. The tteobokki by JK had me grinning and giggling and kicking my feet. Like others pointed out, it was completely unnecessary for the rest of the puzzle, but we love Jimin showing off his man. His MTBI answer being cute sent me and I personally loved it because MTBI isn’t even “real” so to speak so to not put stock into it and just say cute was so Jimin.

Now let’s talk tracks! I think the pre release track sounds very interesting maybe SMFPT2 coded but less dark? is what we can expect the sound to be like. It supposed to be big and theatrical again with marching band production which I love. The rest of the songs seems lovey-dovey and happy. Not going to lie, I’m usually sad girl core when it comes to music, but if the lyrics are Jikook coded (which I think they will be) I could be down for some upbeat romantic songs. And if the hints of snow, you know what I like, and rain have anything to say about that, then yeah I think it’s safe to expect some Jikook references in the lyrics. Of course, the second a “she/her” pronoun appears every y/n homophobic stan will come out from the wood works to scream I told you Jimin is straight!! Please. 🙄

Now for one last thing I want to mention, which may be unpopular as I’ve already gotten doxxed on social media for stating my opinion about the Sofia Carson collab, which sorry to say but I’m very meh about it. I honestly had no idea who she was and before yall scream at me about some movie she was in, I don’t watch movies. I’m not a movie person. I’m a book person. And if she’s so well known for movies why a musical collab? So, I looked her up on Spotify and played a few songs. And I have to say, her voice is not for me. She has a heavy vocal fry (the kind I don’t like reminded me of Camilla Cabello) so I’m just unenthused about the collab tbh. If it had to be a female artist, I wish it would have been someone else. But the second I say I don’t like her voice, 10 people are commenting that they LOVE her. Do you? Show me any other time you have paid any interest in her career and supported her until now. Be serious. It’s the kind of thing that has always irritated me with this fandom. The way everyone always has to overcompensate when a female artist is featured. I would bet my left fake tit that yall aren’t even girls girls in real life. Not everything has to excite me. Not every voice has to be for me. And half the reason these people even hype up women features is because they see women as tools to ship their favs with so they can be straight. Not very empowering if you ask me, but sure I’m the problem.

If I had to pick tracks I’m most excited about it would be the pre release track, the title track, and probably Be Mine. And last thing I’ll say is that I don’t think that Jimin will have a hidden track this time as cool as it would be. FACE having six tracks and a hidden one to make 7 made perfect sense. Since this album already has 7 tracks (BTS coded again) I don’t think an 8th one is in the cards, but I could be wrong.

I also hope we get more photocards. I want alllllll the blonde Jimin photocards. So I’ll be on the lookout for luck draws and other POBs. All in all, the album drops when I come back from my trip so I can enjoy it without the stress of traveling.
