This makes so much sense!

As Jimin sings in ‘Who’, ‘I’ll put it all on the line’ , I feel like I’m doing that slightly here.

I did mention briefly in a previous post that Episode 6 of Are You Sure made me think a lot about the song Who by Jimin.

He mentions children quite near the start of the episode because he’s just had them in his music video and he wanted them to call him Jimin. More on the music video later, but children feature several times in this episode.

We also have the moment later on where Jimin sees the little girl and says if he had a daughter he’d cry every day because he wouldn’t want her to grow up.

What I’m about to say is just my thoughts. I like having the space to share them with the few people who’ve stumbled across my account. To be honest I’d appreciate not being shared with added hashtags because I’m not sure I’m ready for a backlash of hatred that could come from using hashtags, so I don’t use them. There are some vile humans lurking and calling themselves BTS fans. For the record I don’t think any of BTS would ever want anything to do with those people but these trolls just haven’t realised that for themselves unfortunately.

Anyway, back to my ramblings, I then had another ‘penny drop’ moment. I feel ‘Who’ is about wanting a child. The lyrics originally may have been gender neutral as we saw on a BTS Episode, but I think in the longer term Jimin may have been happy to use female pronouns for a variety of reasons, one being he’d love to have a daughter. Again, I’m not saying this is fact or ‘PACTEU’ as Jimin so endearingly said to Namjoon in the first MiniMoni episode, but these are my thoughts and I felt I’d like to share them.

I looked at the lyrics to ‘Who’ again and it made perfect sense to me. There’s nothing sexual in them, they speak of the sort of things you’d want to do for your child.

‘I’ll put it all on the line,

I’ll be that someone she can count on’

‘We never met but she’s all I see at night’

That last line doesn’t necessarily make sense when we know Jimin appears to be (is to my mind) in a relationship with JK. It does make sense if he thinks a lot about having a child.

‘Wanna give her the world’ - let’s be honest that child will have already won the lottery if Jimin is ever fortunate enough to be a daddy. What better dad could there ever be? But those lyrics reminded me of how you feel about children too. The sad question is how easy would any of this ever be for him if it’s what he wants.

The whole verse ‘is she someone that I see every day….’ is really suggestive of adoption possibilities to me.

I won’t dissect the whole song but it’s safe to say I feel it’s very parent/child (& potential adoption) coded.

I’m hugely aware the MV isn’t about this at all, but I also think that could be a very clever smokescreen, and I will say here I also think it’s JK dropping down on a screen in the MV, which I love, and I’m intrigued by ‘Keep Going’. I really am.

I re-watched the MiniMoni episode when Jimin talks about Muse and when he’s speaking about ‘Who’ he even mentions something like ‘when I meet with my friends we have an emptiness’. That seems very suggestive of an emptiness without children to me. It kind of threw me a bit originally. I don’t feel Jimin’s love life is empty at all. He has JK there. Since watching AYS their bond and closeness yells through the screen at us. I never want to claim i absolutely know, but I’m struggling now to see anything other than two men in a very long term relationship who still utterly adore each other and I feel very privileged to be a witness to their love.

I also re-watched the episode where Jimin goes to the studio to record ‘Who’ and he seems kind of embarrassed about what he’s shared and says something like ‘I feel like they’ve just read my diary’. It would make a lot of sense that he’s written down thoughts about wanting a child. I can’t currently see him writing down how much he wants a wife 🤔.

The reality though is that I can’t imagine this would ever be an easy or straight forward path for Jimin to travel down. Jimin doesn’t live in my country for example where it would be far easier.

If, as it currently appears to me, he would love a child at some point, I truly hope he is able to nurture and care for one because he’d be amazing I’m sure.

I mentioned at the start he used children in ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band’, maybe that wasn’t coincidental either if he wants to be a dad. I might argue why did he whisper to them ‘let’s talk about us’? I have never previously thought other songs on Muse could be about wanting children but now I’m re-looking at the album and wondering about elements.

‘Rebirth’ also has lyrics that I think could relate to trying to get close to a child you may one day adopt. It’s even called REBIRTH, but up until this point I’ve felt it was about embracing freedom following on from FACE and I assumed it must be JK coded but the lyrics of ‘Rebirth’ are definitely interesting and intriguing.

These are just thoughts, my main reason to write was about ‘Who’. It really felt quite clear to me after that moment with the little girl in episode 6 of AYS.

I may be completely and utterly wrong, but I’ve put them down for no one or a few people to read through and agree or disagree. Just please be nice.
