Pretty girls, they like it fancy, but you don't keep it clean We get dirty and we go hard, some things we don't mean Tell me no one's gonna get ya, I'm just straight up mad A fool in love rolled up beside me, and you're just as bad

thank you for answering my ask! :)
and yes, i also love the aquarium car with the in-house sushi bar. a close second would be the nightcar because i’m such a sucker for art deco inspired interiors with a luxe and glamorous feel.
i’m honestly excited for the show to reveal more new (and possibly absurd) sections of the train, especially since there’s going to be a season 2.
first of all, really appreciate that you've done this blog to help cultivate the snowpiercer fandom. i've read the original graphic novels and i'm a huge fan of the film adaptation by bong joon-ho. i personally think the tv series has expanded the snowpiercer universe and taking it into a bold new direction. that being said, i'd like to know out of the various sections of the train that were revealed thus far, which car/section is your favorite in terms of function and design?
Thank you!!! This blog wouldn’t be as fun to run without the people asking questions and responding to posts with their own theories/comments either.
All the sets we’ve see are so nice but I like the aquarium the most. Not only is it pretty but to be able to make a closed system that’s worked so well is a technical feat! I wouldn’t mind taking a dive in it either tbh
Thorquill Snowpiercer!AU
First, the weather changed.
When the world ended and the planet froze to death, the remnants of humanity boarded a massive locomotive perpetually circling the globe to escape an icy demise.
A select few paid handsomely for the privilege to continue living in luxury on board this Great Ark. Some were chosen and granted passage in exchange for valuable labor skills. So many others weren't so lucky, having to force their way in for survival.
Not all of the desperate stowaways made it.
What was once a global population of countless billions is now reduced to a pitiful three thousand; crippled by their greed and hubris, trapped in a marvel of extraordinary engineering that is endlessly in motion, around and around it goes without end, traversing frozen wastelands with impossibly cold temperatures that can kill all manner of living things in seconds.
This is the miracle caravan powered by the Infinity Engine and invented by the wealthy and visionary transportation magnate, Mr. Thanos.
His sacred train runs on two key principles: order and balance.
From tip to tail, every single passenger should always be in their rightful place.
Except for two survivors separated by class and circumstance.
Thor Odinson resided in First Class. Peter Jason Quill lived in the Tail Section.
The former has lived a life of excess, comfort, and hedonism before and after the world succumbed to the Freeze. The latter had to fight for his right to survive, only to live a life of squalor, misery, and inhumane treatment from the powers that be.
The distance and difference between them was greater than the impressive length of the railway track itself.
And so it was that on the seventh year anniversary of the megatrain's maiden departure, the paths of these two men would collide in the most unexpected of times: the annual Fight Night.
For the egotistic elites of the train, it functions as an entertaining spectacle and a space to flaunt their obscene extravagance towards the less fortunate. For the downtrodden plebeians who serve the Engine Eternal, it offers a golden opportunity to rise above their station: the winning victor is awarded a full upgrade and access to Second Class plus all the entitlements therein.
Their fateful encounter during this event would change history and defy everything that Mr. Thanos has strictly enforced within his moving kingdom.
This is the forbidden love story between Thor Odinson and Peter Jason Quill: two star-crossed souls aboard the Snowpiercer, one thousand and one cars long.

“Why are we even doing this, Thor? Why would you even love someone like me?”
“I love you, Peter, because you’re mine. I love you because you need love. I love you because you deserve so much more than your life in the Tail. I love you because when you look at me, you don’t see me as this uncaring asshole from First Class, and that I possess the power to change things for the better. I love you because you made me realize that there’s something worth living for in this dead world. I love you because when I touch you, I feel more a man than any other man confined on this goddamn metal prison.”
“Awww... I love you too, dickhead.”
“And why do you love me too?”
“I love you because when I touch you, I make you feel more a man than any other man confined on this goddamn metal prison. I love you because I might be a freeloading scumbag from the Tail and yet you still love me. I love you because despite all appearances, you are not like the other bastards living it up in First Class. I love you because your heart is willing to defy order and balance just to prove your love to me. I love you because... to understand our love, they might have to derail this train.”

So yeah, I combined my two obsessions into one crossover.
Dedicated to @xthorquillx + @thegoodshipthorquill and @snowpiercer-live-blog + @quietparanoiac for doing the Lord’s work on fueling my love for Thorquill and Snowpiercer. Go show their Tumblrs some love! :)

Hi! Would like to join this discourse as I may be able to shed some light into your questions. :)
I’ve read somewhere (I forget whether it was an actual interview by the showrunners or a Reddit fan theory) that even before the Freeze, the Snowpiercer already existed was originally a luxury cruise megatrain that circled the world and had certain stops in its circumnavigational itinerary. Given that Wilford Industries is a transportation empire, this makes sense for them to do as a business before the world ended since people love the novelty of railway travel, especially if it has the ability to visit multiple parts of the Earth rather than just being confined to one continent.
Also, one of the promo videos they released on social media before the show aired was a fictional advertisement of sorts which gave the impression that Snowpiercer was meant for leisure travel and not as a last-resort option to survive the apocalypse. I’m sharing the link below, so everyone reading this can see what it looks like.
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=528868327791582
In the opening title sequence to the show, there’s a brief part where it actually showed the route of the train, how long it takes to complete one full revolution, and the destinations that Snowpiercer passed through. Sharing the screenshot I have of it below for reference so people could look at it closely. The route that the anon mentioned checks out judging from the line passing through the map, the red dots marking certain places, and the names of international cities listed on the side with their estimated days of arrival.
When plans were announced to cool the atmosphere to counter global warming, Wilford knew that it wouldn’t work and that’s when he began to reinforce the tracks to help it survive and last in sub-zero conditions, as well as retrofitting the train by transforming Snowpiercer into a habitable ark and giving it the perpetual motion engine (which doesn’t exist because obviously, the Laws of Thermodynamics, but suspension of disbelief since this is science fiction) it needed to run nonstop and harness kinetic energy.
Given that Melanie mentioned in Episode 6 that she “designed” the train, not to mention her engineering credentials from Yale and MIT, she probably was involved in the process from the very beginning to ensure that Snowpiercer’s makeover from luxury cruise train to the last bastion of humanity would be seamless.
Snowpiercer's maiden departure was from Chicago and the train moves around the world by this route: from the American Midwest going down to Central/South America, circling back up to the North American East Coast, passing the Arctic Ocean to enter Europe, which then goes down to circle the African coasts, entering Asia via the Middle East, then crossing through Southeast Asia into Australia, going back up to East Asia which then heads to the United States via Alaska/Canada and back to Chicago.
The thing that always got me about the tracks was why did it have to travel to all over the world, like it seems like a big expense when one could just as easily keep the train moving by going through the just one land mass. Also what happens if the track breaks somewhere? There’s no alternative and you’d be doomed to derail. If anyone knows more about it please share you knowledge.
"Is it just part of the process? Well, Jesus Christ, it hurts!”
