Here’s the reality when it comes to being in a relationship and the shit that goes through your mind when you’re in love: it’s not always amazing.  

In fact, there are several times where you need to remind yourself that you do, in fact, love the other person, and that the love you have for them is unconditional. Too many times, you’ll find yourself repeating the mantra in your head, trying to focus on their more positive qualities: like their smile, their laugh, the way their hands fit in yours, how they take care of you when you’re not feeling your best. Shit like that. Shit that’ll make the red fade from your vision and that’ll remind you that you’re in it for the long haul, because you love their negatives more than their positives. Pushing through the hate to the love.  

You gotta remind yourself of that.  

Which is exactly what you and Ethan are both trying so fucking hard to focus on right now.  

See here’s the thing: Ethan’s list of things he loves more than anything in the world is pretty short. It’s pretty much you, gray, his mom… and his Jeep. The dude loves his Jeep. He worked hard for it, got it customized just for him, it’s like his baby. And he’s so annoying about it.

But, he loves you. And he’s whipped for his girl, more so than for his Jeep, so when you’re on the way home after some early morning meetings and you’re begging him for a Starbucks stop, it only takes a little bit of arguing for him to finally give in. He just has one single request, that comes off as a threat.
