But Why Does No One Talk About Pining Shiro?

I have a bone to pick with the Sheith fandom. Everywhere in this fandom I see Keith freaking out about Shiro, which I will admit is completely canon. But you know what else is canon?

Shiro’s bias for Keith.

I know that it’s seems subtle, but it’s not at the same time. I rewatched Voltron Season 1 and 2 before Season 3 because I noticed that I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to Shiro the first time around. A lot of his lines are pretty generic-leader-type, but during me rewatch, I noticed that his character cues weren’t. So, without further ado, here begins my long meta post about how Shiro is pining after Keith.

I just had an idea that might either go really bad or really good.

Lb gets thrown back in time because of something (mayby Haggar did something. Or the lions/Sinciline) and they meet past paladins. It can be a time before the comet strikes or when Daizabaal is to be destroyed but I think it would be the cutest if they were thrown into the time when Zarkon and Honerva started kind of dating because I think I would be hilarious.

All of them know Zarkon as this monster, conqueror, cold emperor but there he is. Trailing after Honerva like a puppy and blushing when she smiles at him.

(Also, I'm 100% sure that after they got married, Zarkon forgot he was an Emperor and only introduced himself as "Zarkon Honerva's Husband" and none of the paladins ever let him forget it)

okay but hear me out.......................... they get thrown back to that very specific point where tensions are rising but Zarkon and Alfor are still roughly on the same page,,, and Lotor is the galra equivalent of four or five,,,,,, and this kid is utterly smitten from the moment he first lays eyes on Keith. So while Allura & Coran are overcome with a very complicated mix of joy and grief, and the paladins (past and present) are all focused on not fucking up the timeline (or maybe trying to fuck it up in a good way?? can they do that??), smoltor is really out here stumbling over his own puppy love as he tries repeatedly to get the most beautiful man in the universe to take his proposal of marriage seriously.

Meanwhile, our Lotor is quietly dying of embarrassment because he's already got enough to deal with seeing as the ghost of what his parents once were is - you know - right there along with the entirety of Altea in its prime, but now his childhood self is highkey making more progress at winning Keith's affections than he himself????
