Azriel’s POV
Azriel stormed through the doors to the forest house as his rage took over. Y/n was here, she had to be. Elain had left without a word and that’s when he realized he’d made a very big mistake. He’d been entranced by Elain, following whatever she said without question.
Azriel can’t you see? The mother made a mistake. We are meant to be, look at this, look at me. However we can’t be us with y/n still out there, poisoning your brain. You have to reject the bond. For us. Three brothers, three sisters right?
And he’d listened he’d rejected the bond as if the mate the Mother had given him was nothing compared to Elain. He’d tried to reject y/n in a nice manner but when she’d asked why, he’d given up and became rude and angry. So y/n had left, the remaining bit of the bond shut off and tucked deep inside her. But Azriel could still feel her heart break. Still feel the pain and hurt and betrayal.
And he hadn’t cared.
Until Elain had left, hardly a week after he’d rejected y/n. She’d disappeared to the band of exiles and hadn’t said a word. Not to Azriel, not even to Feyre or Nesta. But Lucien had come later and said Elain had just shown up at his doorstep in tears, going on about how Azriel had broken her heart. Azriel had told him his side of the story and the two males had worked it out. Now he presumed, Lucien was trying to understand Elain.
After that they’d all spent a while searching for y/n. Now Azriel np knew she was with Eris and damn him if that didn’t hurt him to his very core. Was he truly so bad that she’d gone to Eris for help?
As he let the autumn court soldiers surround him, he pushed down his raging feelings and calmed down enough to speak to the captain. “Will you get the high lord for me?”
The captain eyed him for a moment before turning to head up the stairs all while muttering, "we might be allies with the night court but wasn't there a rule about notifying 3 hours before visits?”
Azriel grimaced, he'd forgotten about that but it was too late now. He watched the soldiers move back in place before glancing out the window. The moon was just now starting its descent shining on the misty forests of red, orange and brown.
Soon he heard two pairs of footsteps and the captains voice reached him, "-ed in. Not sure what he wants but he asked to see you and I figured it must be important so I got you."
Eris and the captain appeared at the top of the stairs as Eris dismissed him. The captain bowed, "High Lord", before scuttling away.
Eris groaned his voice raspy from sleep, his hair tousled from being woken up. "To what do I owe this lovely visit at the crack of dawn?"
Azriel grimaced, he hadn’t even looked at the time before coming here and waking Eris up. “My apologies High Lord,” he bit out, bowing his head slightly.
Eris raised his brows, “trying to get on my good side so I’ll let you see y/n? It won’t work shadowsinger, it’s all her choice.”
Azriel didn’t bother looking pleasant, “go ask her then.” At Eris’ frown and obvious hesitation he added, “please, I’m begging you, please.”
Eris sighed, running a hand through his hair, making it all the messier. “I’ll do it for her, not you. The two of you need to work it out before she can move on. But if you hurt her shadowsinger….” His face turned cold as steel and he glared to emphasize his point.
Azriel bowed his head in understanding, “Thank you, Eris.” And he meant it, he truly did.
And as Azriel watched Eris walk away, he thought maybe, just maybe, he might be a good male.
*****
Eris’ POV
As Eris opened the door to his bed chambers he thought of how broken the spymaster had seemed. And he felt a sense of sadness and sympathy for the bastard which didn’t bode well with Eris. He never sympathized so why now for Y/n and for Azriel?
He strode to the bed and shook Y/n awake, she glared at him through her lashes and through a weak right hook at his head. Eris let it hit before pulling her to her feet. “He’s here, he wants to talk and he looks truly sorry.”
This woke the female up fast and she cursed, striding into the closet and changing. The past week she’d started to open up to Eris and talk about what happened, she’d come to his room and each night he would hold her and comfort her when she woke up crying. He was her rock, her friend in this cruel world.
Only he wanted more.
He wouldn’t pressure her in any way to do anything she didn’t want to but this talk with the spymaster had to happen sooner or later. He still wasnt sure why she’d come to him after the bond had been rejected. They’d met a few times at meetings and had been on good terms despite the trouble with Morrigan but otherwise they weren’t good enough friends for Azriel’s rejection. Not that he was complaining, he’d felt drawn to her the moment they’d met, like how mates were drawn together. But that wasn’t possible right? For one to have two mates, but it’d certainly explain why she’d come to him and why Eris had felt sympathy to both spymaster and female.
It isint possible he chided himself as she stepped out fully dressed in camouflage armor. The phrase repeated in his head. Not possible. Impossible (improbable for Nikolai fans) Not possible, no way, not two mates.
but what if it was?
*****
thanks for sticking with me through this horrible prologue. You’re all amazing and supportive but I hope you will understand that I’m stressed with college and everything (I’m in my last year of hs).
y’all have a week left until requests close.

I Didn't Ask For This (part seven)
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
Summary: Marriage had always been something sacred to little Y/n, something dream like, where her husband would come and whisk her away to a fairyland. At least, that's what she had always thought.
All her dreams would be shattered.
But maybe she can salvage them?
•○●⛦●○•
Tw: forced marriage, none more that I can think of, so let me know if I need to add anything.
A/n: Thanks to all the anons who gave me ideas for this! I love you all soo much. Also, the dress is not too scandalous (because girlie would have a heart attack if it were) but enough to make him drool😉
And, also, this one is mostly Nesta and reader's friendship and fluff, but there will be an angsty part soon where babygirl slaps babyboi so bear with me.
Edit: Okay yall, the thing I wrote above? It was before I started writing, and now, let me tell you, there is some angst and sadness too, near the end. I was actually planning for the parts from now on to be mostly fluffy, but this new story line is pretty good too, and filled with angst 😌 and who doesn't love some angst?
•○🌑○•
Y/n sat calmly on Nesta's bed, sipping tea as Nesta threw her clothes out from her wardrobe, searching for something she deemed suitable for the dinner date Y/n was going on with Azriel.
Y/n was going to wear one of her everyday dresses, but when Nesta was told about the dinner, she started panicking as if Y/n was going to a war.
When Y/n said as much, Nesta had flicked her hair back and said, 'there is not much difference between the two. You always take part in it to win.'
And of course, no one could argue with Nesta, so here they were.
Finally, after what seemed like eternity, Nesta came and plopped down next to Y/n, sighing. Y/n set aside her empty tea cup before turning to her.
"And? Did you find something that suited your preferences?" Nesta shook her head sadly before she sat up, excited once more.
"I can ask Mor for something."
"Nesta–"
Y/n didn't have a chance to speak before Nesta was running out of the room. Y/n shook her head and leaned back against the headboard, thinking of what would happen at the dinner.
Soon, Nesta had come back with a black fitted dress. It would have been okay if not for the thin straps that were holding it up and the neckline that concealed nothing.
"You want me to wear that? No. Not happening."
"Come on! It's a beautiful dress! Just for tonight. I won't force you to wear anything again."
Y/n contemplated for a moment before shrugging and taking the dress. When she had changed into it, Nesta forced her to sit in front of the vanity and started doing her hair. It was so elaborate that with every passing moment, Y/n's fear of whether she'd be able to undo it herself increased.
Only time would tell.
•○🌑○•
"Okay, so let's go over this again. If he tries to do something you don't like, what will you do?" Nesta stood next to Y/n, ticking things off on her fingers. She'd been at it long enough that Y/n wondered if she should just go to sleep and cancel the dinner with her husband.
"Nesta! We've been doing this for the past couple of hours! I get what you're trying to say!" When Nesta just stared at her, Y/n sighed. "I tell him I don't like it?"
"No! See, you say you understand what I'm saying, then get all the wrong answers!"
"Then what is the correct answer?"
"You kick him between the legs and run away–"
"Nesta, no–"
"Nesta yes. That's what you will do. Understand?" When Y/n nodded exasperatedly, Nesta continued. "Let's go over this again because you don't pay attention to me. Okay, so–"
Footsteps sounded and Azriel appeared. And, even though Y/n wasn't really excited or interested in going out with him, she still sent out a prayer of thanks to the Nother. Because the longer he took to come, the longer Nesta would go on and on about the subtle art of kicking males.
He suddenly stopped short, his eyes surveying Y/n from head to toe. His lips parted as he slowly looked up into her eyes. His pupils were blown wide, his neck and face flushed. He held a bouquet of flowers in his slack hand. He was wearing a finely tailored suit, which fit him in all the perfect ways, showing off his powerful and beautiful body.
Nesta suddenly snapped her fingers, effectively bringing out the couple from the daze they had been in.
Y/n looked away, blushing, as Azriel cleared his throat. He extended the bouquet to his wife, his face becoming redder as she took it. "For y–" He began, but Nesta cut him off.
"She knows it's for her, obviously."
Azriel blinked, taken aback, before nodding. "I think it'd be best if you–"
"You want me to keep that in your room? I doubt you'd be able to do much with those flowers in your hand." Nesta cut in again, not bothering to hide her glee. Y/n nodded slowly, her eyes jumping between the two in front of her as Nesta took the flowers from her. Azriel stared at a spot behind Y/n, his jaw hard.
"I think we should get–" As he began, Nesta spoke up again, to no ones surprise.
"It's getting late. You should leave–"
"Nesta." Azriel said in a dangerously soft voice, a muscle ticking in his jaw. "Don't you have something to do other than talk about kicking a male and interrupting people when they talk?"
Nesta stared at him, indifferent, her eyebrows raised. Y/n looked away, hiding her small smile behind her hand as she pretended to facepalm.
Finally, after the battle Azriel was engaged in ended–thank the cauldron– he stepped forward and held out his hands. Behind him, Y/n saw Nesta wink at her with a mischievous grin. Y/n smiled back, shaking her head an she took Azriel's hand and he pulled her closer.
They took off into the night air, his hands clutching her tight. The flight to the place he had decided was quiet.
As soon as they landed, he offered her his arm, which she eyed suspiciously before turning away. She could practically feel his embarrassment, self consciousness and awkwardness as he lowered the arm and led her to a table in the back.
From the looks of it, this place was expensive. From the numerous chandeliers and the seating to the cutlery and the finest details on the walls and the designs and the architecture, everything screamed expensive.
He pulled out a seat for her, but she walked to the other one and sat herself down. His face was red a he sat down opposite her. As they ordered their food, Azriel asked the waiter to not use peas as Y/n wasn't really fond of peas.
Y/n's eyes were slightly wide as she regarded Azriel. How did he know? When she said as much, he smiled and explained, "I remember you used to complain about how much you despised peas."
"My preferences could have changed." She pointed out.
His smile faltered. "I'm so sorry, I just assumed–"
"It's okay." She cut him off. "I still don't like them."
The dinner was mostly silent despite Azriel's continuous efforts. Whenever he said something, she just hummed or nodded. When he asked her something, she gave short one word answers.
She didn't want to talk to him, and even though she had agreed to have dinner with him, there had been no promises about talking to him. So she stayed quiet, focusing on the food and occasionally finding him staring at her outfit, his lips parted or him biting them. When he realised he was caught, he would return to his food, his face redder than before.
And, despite her initial resentment of the dress she was wearing, she didn't regret wearing it, if it meant she would get to see this flustered side of him.
Soon, they were done and leaving the restraunt when he spoke up.
"Would you like to take a walk and explore Velaris?" From the look in his eyes, he expected her to say yes. And she would've if she didn't hate him. But she did, and so she wanted to spend minimal time with him.
"No. I would like to go home."
"Oh– okay." He looked away for a moment before picking her up and leaping onto the air. While the ride to the restraunt has been comfortable, the ride back was anything but. It was so tense that a blunt knife could have cut through it.
When they landed on the balcony, she turned to walk away. The tension finally exploded. Or Azriel did. Same thing.
He caught her wrist and tugged her to him, her back against his front as his arm wrapped around her, just below her chest.
"What's the matter with you?" He murmured in her ear, his hot breath washing over her face.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She grunted, trying to get free.
"Is it Nesta? Did she tell you to ignore me?"
"Obviously not. Why would she–"
"Then why? Why have you been so cold towards me? Can't you see I'm trying to make this work? You're making it difficult to–"
"I'm just doing what we agreed to. You wanted to have dinner with me, I did. There was no mention of talking to you."
Finally, she managed to free herself from his suddenly slack hold, and when she turned to him, her chest heaving, she found him gaping at her.
"Are you serious?" He whispered, emotions swirling in his beautiful eyes.
Y/n looked away, knowing she was hurting him. But she couldn't help it. She couldn't hand her heart over so easily, knowing if she did, he would have the power over her, and she couldn't let anyone have that power, not so soon after having her first taste of freedom.
He started laughing, her head whipping to him. He took a step back, then another, turning as silver lined his eyes. He leaned on his palms that rested on the railings, shaking his head, grinning like a maniac. He was quiet for a few moments.
"If you don't want to give me a chance, then just say so. I'll leave you alone. Don't need to pretend–"
"I wasn't–"
"Don't. Fucking don't. I get it. You don't want to be with me. You don't even want to try. Just say the words and I'll leave you alone. Don't need to toy with my heart."
"And what of my heart, Azriel? What if you break my heart?"
"I won't! Why do you think everyone, I, have an obsession with breaking your heart? Why–"
"Because you have done it before Azriel! And I don't think I could handle another heartbreak–"
He whipped around, stepping into her, making her crane her head back to look at him. His head was bent to look at her, their noses nearly touching. "I apologised for that already! And I'm trying to right the wrongs! What else do I need to do to gain your trust? Will hurting me help? You know what? Here." He pulled out the only dagger that he had on him and wrapped her hand around the hilt. She tried to pull away, her eyes wide and her heart beating loudly. But his hold was firm as he put the dagger to his chest, his eyes blazing.
"Stab me. Hurt me. Kill me if that's what it takes for you to–" He didn't finish the sentence, his chest heaving. "Do it." She shook her head, her eyes prickling. He huffed and turned away again, leaning on the railing. "Leave, Y/n. And don't worry, I won't bother you again."
Y/n's chest caved at the emotion in his voice, which shook and broke on the last part. She didn't mean to hurt him, and she knew she should clarify why she couldn't trust him.
Her hand rose, shaking.
But just before she could place it on his tense shoulder, she stopped. Would it help? If she told him the reason, would it mend the wounds she had unknowingly inflicted? She didn't think it would.
So she curled her hand into a fist and let it drop back to her side, stepping back and turning away. She needed some time alone, both of them did. She'd talk to him tomorrow.
And as she walked away, she let the tears slip from her eyes.
But she didn't know that behind her, her husband also let the tears flow, his heart aching.

Hi anon! Thank you so much for this! (First time’s the charm)
Swimming! I really love swimming and every time I dive into the water it’s like a rush of euphoria!
Reading! My ideal morning or evening is curled up on my couch with a book and some type of drink. I like to read many things like fan fics, books, reports etc.
People liking my posts. When I post something, say a fic or a picture it fills me with such happiness that people see it and enjoy reading or looking at it. Or people following me just fills me with joy!
Things like this. Whenever I get something like this or get tagged in something, it reminds me that some people actually think about me (however brief) and would care if I died or left or something bad happened. It’s not necessarily happiness but it still feels good.
Puzzles. I love using my brain on things like murder mysteries or jigsaw puzzles or a game like Clue. It fills me with excitement and lead to happiness when I solve it (because I don’t give up till I solve it, I’m persistent.)
Memories - Azriel (Cassian's POV)
In which Cassian recalls how Azriel knows that Cassian would feel it in his chest if Nesta had died in the Rite.
A/N: Just a little something that was in my head. Does this count as Angst? I think it does! I've taken some liberties with the battle in ACOWAR.
W/C: 1K
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"You'd know if she'd died," Azriel said, pausing his work and looking up at Cassian. He tapped his brother's chest with a scarred hand. "Right here - you'd know, Cass." Cassian let out a breath at the Shadowsinger's words. In his fury, in his dread, his worry over Nesta and Feyre and Rhys he'd almost forgotten how Azriel would know that. At his brother's words he was taken back to that fateful day just over a year ago.
Cassian stood on the battlements of the crumbling castle with his brothers. The three of them were bloodied and bruised. Rhys drained almost all of his power in their last stand. "We can't win this." Feyre half sobbed into Rhys' shoulder, clinging to her mate, savoring what she thought were their last moments together. Both of their eyes unfocused and Cassian knew they were saying their goodbyes. He felt more than saw Azriel tense next to him, he knew who Azriel was looking for, his mate who he hadn't seen since their argument the night before over Elain.
Nesta was next to him. If this was his final moments, he was glad she was here, he'd go down before her, he'd go down for her. Nesta gasped and the entire family turned to look at her, she lifted a shaking finger and pointed to the field, empty of the living, both sides having pulled back for a brief reprieve. "Who is that?" Nesta whispered. Something was approaching in the sky, it was bigger than any creature Cassian knew and as it got closer he could see someone was riding atop it.
He saw the talons and scales first. Then he smelt death, fire and brimstone as it flew directly towards them. "It's not possible." Rhys breathed. "It can't be." Amren murmured back to the High Lord. "They went extinct a millennia ago." Sweet Elain let go of Nesta's hand, took a step forward and breathed one word. "Dragon."
Azriel had gone completely still next to him, Cassian knew his brother had figured out who was atop the beast flying for them. He looked to Rhys, who met his eyes and joined Cassian in flanking their brother, they knew what was coming before it came.
The murmuring of the armies behind them grew restless and the energy nervous as three other dragons flanked her. All smaller than the one she rode but Cassian knew he wouldn't want to face any of them as he finally saw the beast up close. Azriel's mate hovering In front of them all. Azriel took a step forward, breathing her name in a plea. Wordlessly, Cassian and his brother both placed a hand on Azriel's shoulder, ready to act when they needed to, Feyre also ready to keep Azriel with them. The beast let out a grumble from deep in its chest, a sound that promised death Cassian thought.
She smiled at Azriel then, wild and feral, Cassian knew it was his brother's favourite. "Live, Azriel." She said and turned to Elain, "Look after him Seer, keep him safe. Don't let him destroy himself." He and Rhys tightened their grip on their brother as Azriel realised her plan and started to pull away from them. Cassian had never heard Azriel sound as broken as he did when he repeated her name. "You found me, Az, living like a wildling in the Middle, you gave me a life and taught me everything, now you must live. My friends and I will buy you the chance to do that." A single tear ran down her face. His little wildling is what Azriel called her, Cassian recalled. "Let's go." She spoke quietly to the beast, she took one last look at Azriel who was fighting to get to her now. "I love you, Azriel." And she was gone, flying towards death on the back of a beast that shouldn't exist.
They watched it happen, Rhys had one of Azriel's arms, he had the other. Varian had helped them restrain him, it was the first and only time Azriel nearly broke both of their holds on him. They watched the smaller dragons fall first, having taken massive parts of Hybern with them. Azriel's knees gave out when she finally went down, then he began to scream. Cassian had never heard a sound like it, not from his brother, not from anyone. Azriel lost all fight then as he collapsed, Mor was there instantly, cradling him like a babe, Elain nearby, Feyre doing her best to offer soothing words. Azriel clawed at his chest as the bond faded, then the pain of it took his consciousness completely.
She'd done what she had promised she'd do and she'd bought them a chance, they formed the lines one final time, Amren and Feyre going for the cauldron. Mor had winnowed Azriel and Elain back to camp and left them there and she returned to join the lines. Rhys gave them one last command before they advanced. "Bring her home. Prythians savior deserves to rest at home."
Cassian came back to the present to find Azriel giving him a knowing look, as if his brother knew what he'd just re-lived. Neither brother said anything for a moment and then Cassian asked, "How do you do it? Go on?" Azriel stopped sharpening Truth Teller and sheathed it at his thigh, "Because Rhys commanded me too." Cassian hadn't known that. "I still see her every night, re-live that last argument and I watch her die, feel her die." Cassian had no words for his brother. "Nesta will not meet the same fate." Azriel told him.
Cassian threw himself at his brother and Azriel allowed a rare hug. He needed Azriel to know he was sorry for his loss, needed him to know that he was so thankful everyday that he was still here and needed to thank him for his words and reassurance but he couldn't find the words, so he held his brother instead and sent a prayer to the Mother for Nesta, for Emerie and Gywn and finally for his brother, that he might know love again one day when he was ready.
