The sash, or 'obi' of a kimono is basically always tied in the back. The reason Oiran wear their sash in the front isn't because it’s make it easier to disrobe— tying the sash in the front was actually fashion from the Heian period (794-1185). When Geisha were banned from participating in prostitution so as not to take customers away from the Oiran, they started tying their sash in the back as a way to set them apart from courtesans and other Yujo (general term for prostitutes). And people just started copying the fashion of Geisha!

WAIT. Looking at the new outfits closer, it supports the theory I had earlier when the first chibi sprites were leaked that we might be getting a new school like an rsa or noble bell situation? number one, they’re all obviously wearing some sort of uniform. they also have a little insignia on the left of their chest that depicts the cliff Jack stands on. this could probably be a school of some sort based on Halloween town or the Pumpkin King and (MAYBE) the headmaster is Jack himself? this is ALL speculation though, do not take me seriously especially if I’m very wrong. but I feel kinda right. and Skully seems like some sort of apprentice to Jack, or they seem to have some sort of significant relationship.
