It was one of those quiet winter afternoons, the kind where the snowflakes drifted lazily from the sky, dusting the world in a soft, glowing white. You sat by the large bay window in your cozy apartment, a cup of hot chocolate nestled between your hands. The warmth of the drink contrasted the chill that seeped through the window panes, and you felt a strange sense of calm wash over you. Outside, the world was still, the muffled silence of winter creating a perfect backdrop to your thoughts.
The door creaked open, letting in a brief gust of cold air before it was quickly shut again. You turned your head, and there stood Jongseob, wrapped in his thick winter coat, his face flushed from the cold but bright with a wide grin.
"You're back," you said, feeling a smile tug at the corners of your lips.
Jongseob kicked off his boots and shuffled over to you, his hands buried deep in his coat pockets. "It’s freezing out there, but I brought something to warm us up." He revealed a small bakery bag, steam rising from the top, and the familiar sweet scent of cinnamon filled the room.
"Cinnamon rolls?" you asked, already knowing the answer.
"Fresh from the bakery. Thought they’d go well with that hot chocolate you’re hogging over there." He chuckled and handed you the bag before taking off his coat, tossing it carelessly onto the nearby chair.
You placed the cinnamon rolls on the table and poured another cup of hot chocolate for him. As he sat next to you, the two of you gazed out at the falling snow, sharing a quiet moment of comfort. Jongseob leaned his head on your shoulder, his arm casually wrapping around your waist. He let out a content sigh, the warmth of his presence melting away any lingering chill.
“I love this season,” he murmured, his breath tickling your ear. “It’s like the world slows down for a bit. Just us, the snow, and some good food. Couldn’t ask for more.”
You rested your head against his, smiling softly. “I like it too, especially when we’re together like this.”
For a while, neither of you said anything. The peaceful silence was more than enough, the soft crackling of the fire in the corner and the occasional gust of wind outside creating a perfect winter symphony.
Eventually, Jongseob shifted, his fingers brushing yours as he reached for one of the cinnamon rolls. "Let’s not waste these," he said, breaking the silence with a playful grin. "They’re going to get cold if we don’t eat them now."
You laughed, grabbing one as well, and took a bite. The warmth of the pastry, combined with the sugary sweetness, made you sigh in delight.
As the snow continued to fall, blanketing the world outside in a serene white, Jongseob turned to you, his gaze soft and affectionate. "You know," he said, his voice low and sincere, "even though I love winter, it’s a million times better when I’m with you."
Your heart fluttered at his words, the gentle warmth of his presence enveloping you more than the hot chocolate or the fire ever could. You leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, feeling his skin heat up under your lips.
“Winter with you is perfect,” you whispered, and in that moment, wrapped in each other’s warmth, it truly was.

The hallways buzzed with the usual energy of students chatting, lockers slamming, and teachers trying to wrangle their classes into submission. But none of that mattered right now. As the student council president, you had bigger issues to deal with—namely, Park Jongseong, or as everyone liked to call him, *Jay*, the school’s infamous bad boy.
You had only taken over as president this year, but Jay had already become your biggest headache. Late to class. Breaking dress code. Skipping detention. It seemed like he had no regard for the rules, and yet, no one had dared to confront him—until today.
Your plan was simple: find him, talk to him, and make him understand that he couldn't keep ignoring school regulations. You had a reputation to uphold, after all.
Heading toward the back of the school, where the outdoor basketball courts were mostly abandoned this time of day, you spotted him leaning against the chain-link fence, looking completely at ease. Jay was dressed in his usual outfit—a leather jacket over his uniform, shirt untucked, and an expression that was somewhere between boredom and amusement.
He saw you coming and smirked, pushing himself off the fence with a lazy kind of grace. “Didn’t know the student council president made house calls,” he said, folding his arms across his chest.
You stopped a few feet away, trying to ignore the flutter of nerves in your stomach. You had rehearsed this in your head, but standing in front of him, all of that confidence seemed to waver. Jay had that effect on people.
“Well, someone has to make sure you actually show up to class,” you shot back, crossing your arms in an attempt to mirror his posture.
Jay raised an eyebrow, clearly entertained. “And you thought you’d be the one to straighten me out?”
“I’m the student council president. It’s my responsibility,” you replied, keeping your voice steady.
He chuckled, shaking his head. “You’re cute when you’re all serious.”
Your cheeks heated at the casual comment, but you refused to let him throw you off balance. “This isn’t a joke, Jay. I’m here to talk to you about your behavior.”
He took a step closer, eyes gleaming with mischief. “My behavior?”
You nodded, standing your ground even though he was now just a few inches away. “You’ve been late to every class this week, you’ve skipped detention twice, and you’re breaking the uniform code right now. If you don’t start taking this seriously, I’ll have no choice but to report you to the principal.”
For a moment, he didn’t say anything, just watched you with a look that made your heart race. Then, he smirked again, but this time there was something different behind it. “Do you really want to report me, or are you just looking for an excuse to keep coming around?”
His words caught you off guard, and for a split second, you didn’t know how to respond. Was he flirting with you? No, that couldn’t be right. Jay was just messing with you—he had to be.
“I’m just doing my job,” you managed to say, though your voice didn’t sound as confident as before.
Jay tilted his head, studying you in a way that made your skin tingle. “Maybe. But if you’re gonna keep following me around, at least admit it’s not just about the rules.”
You opened your mouth to argue, but the words died on your lips. Because part of you knew he was right. This wasn’t just about following school policies. Somewhere along the line, you had become… curious. Curious about why Jay acted the way he did, and why he seemed to go out of his way to test everyone’s patience—especially yours.
Seeing your hesitation, Jay leaned in a little closer, his voice dropping. “You ever think maybe I break the rules because I’m tired of everyone expecting me to be a certain way?”
Your heart skipped a beat at the intensity in his eyes. This wasn’t the cocky, arrogant Jay that you were used to seeing around school. This was something deeper, something real.
“I never really thought about it like that,” you admitted softly.
He let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head as if to himself. “Of course you haven’t. You’re too busy following the rules to see what’s outside them.”
You frowned, defensive again. “And what’s so bad about following the rules?”
Jay shrugged. “Nothing, I guess. But it’s not for everyone. Some people want more than just… this.”
He gestured vaguely around the school grounds, and you realized that for the first time, you understood what he meant. Jay wasn’t just rebelling for the sake of it. He was searching for something more, something that couldn’t be found within the lines you had been taught to color inside.
“You ever think about breaking a rule?” he asked suddenly, his voice teasing again, though there was something serious behind the question.
Your breath caught as you realized he wasn’t asking about school rules. He was asking about you. About whether you could ever let go of the image you had built up, the perfect student council president who did everything by the book.
“I’m not like you, Jay,” you said, though the words sounded weak even to your own ears.
His eyes sparkled with challenge. “Maybe you could be. Just for a little while.”
Your heart pounded as he closed the last bit of distance between you. The air between you felt charged, electric, like you were standing on the edge of something dangerous—but thrilling.
And before you could overthink it, Jay’s lips were on yours, soft but insistent, pulling you into a world where rules didn’t matter and expectations faded away. It was impulsive, reckless, everything you had been trying to avoid. But in that moment, it felt right.
When he pulled away, his smile was softer, more genuine. “See? Not so bad breaking a rule, is it?”
You laughed, breathless and a little dazed. “I think I might need more practice.”
Jay grinned, taking your hand and lacing his fingers through yours. “Lucky for you, I’m a great teacher.”

Shotaro had always been the sweetest. From the moment you met him, he was nothing but attentive and caring. He had this quiet charm, with his shy smiles and soft-spoken words, but it was clear to anyone around that he was the type of guy who always put others before himself. Especially when it came to you.
Your relationship was steady and comforting, but there was one thing that had been lingering between the two of you—his hesitance to kiss you. It wasn’t like you hadn’t felt the tension. You noticed the way his eyes would drift to your lips when you were close, how he’d nervously fidget with his hands, and the small breaths he took as if he was about to close the gap between you… but he never did.
It had happened countless times.
There was the night you two sat on the couch watching a movie, his arm lazily draped over your shoulder. You could feel the warmth of his body as you leaned against him, the perfect moment for something more. You turned to look at him, catching him staring at you. His eyes flickered down to your lips, just for a second. Your heart raced as you waited, knowing he was about to make his move. He leaned in slightly, his breath ghosting your cheek. And then… nothing. He pulled back at the last second, his cheeks flushed as he nervously scratched the back of his neck.
You didn’t bring it up then. You knew he was shy, and you didn’t want to make him uncomfortable.
The second time was when you were out for a late-night walk. The sky was clear, stars twinkling above as the two of you strolled hand-in-hand. The conversation was light, full of laughter and little teases. He stopped walking at one point, his eyes soft as he looked at you. Your steps faltered when you noticed the shift in his gaze. It was the same look—gentle, full of affection. He stepped closer, his hand lifting to brush a stray piece of hair behind your ear. Your heart skipped a beat as he leaned in again, but just as his lips hovered close to yours, he stopped. His face turned pink, and he let out a small, awkward laugh before pulling away.
It was becoming a pattern, and you were beginning to wonder if he was overthinking it, worried about messing things up.
Then came the third time. You were sitting in a park, the sun setting behind the trees, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. Shotaro had been extra affectionate that day, holding your hand and pulling you closer than usual. As you sat side by side on the bench, he looked at you again with that familiar expression. You could see the gears turning in his head, his eyes shifting between your eyes and lips. This time, you were sure he was going to do it. He leaned in, your faces so close that you could feel his breath on your skin. And then, as if something spooked him, he quickly pulled back, his face redder than ever.
You sighed inwardly, watching as he fidgeted in his seat. It was sweet, the way he was so nervous, but after all these moments, you couldn’t help but feel a little impatient. You wanted to kiss him too. You wanted to show him that it didn’t have to be such a big deal—that you were ready whenever he was.
So, after the fourth near-kiss that week, you decided to take matters into your own hands.
The two of you were sitting in your room, music playing softly in the background. He was next to you, as usual, his hand resting comfortably in yours. The conversation was light, but you could tell his mind was somewhere else. He kept glancing at your lips, his expression torn between wanting to kiss you and hesitating, just like always.
Enough was enough.
You took a deep breath, steeling yourself before turning to face him. "Shotaro?"
He looked at you, eyes wide and curious. "Yeah?"
"Do you want to kiss me?" The bluntness of your words caught him off guard, and his face immediately turned bright red. He opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. Instead, he fumbled over his thoughts, looking absolutely flustered.
"I-I mean… I do… but…"
You couldn’t help but smile at how adorable he was, stammering and unsure. Before he could spiral further into his overthinking, you decided to close the gap yourself. Leaning in, you pressed your lips softly against his, finally bridging the space that had been taunting you both for so long.
At first, he was frozen in place, shocked that you’d taken the lead. But it didn’t take long for him to relax, his hand coming up to cup your cheek as he returned the kiss with a gentle enthusiasm. His lips were warm and soft, and you could feel the tension melt away as the two of you finally shared the moment you’d both been waiting for.
When you pulled back, you saw the mix of relief and joy on his face, his shy smile making your heart flutter. "I… I’ve been wanting to do that for so long," he admitted quietly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I just… I didn’t want to mess it up."
You laughed softly, brushing a thumb over his cheek. "You could never mess it up, Shotaro. It’s just a kiss."
He smiled sheepishly, leaning his forehead against yours. "Yeah… I guess I was just overthinking it."
You gave him a teasing look. "Just a little."
He chuckled, his arms wrapping around you, pulling you closer. "Thank you for… you know… taking the lead. I’ll be braver next time."
You smiled, resting your head against his chest. "I’ll hold you to that."

The sun was high in the sky, its rays glistening off the clear blue water as the waves gently lapped at the shore. The beach was alive with energy—the crashing of waves, seagulls calling above, and the soft murmur of people enjoying the perfect summer day. You stood at the edge of the shoreline, feet sinking into the wet sand as the water rushed over your toes, refreshing and cool.
"Hey!" Soul called from behind you, his voice full of mischief. Before you could turn around, you felt a spray of cold water splash against your legs. You gasped, spinning around to see him standing a few feet away, grinning like a kid who had just pulled off the best prank ever. He was ankle-deep in the water, his blond hair tousled by the breeze, a playful sparkle in his eyes.
"You did not just do that!" you exclaimed, narrowing your eyes at him, trying to suppress your laugh.
"Oh, I definitely did." He wiggled his eyebrows, daring you to retaliate.
Without a second thought, you bent down, scooping up water with your hands and flinging it at him. It hit him square in the chest, and he let out a dramatic gasp, clutching his shirt as if you’d just dealt a fatal blow.
"Oh no, I'm mortally wounded," he groaned, stumbling back into the water, flailing his arms theatrically before collapsing into the shallow waves.
You burst out laughing, shaking your head. "Get up, you drama king!" You marched toward him, fully intending to drag him back to his feet.
But the moment you were within arm’s reach, Soul sprang up, grabbing you around the waist and lifting you into the air. “Got you!” he shouted, spinning you around in a circle as you squealed, kicking your feet.
“Soul, put me down!” you laughed, half-serious, but not really minding the playful chaos.
He stopped spinning but kept his arms securely around you, lowering you just enough so your feet could brush the water. “Only if you promise not to splash me again,” he said, giving you a cheeky grin.
“Fine, I promise!” you said, crossing your fingers behind your back, eyes sparkling with mischief.
He narrowed his eyes suspiciously. “You’re not crossing your fingers, are you?”
“Of course not!” you said, trying and failing to keep a straight face.
“Hmmm, I don’t believe you,” he said, raising an eyebrow.
Without warning, he let you go, and you landed in the shallow water with a splash. You gasped as the cool ocean water hit you, but before you could react, Soul took off running down the beach, laughing over his shoulder.
“Oh, you are so dead!” you yelled, quickly getting to your feet and sprinting after him.
Soul might have been quick, but you were determined. The two of you raced along the shoreline, the water splashing around your ankles as you ran. He zigzagged, trying to avoid you, but you were faster than he gave you credit for. Just as he glanced back to see how close you were, you leaped forward, tackling him from behind.
Both of you tumbled into the sand, laughing as you rolled over each other. When you finally came to a stop, you were both out of breath, lying side by side, staring up at the clear blue sky.
“You really got me,” Soul panted, still laughing. He turned his head to look at you, his face flushed from running and his hair sticking to his forehead.
“You deserved it,” you teased, nudging him with your elbow. “That’s what you get for throwing me in the water.”
He sat up, brushing the sand off his arms and grinning. “Alright, truce. No more throwing or splashing… for now.”
You sat up as well, giving him a skeptical look. “For now?”
He shrugged innocently. “Can’t make any promises. It’s too fun messing with you.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help but smile. “You’re impossible.”
Soul stood up and offered you his hand, pulling you to your feet. “Come on, let’s get back in the water. It’s too nice out to waste sitting in the sand.”
Hand in hand, you both walked back toward the shoreline, the cool water washing over your feet once again. This time, there were no tricks, no splashes—just the two of you enjoying the peaceful rhythm of the ocean together.
As the waves rolled in, Soul gave your hand a gentle squeeze. “You know, I could do this every day,” he said softly, his usual playful tone replaced with something more sincere. “Just you, me, and the ocean.”
You smiled, looking over at him. “Yeah, me too.”
And in that moment, with the sun shining brightly above and the sound of the waves filling the air, everything felt perfect—like the world was yours, and there was no one else in it but the two of you.
