Hey another punch out thing no way! Anyways, this is pretty much the earliest concept I had for Yuen, which was more of an oc idea instead of the current self-insert(ish) design I decided on. The original idea for them was to make them another WVBA ref, since I thought it was kinda weird that the WVBA would only have a single ref. They probably wouldn’t have taken the place of the actual refs, maybe would sit on ringside or swap in for the current ref if he gets knocked out, which I noticed happened a lot (*cough* Macho Man *cough*).

The little written stuff on the bottom:

Supposed to be a ref or ref in training

Bc spo’s(super punch out’s) ref isn’t seen (I think)

Also po!wii ref gets beat up a lot between matches (meant rounds instead of matches lol)

Drew my old personas (the ones I remember anyway) plus my current sorta planned design for a persona

I think it’s kinda obvious what fandoms i was into at the time of designing each of them lol

Something other than Punch Out? Impossible! Anyway I somehow drew art based on a Roblox game, so idk how much better that is lol. I think it’s a neat little idea tho. The game is Evade btw

Yeah so context is when I first started playing, there was this one game where I was just standing up high and was looking for this one downed player, but I couldn’t bc my sight’s bad, so I was standing on this ledge looking down for like a good 3 minutes maybe, and I ended up basically watching a downed player die, and kinda realized I just looked like some asshole who just watched this person die lol. (To whoever that was I’m so sorry btw-)

Anyway I wondered how that little dilemma would’ve looked from their perspective and drew it, so yeah! Also I think evade’s pretty fun, so I might make a few more of these

Also some headcanons that just make sense to me

Like in my previous post, I see Birdy as the kid that grabs a handful of candy from the “take one” candy bowl, but I also think Mac is the opposite of that. Like sure, if the bowl has some good candy then maybe two pieces, but otherwise just one

Birdy always brings a pillowcase as this candy container bc he wants as much candy as he can get (which is probably at least half of the pillowcase) while Mac always just grabs a plastic somewhat Halloween themed bucket as he doesn’t care too much for how much candy he gets, just that he gets some

Both wouldn’t really be the type to go overboard with some fancy or complex costume (unless if it’s for a meme then maybe Birdy would)

If they went trick or treating together Birdy would definitely drag Mac to a haunted house, but Mac would be the one dragging Birdy out of it/having to walk him through the haunted house while Birdy has his eyes closed or smth

If Punch Out! Wii’s Donkey Kong Fight Was Canon

(in my headcanon it’s not, but this was a funny little scenario)

*distant crashing*

“Oh sh- umm…do I call the cops or animal control?”

For context I imagine the major/world circuit arena to have a similar layout to a movie theatre, or something similar at least

First Panel: Yuen stands behind the concession counter, face resting against their hand, zoning out as a match goes on in the arena.

Second Panel: Yuen is snapped back to reality by a slamming noise off to the right of the panel, along with the clamoring of a crowd. They casually glance towards the source of the noise, not bothering to move much from their position in the previous panel.

Third Panel: The source of the slamming noise is revealed to be the challenger, Donkey Kong, bursting through the arena doors, with what appears to be Little Mac slung over his shoulder, moving fast enough to be seen as a blur.

Ngl making these panel descriptions was pretty fun

Found an old, unfinished cuphead oc, but I think they’re cool so here they are! I’m pretty sure the Casino Cups comics were basically how I got on tumblr; at least it’s the oldest tumblr related thing I remember really liking. Haha nostalgia has me in a chokehold-

Really want these guys to be like a friend group but I’m still thinking how to (at least somewhat realistically) have them meet? Also I can’t draw snes Mac/Birdy for the life of me, so that’s why he’s so blurred. Still need to practice drawing both Mac’s either way. Also that hand tho??? I’m actually really happy with it??

Yuen Dealing with the Boxers (they have a name now, yay!)

I didn’t wanna draw all of the boxers, so I made three basic categories, which are the polite boxers, annoying but not outright rude boxers, and then, just no (honestly the only one in this category might be Aran Ryan because he’s the only one I can see being an absolute menace to customer service type staff). Also I still need to figure out how to draw some characters, like whatever Aran Ryan’s hair is lmao

Short summary of each one:

Polite (represented by Little Mac) - the nicest people to deal with, literally could not be more polite to staff

Examples: Little Mac, Glass Joe, Piston Honda

Annoying (represented by Narcis Prince) - not directly rude, but most in this category have some kind of ego, making them a bit annoying to deal with, but still tolerable

Examples: Narcis Prince, Macho Man, Rick Bruiser

N O (represented by Aran Ryan) - Aran Ryan is here, do I really need to explain?

Some sketches that I made of my Punch Out! self insert, at least the ones I kinda finished lmao. Also this is my idea of character building, so probably expect more of this kinda stuff. If you couldn’t tell I totally gave up about halfway through drawing the second sketch, so don’t come at me for how I drew Narcis and Aran, I swear I’m gonna (try to) fix it later. So after this is some story stuff about my self insert, so if you’re not interested in that kinda stuff this is about where I’d stop reading.

Character Story Stuff (ig)

So I didn’t really plan for them to have any complicated backstory or anything, but like, I’d still like for them to have interactions/relationships (probably not romantic) with the characters. I really like @/askthewvba’s (too scared to tag them lmao) Punch Out! universe, and the idea of the Punch Out wii and Super Punch Out characters taking place around the same time, so the universe I’m putting my self insert in is pretty much based in their universe. So, they work at (what I imagine to be) Punch Out Wii’s major/world circuit stadium, which I much refer to as the WVBA stadium. So, because I personally think the wii minor circuit is held in a different place, my self insert doesn’t quite interact with the minor circuit characters too often, so I don’t think I’ll be drawing them much (sorry to anyone who’s a fan of the minor circuit gang). To me it looks like all of Super Punch Out’s fights are held in the same place, so I headcanon that they’re also all fighting in the WVBA stadium.

I don’t really plan on making my self insert any kind of really special staff member, I’m just planning on making them a tired highschool student just trying to do the job they applied for (concession stand/gift store kinda job) but half the time getting roped into doing other stuff. I like to think they keep accidentally getting roped into doing personal assistant stuff for all of the boxers, which would explain how they sorta meet a lot of the boxers. Of course, having to deal with the, unique, boxers of the WVBA, would probably be kinda stressful and tiring. So what other WVBA staff member commonly has to deal with the boxers frequently? That’s right, none other than the Ref himself! So, that’s one connection between the two. Another connection that I thought of was that they both seem like they would have a resting bitch face, so that’s another detail they share! Of course, my self insert would develop their own opinions about some of the boxers, which is kinda what I was trying to draw in the second sketch? But as you can tell, I gave up haha.

Okay, that’s all the story stuff I’m gonna make for now, I’m gonna go pass out for 9 hours lol

Okay, so I found a kinda old wip from when I was doing my first play through of 7th Stand User and what I imagined the player/self insert would like like! Thought since I’m almost dead I might as well put it here! Who knows, maybe it might motivate me to finish it, haha
