He asked me when I fell in love with him and I knew it sounded dramatic to say the moment I saw him, so I told him this story of my grandma who had Alzheimer's- she forgot her name and the words for fruit and food, she forgot her address and how to use the washroom, all her life lost to the disease. The only thing she remembered was her son's name and when that began to fade, the one thing she always remembered was that she loved him, even in illness, even in insanity. She saw this 6 foot 2 man with a scrubby beard and she didn't know him but she said she trusted him, she asked him to hold her hand when she died. When does memory end and love begin? All I know is- she loved him before she remembered him.

- Anna and Cordelia being friends and fashion buddies will never not be a highlight of the series for me - Will Magnus and James is the iconic trio I didn’t know I needed - Whenever I read about Herondaisy in this chapter my mind just plays “Every night in my dreams, I see you I feeeel you” - I love the fire imagery consistently ascribed to Cordelia (James compares her hair to fire, in That Hell Ruelle scene where she dances it’s described that “every light caught fire along Cortana”, here we have “she would dress in fire if she liked”). It highlights both her fierceness and warmth. [Alsoo remember when Jem told James that he is the flame that cannot be put out? Jordelia made for each other fr] - Seeing Cordelia and Matthew try to enjoy themselves in Paris despite them both hurting just hurts me. My heart breaks when Cordelia bears herself up. And Matthew, he is being ebullient in front of Cordelia but I think he’s still drinking and oh man it just hurts. - So Lucie has access to some sort of in-between place? I feel like there’s going to be more to this because remember in ChoG when Lucie got a vision of James which let her know he was in trouble? I feel like there might be more to her power than being able to command ghosts - And finally, what does Bridgestock’s letter say? I need to know!

Something I love about Julian is that we all fell in love with this sweet thoughtful guy who was so unlike Jace and Will in every way (you know the angsty sarcastic type) and we loved that for him. And then suddenly his personality did a 180° and we see this incredibly smart, dark and dangerous person behind the wholesome persona willing to do absolutely anything and kill anyone as long as his siblings and his Emma were safe and happy.
