Hello! You can call me Ryn. I don't really post a whole lot, but I reblog things sometimes. This will likely turn into a clusterfuck like all my other social media. My profile picture was drawn by my good friend Maddie! @electriclord

Im Sure This Is True For Some People But Honestly... A Lot Of People Get Them Simply Because They Like
I’m sure this is true for some people but honestly... a lot of people get them simply because they like them and make them happy. I like how the iphone is layed out. It is very easy to use and has a clean look. Andriod interfaces are cluttered and difficult for me to use, so I don’t like them. I had someone tell me that if I can’t figure out Android then I am just a fucking moron and can’t be helped. If liking iphones makes me a moron then so be it I guess.
Iphones for me are just easier. They feel more intuitive to me. They also have a very good battery life and can last for a very long time. I had my iphone SE up until the 11 came out because my SE just started to die. I could have replaced the battery, but I just wanted an upgrade by that time anyways. That’s how most people with iphones are. Use them until they are unusable and then get a new one.
I guess I just don’t understand why it is such a big deal to some people? It is just a phone. You can criticize the company all you want, they definitely do some shady shit. Just let people be happy with the device they like.
Thing is I feel like 90% of the reason people buy iPhones is the same reason people buy those shirts that are like the 500 dollars, brand name
Exactly. iPhones aren’t popular because they’re good, it’s because they’re stupidly expensive and owning one is basically seen as a status symbol.
Which is also why these same people are so eager to replace them every year with a slightly shinier model at an even higher cost.

The Flag of Japan but it's actually this hand towel with a perfectly-placed water stain
I have a friend who has pretty much told me the samd thing. Most of the time I can understand on a cognitive level what someone is feeling when it comes to extreme emotions. (I say that because it is the little things I have the hardest time with. I miss them all the time.) Like for example, my boyfriend had his mom pass away several months ago. I love him deeply, and I obviously understood that he was in pain. I just didn’t share his pain. I didn’t feel sad or angry or hurt with him. I just felt... not much of anything. Worried for him, but not much else.
It’s that emotional empathy that I don’t really know how much I actually want to try and learn if it is even possible. I feel like I am better able to help people without being bogged down by the intensity of the emotion. The biggest downside though is that while I can’t share in the pain, I also can’t share in the joys. For me I think that is the biggest negative.
Benefits of having low empathy:
You can't guilt trip me
I remain calm when other people are in distress
I'm not constantly drained by the negativity of the world (instead I am drained by my own depression)
Disadvantages of having low empathy:
Was that a joke?
Was that sarcasm?
I don't always underatand why people feel the way they do
I don't get happy when other people are happy
People with low empathy are demonized even by mental health professionals :/
Hell yeah dude! You’re doing great. 🥰
didn’t write much today but I did write SOME and given the month I’ve been having I will choose to be proud of that
