You and Steve are exes and last year you moved away to Chicago. Today was the day of one of the biggest basketball games ever for Hawkins and you decided to come back to watch it. It felt weird being back. You were so used to Chicago so Hawkins felt different from how it used to feel. You was outside Hawkins High School and called Nancy before you went in and she answered.

“Heyyy what’s up?” Nancy asked. “What if i told you i’m back?” You asked and Nancy immediately went silent. “Wait no way are you outside stop don’t play around like this” Nancy said. “I’m not playing around I am back” You said and then you heard Nancy moving and then you saw her walk out of the school and she immediately saw you. “OH MY GOD YOU ARE BACK” Nancy exclaimed before running up to you and hugging you. “Yeah I wanted to see this game” You said hugging her back. Jonathan quickly also came out, probably because Nancy was with him and then suddenly ran off. “Oh my god” Jonathan said when he saw you. “Hey Byers” You said with a smile and he smiled back. “Robins probably gonna scream when she sees you” Nancy said laughing. “Yeah i’m so excited to see her again” You said. “Y’know who else you’ll see again?” Jonathan asked. “Don’t remind me” You said with a sigh. Nancy laughed and then you all walked in and sat down. Robin was with the band and she saw you and immediately smiled at you. You smiled back and then it was time for the speech before the game to start. This was the most boring bit ever.

The game then started and Steve walked onto the court. It was weird seeing him again. He looked better than he did before. A lot better. He then saw you. ‘So when I touch down, call the amateurs and cut ‘em from the team’ He thought before the whistle was blown and the game started. Steve scored a goal and everyone screamed and cheered for him. He made eye contact with you and smiled before going back to the game. “The sign on his heart said it’s still reserved for you” Nancy whispered to you smirking and you smiled. “Honestly who are we to fight the alchemy” You whispered back and Nancy had the biggest smile on her face. You and Steve were so cute together. Everyone thought you’d be endgame so when you broke up that shocked literally everyone. Even Billy Hargrove was shocked which proved how perfect you and Steve were together. “What if I told him we’re cool? That child’s play back in school is forgiven under my rule?” You said and Nancy and Jonathan immediately looked at you. “Oh my god are you finally coming around?” Jonathan asked. “Well I haven’t come around for so long… But i’m making a comeback to where I belong” You said after a few seconds and Nancy gasped.

‘Those blokes warm the benches we’ve been on a winning streak’ Steve thought. “Didnt he used to joke it was heroin but this time with an ‘E’.” Nancy asked referring to what he used to say your love for eachother was like. You nodded then went back to watching the game. Steve won for the team and everyone cheered. Shirts off and his friends lift him up over their heads. Beer stickin’ to the floor cheers chanting cause’ they said “there was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league”. After about ten minutes everyone was leaving so Nancy,Jonathan and you also got up Robin ran over to you guys. “YOURE BACK?” Robin asked you. “Just for today I wanted to see the game” You said. Steve then immediately came over runnin’ to you guys. “Congrats on the win” You said. “I didn’t expect you to be here” Steve said to you. “Yeah well I am” You replied. “I’m so happy you’re back even if it’s just for the rest of the day” Robin said before hugging you. “I’m sorry… For everything” Steve said after a few moments of silence. “I’m sorry too” You said and he hugged you.

Suburban Legends

a/n: This is inspired by suburban legends by taylor swift and this is the second thing i’ve ever written so don’t expect it to be the best

It was your 5 year high school reunion and you were outside in the parking lot waiting to go in. The reunion was being held at hawkins high school and you knew you’d see Steve again. Everyone expected you and Steve to walk in together but you broke up about six months after graduating which shocked everyone. You saw some of your old friend group and immediately greeted them and walked in with them. “Oh my god hey i’ve not seen you in like forever” Nancy said with a smile. You and Nancy had always been close. “Hey Nance it’s so nice to see you again” You say hugging her. “Heyyy” Robin said when she saw you. “Hey Robs” You replied hugging her too. “Are you excited to see Steve?” Jonathan asked. “It might be nice to see him again” You said and Robin gave you a look. She knew you still liked him it was so obvious to everyone actually. “So how did the breakup actually happen?” Nancy asked. “I paced down his block, I broke my own heart cause he was too polite to do it” You said and Nancy,Robin and Jonathan instantly understood what you meant. You then started talking about what you had all been doing since you graduated.

After a few minutes Steve walked and you immediately looked at him. He walked over to you and the rest of the group and greeted everyone and just nodded at you. He then walked over to the drinks table to get a drink and you followed him. He was so magnetic it was almost obnoxious.

“Um hi” You said to Steve and he turned to look at you. You smiled at him and also grabbed a drink. You was hoping this wouldn’t be awkward especially since you hadn’t talked to each other since the breakup, which was four and a half years ago.

“Oh hi it’s nice to see you again” He said with a smile. Thank god this wasn’t going to be awkward. Obviously it wouldn’t be was Steve Harrington he was Good with women.

“It’s nice to see you again too” You said and then music started playing on the speakers. The song that was playing was the song you and Steve always used danced to.

“Do you wanna dance?” Steve asked with a smirk not waiting for your answer and pulling you to the dance floor. He put his hands on your waist and you put your hands around his neck and danced together. You wanted to say something but you had no words. When he holds you, it holds you together.

You were getting closer and closer to eachother and you knew this probably wasn’t a good idea but you didn’t actually come here to make friends. “I know that you still remember we were born to be national treasures” You said to steve finally thinking of something to say. “Y’know I had the fantasy that maybe our mismatched star signs would surprise the whole school and i’d end up back at a class reunion walking in with you. You’d be more than a chapter in my old diaries with the pages ripped out and i was hoping i’d be sharing this moment with you right now” You continued.

“I always hoped we’d get back together” Steve said smirking. “We were born to be suburban legends” He continued. You both leaned in closer and your lips met. Oh god he kissed you in a way that’s gonna screw you up forever. For the first time in almost five years everything seemed normal again. Maybe just maybe your life wouldn’t be ruined and maybe Steve would once again be a page in your diary.

Bickering in his car

a/n: This is the first time i’ve ever written anything so its not the best

You and Steve had been arguing for the past hour. You were on a road trip and Steve was driving. You were in the passenger seat and Dustin and Murray were sat in the back. Apparently you and Steve weren’t allowed alone without adult supervision because you’re too ‘childish’ together so Murray came along, mainly to give you both relationship advice. You and Steve were going back and forth then Murray butted in.

“CHILDREN CHILDREN CHILDREN. This interminable bickering was amusing at first but it’s getting very stale and we’ve still got a long drive ahead of us. So why don’t you two cut the bullshit and get to the part where you admit your sexual feelings for one another”

“WOAH” You and Steve said together in shock.

“SPARE ME SPARE ME. Yes yes he used to be King Steve I know. Probably reminds you of a bad relationship and gosh you’d really like a nice guy to settle down with but admit it. You’re really curious to know what he’s like in the sack” Murray said to you then turned to Steve.

“and you HA. You’re just a big man baby. You’d rather act tough than show your true feelings because the last time you did that you got hurt. Owie” Murray said to Steve then looked at the both of you.

“And now rather than admitting these feelings you’re dancing around one another with this mind numbing and frankly borish mating ritual so please for my sake either quit your bickering or pull over tear off those clothes AND GET IT OVER WITH ALREADY” He said making you and Steve go silent.

A few minutes of silence passed then Steve spoke up not taking his eyes off of the road. “Y’know he’s not actually wrong. I do like you.” He said to you making Murray smirk. Dustin was about to say something but Murray stopped him.

“You do? Well I like you too, I have for a while. Even when you were King Steve” You replied making Steve laugh.

“Oh yeah?” Steve asked raising his eyebrow finally taking his eyes off of the road to look at you.

“Yeah” You reply smirking at him. The rest of the drive was peaceful and there wasn’t anymore bickering between you and Steve.
