What foolish nonsensical mental gymnastics does it take to suggest that God preserving Mary -the most beautiful and perfect creature in all of creation, the woman He specifically chose to be His mother- from original sin somehow detracts from the glory of Christ's birth?
There is nothing in Scripture that suggests Mary ever sinned, there is however evidence to her perfect sinlessness both in Scripture and through logical process.
Christ took His human nature, His very flesh from His mother, if He is perfect and sinless how can He have taken His human nature from an ordinary sinful woman, something greater cannot come from something lesser. Catholicism doesn't deny that Mary needed a savior, Jesus was her savior, as His sacrifice was for all time there is no reason to suggest He couldn't have redeemed her at the moment of her immaculate conception prior to His own incarnation.
Evidence in Scripture:
1. Mary is revealed to be “full of grace” in Luke 1:28.
2. Mary is revealed to be the fulfillment of the prophetic “Daughter of Zion” of Isaiah 12:1-6; Zephaniah 3:14-16; Zechariah 2:10; etc.
3. Mary is revealed to be “the beginning of the new creation” in fulfillment of the prophecy of Jeremiah 31:22.
4. Mary is revealed to possess a “blessed state” parallel with Christ’s in Luke 1:42.
5. Mary is called not just “blessed” among women, but “more blessed than all women” (including Eve) in Luke 1:42.
6. Mary is revealed to be the spotless “Ark of the Covenant” in Luke 1.
7. Mary is revealed to be the “New Eve” in Luke 1:37-38; John 2:4, 19:26-27; Revelation 12; and elsewhere.
8. Mary is revealed to be free from the pangs of labor in fulfillment of Isaiah 66:7-8.
You are flat out and undeniable wrong and you do discredit to the power and greatness of God, and you offend that most pure and holy woman the blessed Theotokos.
Mary being treated as if she was sinless makes me so so sad. Like talk about erasing the wonder and glory of Jesus’ birth
