DIY Magical Shower Disks
DIY Magical Shower Disks
So you have seen our lovely bath magic spells but you cannot take a bath. Maybe you don’t have a bath in your current residence, maybe you are physically unable to use bathtubs, maybe you’re just super stretched for time but want to get in some extra magical umph. Recreational Witchcraft is here for you.
Shower disks are traditionally used in the aromatherapy world to relieve congestion and other flu-symptoms while showering via the use of essential oils, but we will be bumping up their magical potential.
Basic recipe:
1 cup baking soda
1 tablespoon corn starch
1/3 cup of water
Muffin tins and muffin liners
Combine baking soda and corn starch (making sure there are no clumps), then slowly add in the water. Fill lined muffin tins about third of the way, then leave out for 24 hours to dry completely. Carefully take them out of the liners, add your essential oils, and place your disk somewhere in your shower that will allow them to dissolve slowly while you do your business. Bam. You’re done.
Now onto the magic. All dry ingredients (herbs, spices, etc) should be added in with the baking soda and corn starch before the water is added. All essential oils should be added right before they’re used (so when they’re completely dry).
Cleansing and Purifying:

essential oil of rosemary
essential oil of lemongrass
dried peppermint leaves
dried lemon rinds
dried rosemary
Protection:

essential oil of lavender
essential oil of eucalyptus
dried basil leaves
dried lavender flowers
pinch of ground cloves
Glamour:

essential oil of sweet orange
essential oil of rose
essential oil of jasmine
crushed red rose petals
pinch of (body safe) glitter
Attracting Love:

vanilla extract
essential oil of jasmine
essential oil of ylang ylang
apple seeds
1 lavender flower
pinch of cinnamon
Attracting Money:

essential oil of patchouli
essential oil of juniper berry
dried mint leaves
dried thyme
pinch of allspice

Quartz Wellness Bath
To be well one must balance mind, body, and spirit. This trifold understanding demonstrates how each supports the other: should one collapse, they all fail. To make each strong, we must return them to a state of peace and rest. Here is a simple wellness spell that can help restore your balance.
You Will Need 1. A quartz crystal 2. Purified or bottled water 3. 1 cup sea salt 4. A green candle in a safe candle holder 5. Lavender essential oil (optional) Preparation Begin by immersing the quartz in the purified water. Allow it to sit, infusing the water with cleansing properties, for three hours. If it is part of your practice, cast a circle. As you sit with your ingredients before you, centre yourself. Ground yourself in the present moment by focusing on your breath, the sensations of your body, and your connection to the earth. Casting Run yourself a warm bath. Add to it the cup of sea salt and three drops of lavender essential oil (optional). Remove the quartz from the purified water, then pour the water into your bath. Stir it three times with your right hand. Light the candle and place it somewhere safe. Step into your bath. Allow yourself to relax. Feel the water’s gentle motion against your skin as you settle in. Feel the warmth of the water and allow it to fill you. Take in the light aroma of the lavender and allow it to clear your mind. If you can, focus on the candle’s flame and allow your thoughts to wander. Do not fight with your thoughts; rather, allow them to come, acknowledge their presence, then let them slip past you. Feel the bath drawing out your stress, anxieties, and fears. Rest for twenty minutes. Step out of the tub and wrap yourself in a soft towel. Pull the drain plug and as the water empties say the following with intention: Fear and doubt and illness All there now drain away On mind, spirit, and body No longer may you prey Rinse the tub and extinguish the candle. Notes Sea salt: cleansing and healing Lavender: peace, purification, and clarity of thought Green candle: grounding, health, comfort Quartz: healing, cleansing, purification

Abitwitchy’s Bath Bag
Materials:
-1 coffee filter
- string or a rubber band
- basil
-rosemary
-cloves
-sage
-sea salts or bath salts
Instructions:
1. Flatten out coffee filter
2. Put herbs and salts in the center of the coffee filter. For salts, I used pink Himalayan sea salt, but as it said in the materials list, I sometimes use actual bath salts. Here’s a picture because it’s a really aesthetically pleasing step.

3. Carefully pull up the edges, try to keep everything inside the filter, and make it into a little bundle around the ingredients, binding it at the top with the string or rubber band. String looks prettier, but it’s easier to bind it with a rubber band and there’s less of a chance of stuff slipping out while it’s in the bath.
Here’s a picture of the final product.

Now just stick this baby in the bath and relax! It’s kind of like a tea bag for a bath. It helps bring luck, strength, and beauty, as well as cleanses/purifies and drives away negative energy. Hope you enjoy!
I came from a VERY superstitious family so here are some strange superstitions I heard growing up:
If you have an itchy right foot, you will leave on a journey.
Cover the mirrors when someone dies so they won't get stuck.
If you bite your tongue while eating, it’s because you’ve recently told a lie.
If you see crows mourning the death of another crow then you MUST mourn with them, it's only polite and the crows will remember that kindness.
When cows raise their tails, it’ll soon start to rain so best get inside.
Always kindly greet cats and wish them a merry day/night because they hold grudges.
if a honey covered spoon is dropped it is a sign that your lover will come over.
Be careful when gifting flowers, Even numbers are for the deceased, so choose an odd number of flowers.
If your ears are red, burning, buzzing ir rimging it means someone is idly talking about you.
Beware of fleas, with each bite they suck a bit of your soul away.
If you keep a rabbit's food or chicken foot in your pocket, it will protect from evil spirits.
If a bee gets inside your house, you will soon have a guest. If you kill the bee, then the visit will be an unpleasant one and bad luck will haunt you all day so best kindly escort the bee out.
Your guardian demon is just as protective as your guardian angel so if it warns you of something then listen.
Never cross or go near the train tracks at night, unsightly and unkind things wait in such places so they can make mischievous deals.
Always have at least one cat statue in your home for protection.
If you tell the moon your worries, she'll listen and help take them away.
A ring on each finger keeps the devil's deals away.
If you keep a blue jays feather on you then you can never be caught.
Everyone with a dimple was touched by Cupid.
Always keep dice on you for a fast reading better to know then not at all.
Always wear a bell, it wards evil away.
If a raven is near a sick person, then there is no chance of recovery for that person.
Never look between your legs at a funeral, if you do then you'll get THE SIGHT but only the sight of things that don't wanna be seen.
If you see three blue jays at once then there will be a death very soon.
If you see three red jays then someone you know will die a horrible death.
Always give each piece of jewlrey a purpose.
If you respect a spiders web, you will meet a new friend.
Have a lucky stone on you at all times.
Keeping spiders in your home keeps away bad dreams.
A cat sitting on someone’s grave means that person’s soul has arrived in hell.
Always repay your debts to the fae or else.
Never point a sharp object at the sky or your guardian angel will leave you.
Keep a bit of hair from all you love, you never know when you'll need it.
Never cross your legs when doing a reader, it blocks the energy flow.
Always keep food of any kind on your person because you never know who or what might be hungry. Better the food eaten then you.
Never leave the door open at night, it lets in dark things.
If a magpie gives you a sign then best believe them. They only ever help if it's really important.
