Keep seeing that post where OP starts like 'Thinking about...grieving the undead' and then adds on about like. Real life situations where people have not died but have left your life and you would have reason to grieve them.

All respect, that's an important concept, but that is not what I am thinking about when I read 'grieving the undead'.

Uuuuhhhhhhhh sure??

I knew these girls in middle school. And we were like the best of friends, I’m talking sneaking-out-of-school-together-we-know-their-secrets type friends. And in the end of eighth grade my grades started slipping. I didn’t care, I wasn’t even in school half the time, but when my parents found out-

They found out that my ex-friends and I were skipping school and that that was the reason my grades were dropping. They told me I needed to stay in school and keep my grades up or they’d never let me hang out with my friends again. I listened to them.

But when I couldn’t skip school anymore, I missed out on all the fun they had. And when I would get upset with them for having all these new inside jokes they would tell me that it was my fault anyway. Eventually they stopped skipping school, though, so it was fine. But at the end of freshman year they convinced me to skip with them again. It wasn’t supposed to be big, just for a half hour or so during a pep rally. But when we left we went to the mall (like 10 min away on our bikes) and we were shopping and lost track of time. And pretty soon we had skipped the whole school day. And then my phone started blowing up because the school had called my parents. And I told my parents where I was and came clean. They came to pick me up at the mall and when they got there they started yelling at me and my friends. And then one of the girls burst into tears and told my parents that it was all me idea.

And then I was grounded for like 3 months and my mom got a new job and we moved away in the middle of the summer. And after we moved I started realizing how bad they were for me. They encouraged me to skip, didn’t care about my grades skipping, were always pressuring me to do things that I knew were not good for me. And in general didn’t really like me all that much. And I realized I only hung out with them because they seemed so cool and made me think that by being like them, I was cool too.
