gym leader td headcanons (based more off the games)

gwen would be a ghost leader, her gym design would be a mini little murder mystery puzzle :)

izzy’s gimmick would be that her team would be pulled randomly from a pool of 20 or so possible mons with different probabilities of getting each one, with unique dialogue and a different persona depending on which mons were pulled that time (this is hypothetical and would be a nightmare to code im sure)

lindsay would make you go on a quest to help her with various tasks she forgot about or misunderstood, then turn out to be a surprisingly difficult fight with mainly fairies and “ugly-cute” pokemon like granbull

shawn would never be at the gym — why be in a place so predictable??? zombies could get you??? and you’d have to track him down in a nearby route. i’d imagine he uses grass pokemon but covers for weakness

tyler would ABSOLUTELY have a game show inspired fighting gym. fuck it maybe he and harold co-gym-lead as a sort of brains and brawn duo (though both are athletic in their own ways)

still keep thinking about this concept because it's so funny to me because like in this au in my head they're legally required to not tell anyone that they were hired and were essentially the only contestants hired on the show (also idk where to add this but they weren't allowed to win the million either). Because of them being the only actors there they had to improvise sooo much of the interactions with the other contestants- mostly about their "romance"

like when Spud told Carrie about the 7 stages of heartbreak?? she told Devin and they fucking. they FUCKING ROLLED WITH IT.

the train slap/cuss out scene with the Sisters?? like the prompt just said that he had to find out abt her feelings for him that episode but this was so much funnier and they didn't even know they were acting they were just so irritated with their fucking will they won't they and Devin and Carrie just laugh about it afterwards

(also. him falling off a cliff was not scripted by proxy. it just happens. the drama network pays for his recovery I swear)

well, less scripted and more prompt based. idk how these reality shows work when it comes to this but uh- they were given general prompts of their characters that they had to oblige to but otherwise could expand on them. it's why they play up their characters a lot, and otherwise are pretty much the same people as their characters- just not romantically interested in each other.
