yeah so I’m in this American fandom taht started in the early 2000s, it’s still active today, and there’s a lot of religious motives (Catholicism especially), guns, talks of homophobia, it’s about lovers that are doomed and making deals with the wrong people, but there’s a message of hope. The funny thing is how often the media reinvented itself and was able to sometimes not take itself too seriously. I mean I could show you screenshots and you wouldn’t think it’s that media because it looks so different. There are like three to four different eras and ofc that One gay ship, the ship wars truly were something back in the day but it’s quieter now.
