Yearly Reminder That C.S Lewis Encouraged His Fans To Write Fanfiction About Susan Pevensie Becoming

Yearly Reminder that C.S Lewis encouraged his fans to write fanfiction about Susan Pevensie becoming a friend to Narnia and reuniting with her family once again.

Literally inviting his fans to write Susan’s adult, angsty character development with a happy ending.

Do your duty fans. Write that fanfiction.

Since the whole thing with NaNoWriMo has gone down, I've noticed that one of their former sponsors, Ellipsus, has cut contact with NaNoWriMo because they do not support their stance on AI; I didn't know what Ellipsus was, but upon further research I've found that they are a writing platform that works a lot like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, only with a heavier leaning on the story-writing aspect and connecting with other writers - and they also completely denounce any use of AI, both in the writing process itself and in the use of their platform. I really appreciate that.

Since this is the case (and since I've noticed Google has begun implementing more AI into their software), I've decided to give Ellipsus a try to see if it's a good alternative to Google Docs (my main writing platform). It's completely free and so far, I've found it simple to use (although it is pretty minimal in its features), and I really like the look of it.

I figured I'd spread the word about this platform in case any of you writers would want to give it a try, and if you do, let me know how you like it!

not to be sick on the head on main but as i use litematica myself and get a little fucked up over it i cant help but think of s2 pix having this shit essentially built into his goggles and constantly seeing things that aren't there. constantly covered in scrapes and bruises from stepping onto floors that aren't as stable as they appear or straight up don't exist. stumbling into a wall and bracing for impact before phasing right through it. feeling rain and wondering if there's a leak in the ceiling above him only to remember it's just a projection

the fact that shakespeare was a playwright is sometimes so funny to me. just the concept of the "greatest writer of the English language" being a random 450-year-old entertainer, a 16th cent pop cultural sensation (thanks in large part to puns & dirty jokes & verbiage & a long-running appeal to commoners). and his work was made to be watched not read, but in the classroom teachers just hand us his scripts and say "that's literature"

just...imagine it's 2450 A.D. and English Lit students are regularly going into 100k debt writing postdoc theses on The Simpsons screenplays. the original animation hasn't even been preserved, it's literally just scripts and the occasional SDH subtitles.txt. they've been republished more times than the Bible

Last night, I dreamed there was this really popular youtube channel called “WolfpackDan”, and it was a guy who literally lived with a pack of wolves in the forest, just documenting daily life.

Now, I need you to understand that Dan was not some sort of Coyote Peterson type. He looked and dressed like someone who would pretend to get drunk off of non-alcoholic beer and say “bruh” unironically. He looked like the “bro I am straight up not having a good time” guy. But there he was, literally living in the forest with a wolf pack, recording and uploading videos with his phone.

One of his videos opened with him talking to the camera about “yeah, the pack went hunting today and just made a kill”. He turned his wrist to pan his phone over his shoulder, where four wolves are pinning down and tearing into a whitetail buck who is two gasps away from death.

“We’re actually hoping to make two kills today,” he added, panning his phone the other way to show two more wolves latching onto a second deer. “The Old Lady’s pups are growing really fast and it’s getting harder to provide for them. Once they can join the hunt, that’ll be a huge weight off everyone’s shoulders.”

He panned back to the first deer, where the wolves were now tearing into the meal. “I’m really hoping they’ll leave the pelt on this one intact,” he said. “I need a new cape. Winter is coming, guys.”

The last shot of that video was him running through the trees with the pack, with a still-bloody deer hide draped over his shoulders.

I can’t remember any more of his specific videos, but the gist I got from them was that he actually was a contributing member of the pack (hence the “we”) and had been raised at least partially by the wolves themselves. Not sure how they raised him into this dudebro-looking twenty-something with a name like Dan, but they did?

Where did he get his phone? How did he pay for his data? Who taught him English? Why did he dress like that?

I have so many questions for WolfpackDan.

Dani is dodging some well-meaning authorities, but cuz her powers are on the fritz she can't fly. She's gonna have to trick them.

It should be easy; there's a weird Halloween party going on, there's people in jumpsuits, and for some reason the venue chosen was some sort of semi-demolished area of the city.

Whatever.

Her problem, the nosey cops asking where her parents are, keep following her.

She turns a corner, sees a lady wearing a ripped jumpsuit with fake blood on her face, white and brown hair that's really uncontrollable and cool, and is a little away from a group of people that are clearly the main entertainment for the party.

Perfect.

If she can get a celebrity to play along, the cops will never question it!

She darts forward and grabs the lady's hand.

"Hey, wait-!" The lady says, her accent thick as she tries to detach her hand.

Dani doesn't let her.

She turns to the cops.

"Look, there's my mom, now stop following me!" She shouts, ignoring the shocked noises behind her.

The cops, for their part, are actually backing away slowly.

Then they just turn and run.

Dani sighs and tries to let go of the lady's hand...but the lady is the one clutching onto her now.

"Sugar, you wanna tell me more about what you just said to those guys?"

Shit.

Dani looks up, and it's not just the brown and white haired lady staring at her. All of the other people in torn jumpsuits are staring.

"Uh. It was a lie. I was lying."

The lady doesn't look like she believes her. She looks...concerned. Ew.

"Well, I'm Rogue, and hun; I think we should make sure you're...in a safe place."

Damn! Dani escaped one well meaning group only to run right into another!

Or; Rogue was just taking a breather after taking down a Sentinel with the other X-Men, keeping her distance because of her shredded suit and exposed hands, when some random kid ran up and grabbed one of said exposed hands. But nothing happened. Then the kid said that Rogue was her mom. And while yeah, she's pretty sure the kid is lying after having a second or two to process it, Rogue's a little invested in making sure one of the few people capable of touching her and not dying isn't in a bad spot.
