it’s crazy how i don’t know what any of you do for school/uni/work? who are you guys outside of tumblr? what do you work as?? 

Steve often steps in as Robin's “boyfriend” when random dudes won't leave her alone.

Eddie and the Party are long used to this--Steve regularly does the Big Brother act for the kids themselves when someone is being obnoxious towards them. 

(The guy moms people better than most moms do, and somehow still manages to pull off “cool guy” vibes while doing it, because life absolutely has its favorites.) 

Thing is, Eddie wasn't expecting all that to extend to HIM--and he absolutely in his wildest dreams did not expect Steve to go the boyfriend route. 

Particularly not at the very first gay bar he, Robin and Steve have ever gone to together, where Eddie happens to run chest first into his first and last regular hookup--an older guy who isn’t taking no for an answer. 

That Steve picked up on Eddie being uncomfortable is one thing, but to have him pop his polo collar, stride over and drop a possessive arm over Eddie’s shoulder’s, a hint of King Steve coming through as he casually dismisses the guy like he’s nothing is insane, and if Eddie didn’t have a raging crush before, he absolutely has one now.

One of the reasons why I love Steddie is how sweet Eddie was with Steve in the forest scene. That’s what got me into this ship. It was nice to see someone being patient and kind to Steve like that and it coming from someone like Eddie who viewed Steve so differently means a lot.

I loved how he told him how much Dustin looks up to him, making Steve smile and even after that wanting to joke around a little to make Steve laugh as well.

It was such a nice change, because all the other scenes we just see him bickering with someone or people making him seem stupid when he asks questions. Eddie didn’t make fun of him for not knowing Ozzy like he probably would have prior to things and instead let it be and called Steve cool. I love them.

Day 6 - Drunken Confessions

Everyone else is long gone from the party, having stumbled their way to the front door with promises to drive safe maybe about an hour ago. Not that Steve or Eddie have been keeping track of time, neither one can focus on anything but the nonsensical rambling of their conversation and the swirling feeling in their heads. Not to mention, their proximity to one another. Sprawled out on the floor, the only support keeping them upright being the couch behind them.

Eddie is mid sentence when Steve starts to move closer, his body moving faster than his inebriated mind can keep up. His lips press against soft flesh for only a second, a hot mouth that tastes of beer and whisky, that shocks his nerves like a live wire. Steve pulls away before he can deepen the kiss into anything more than a short pec. His eyes snap open, he doesn't remember closing them, and are met with the endless ocean of Eddie's deep brown irises. Dilated pupils search his face in an uncoordinated manner, as Steve's throat clicks with dry swallow.

" Sorry, I- shit, I should've asked first, I'm so sorry."

Steve begins to retreat from Eddie's personal space before a firm hand clamps down on his biceps, keeping him place. With a sloppy grin pulling at his face, he shuffles back into the minute distance between them. His hand snaking up to cup at Steve's jawline.

"Y' can't just stop right b'fore I can kiss y'back, Stevie."

Eddie relocks their lips, moving Steve's jaw in time with his own. Desperate hands finding purchase where ever than can, as two of them melt into the floor together, their bodies like syrup in the others arms.

Day 3 - Mutual Pining

The room is full of people. Loud, animated, conversations overlapping with each other in the expanse of Steve's living room. Despite the noise, despite all the bodies filling the space, all Steve can focus on is the tightness in his chest when his eyes land on the loudest of them all. His ribs ache with this feeling, a pulling sensation like a rope around his heart. It's new. It's confusing. And it feels so right.
