I was full of depressed hahas for a moment and then my brain went "Hey, if even Barbie struggles with feeling good enough and she is literally Barbie then the fact that I also struggle isn't so bad" and then I realised-

Barbie became my role model again, except now she isn't defeating a bad guy or living a perfect life, she just wants to live her life and feel mildly good about herself at the end of the day. Maybe, maybe I have been focusing too much too much on trying to make my life be perfect that I forgot to actually feel happy, and maybe happiness feels like a way too big concept I can't reach but being mildly okay? that, that I can do.

Honestly, I could make entire essays about this movie. The fact that it feels like a narrator playing with dolls to tell the viewer a story, like that moment were you play with your dolls once last time, it doesn't give you the same joy as it did before but you know you loved it once. Also, that Barbie is once again a character anyone can see themselves into, with her struggles on camera, she is no longer just a figure to see working, now she actually has gone through a lot of the ugly parts of life, the narrator is telling the viewer "it's okay, life will be hard, that is true, but you're not alone, we aren't alone" and it makes me cry.

(Also, remember that Barbie is supposed to have struggled before Gloria entered the picture and that's why the portal ripped between Barbie Land and the Real World? Her issues are never discussed outright, only as a reflection of Gloria's, but they exist, it's an opportunity to see anything and it being just as likely to be real as the other choice)
