ellie's pretty fast on her feet and has good reflexes, so she always finds it funny whenever you trip on your own feet or walk straight into something. she thinks you're endearing and doesn't mind helping you out, a soft chuckle leaving her mouth every single time.

that being said, she also gets a mini heart attack every time you almost fall down the stairs or drop a knife too close to your foot. she's always keeping an eye on you to make sure you don't hurt yourself right in front of her because she really doesn't want to take her girlfriend to the hospital.

for that reason, she makes sure to warn you about the metal pole right in front of you or the table you're basically walking into. she'll tell you to "hold onto my arm, babe" and "make sure not to drop the bowl"

she's gotten so used to your clumsiness that, unless you actually almost cut your finger off, she'll just look over and mindlessly check in on you— "be careful, babe", "you tripped again?", "that was kinda funny, not gonna lie"

"shit– babe, be careful" you feel yourself being grabbed by the forearm to prevent a face-first collision with the floor. a small yelp escapes you, but you recover pretty quickly, straightening your back with a sheepish smile.

"oops, didn't see the step." you laugh at your own clumsiness, glancing behind you at the grey concrete.

ellie's left arm protectively sneaks around your waist, pulling you close to her to make sure you don't lose your balance again. her right hand finds its way to her chest, right where her heart is, to feel her speeding heartbeat.

"how did you not see the sidewalk?"
