Hi!

For the prompt requests...I'm thinking "are you sure about this?" with Rex 🥺💕

I had ideas the second I read your ask cuz that is literally such a cute prompt and trooper combo 😫💜

Warnings: reader is a jedi, what kind? up to you. Reader at the very least works with Anakin and Torrent company often enough to be good friends with (at least) some of the men and Rex. Reader is just absolutely swooning over Rex and suffering like the fangirl(gn) she/they are.

I don't think any pronouns came up...🤔 if there is let me know

First Kiss with Rex

Rex x Reader

Your gaze flitted across his face as he spoke, you just couldn't help yourself. Despite the rules that governed you...that governed him as well, you were absolutely besottled in adoration. It took almost all your concentration to not just drool and turn to a puddle of goo before the captain.

He had no idea how much power over you that he held, nobody did. Which was a good thing, for you both would be punished to the highest degree - you were sure.

But...all that beautiful captain before you had to do was turn to you, with those warm and deep irsies of his, smile and ask you something.

Anything.

And you would give into every wish and desire he could ever have.

Kind of a scary thought.

"-and what do you think...?"

He glanced those wonderfully honey-hued orbs to your face, brow raised as he took in your expression

"Did you drift off into a daydream while I was explaining...?"

You blushed darkly and nodded, using the excuse he so readily gave.

I mean, you couldn't just tell him you were absolutely swooning over him. Especially since there was less than 3ft between you two.

You could tell he wasn't annoyed in the least, he never was with you. At least never not that you could ever tell. And you could feel one's force aura - a vibe check if you will.

"Are you ready to listen this time?" Came the soft chuckle

You nodded your head again.

"I promise I'll be better this time"

This time you'd listen to his carefully comstructed battle plan, you'd listen and give your opinion and then he could inform the men going into the fray with yo-

"Good" he praised and begun to explain once more

'GOOD'?! Your mind reeled at the praise.

He might as well as shot you with a RPS-6 Rocket Launcher, loaded with want, straight to your heart. Your soul was leaving your body for this.

That was it.

You were lost for eternity.

You heard you name and upon checking back into reality, saw Rex frowning at you.

"You just promised me..." he sighed, although the twitch at the corner of his lips told you that he wasn't nearly as mad as he was trying to act

"I'm sorry, Rex" you shrunk a bit in your seat, lips pulling into your mouth between your teeth. "I didn't mean to, I swear"

He stared at you for a minute before he scoffed, rolling his head with his neck.

When he settled back normally, he finally gave in. The smile he'd been fighting down wormed its way onto his lips and creeping up to sparkle in his eyes.

"So, do you want to share what's going on in that mind of yours?" He asked settling the datapad on the table between you both and turning to properly face you

Your cheeks bloom even darker than before, if that was even possible.

"I...uh..." you glanced away.

You couldn't tell Rex...

Tell him that you were entirely snubbing his strategies to oogle his face and drift off into daydreams of instances that could never be. To long for touches you could never share.

There was no way, no way you could ever say such forbidden feelings aloud.

Such an absurd little...infatuation...!

And it was ruining everything!!

Guilt and shame filled you and you shrunk a bit more

"Just..." you drifted off trying to think of something as you felt your heart breaking at your own thoughts.

"Whatever it is, you can tell me" came the hushed, gentle tone you absolutely adored.

His hands reached across the small surface and gingerly snatched your own. Untangling them, he pulled them across the table to settle mid-way. His thumbs rubbed the back of your hands, on the soft flesh there, as his gaze softened with concern.

Concern that made your heart soar more than it already was. Your feelings coming back like a phionix rising from the ashes it just was.

"I..." your gaze met his and you felt tears blur the edges of your vision "I...I can't...Rex, I wish..." you casted your face down and swallowed thickly

"Hey, it's alright" he smiled softly at you, that beautifully tender look you wished was only meant for you "You know...anything you have to say, it'll stay between us."

You peeked up at him, almost timidly

"Right now, I'll just be Rex - not Captain of anything. And you..." he paused, eyes roaming your features "You are just you... not a jedi or a general. Does that help...?"

You nodded and let a small smile sneak onto your face

"That's better" he coaxed, his smile brightening

"I have...words...I..." your tears blurred your view again as your voice wavered "I wish I could express...but...I can't. If I say them out loud...they'll change everything"

Rex nodded and leaned a bit further

"It's always difficult when there are things you want to express, but you can't" he agreed gently

"I'm afraid to say them, Rex" you confessed in a whisper

"Ah, that doesn't sound like my-" he then said your name, with a grin

Your stomach was doing somersaults and vaults all inside your abdomen. You couldn't take it.

You opened your mouth to speak, but before a single sound could make it out...

"I know that I'm just a solider, a clone. And I, admittedly, only know so much about the jedi and their ways. And how everything works for Nat-borns" he let out a self-depricating chuckle "But, I'd like to think that we're close enough that whatever is going on...that you'd allow me to aid you in it. Whatever the burden, I'm here for you. All you need to do is ask"

Your breath hitched.

You hadn't noticed before, because of your own inner turmoil, but...

Rex's last sentance meant something different. Meant something more.

More than the words themselves.

You paid more attention, in that moment, to the emotions about him...and found nothing but warmth and affection. But, it was more so than it had ever been.

Maybe...

Maybe it wasn't as silly as you'd originally thought...

Maybe--

"W-what if I asked you something...that was very un-jedi like" you stammered

"Funny, I don't see any jedi here...just two friends" he teased, going as far as glancing about paat you "Don't see any captains here either, such a strange occurrance..."

You let out a soft giggle at his antics, and shook your head

"There's that smile I love" he beamed

But a slight embaressed panic rose in his signature.

"Rex"

"I-i...uh...that is..." he chuckled as his cheeks flushed "What I meant was"

"Rex," you called to him again, this time he met your gaze "May I ask you the question...?"

He sat up straighter, and nodded

"Anything"

Taking a deep breath, you summoned all your courage.

"Kiss me?"

Rex blinked, once, twice, thrice, in disbeleif. Then leaned in across the small table between you both. But he paused, his forehead practically touching yours

"Are you sure about this...?" his breath fanned across your face, his eyes casted down towards your lips

"More sure than I've been about anything else in my entire life" you whispered in return

Rex's golden gaze flickered up to meet your gaze, glittering with adoration and happiness. But they only met your gaze for a moment before they slid closed and his lips captured your own in the sweetest take-over possible.

A soft groan rumbled from him as you pressed further into his kiss. His hands turned to engulf your own and pull them towards his chest while the last of your unshed tears blotted in your shut lashes.

As your faces tilted, deepening the kiss, you felt one lone, pesky tear glide down the soft flesh of your cheek. Only a moment later did Rex's hand sweep up, thumb wiping the salty streak and caressing the flesh there.

You'd almost forgotten you needed to breathe, when Rex's lips left your own.

His hand, that had been against your cheek, drifted across your chin until the same thumb could swipe across your bottom lip with a feather-like touch...all before he settled back into his seat across from you.

Rex then grinned, more bright and giddy than you'd ever seen before in all the time you'd known him

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that" he said in a dreamy, hushed tone, his eyes trailing across your features and his one hand still holding your own

"I think I have an idea" you countered softly

"Oh, really...?"

"Probably about half as long as I have"

Rex snorted at your cheeky words but lovingly brought your palm to his lips, to place another small kiss there. All the while holding your gaze.

Heat bloomed in your face like a thousand suns.

You changed your mind.

Rex, at the very least, had an inkling on how much control he had over you...
