I am glad you are dead. You turned love into a weapon and used it against me in the worst ways possible. I wish I had never met you, even though you gave me a daughter who I love so dearly. I wish you had died while we searched the ruins of Lion’s Arch. Then I could have still had Taliyah and never felt the growing resentment and dread that came later. Haunt my doorway no longer, ghost. I will speak of you no more.

The small boxes were stacking up in the back room of the shop now, each one hand-wrapped and full of small things she had convinced local merchants to donate. There were pieces of chalk and ribbons, pencils and small stacks of paper, and little apple-flavored candies. Each duck would also give the recipient child a little surprise. 

Milli smiled at the orders, nearly completed for both the Lion’s Arch orphans and those in Lake Doric. She pulled out two pieces of parchment and wrote letters to the two women who would receive them.

Dear Captain Kallisto,

I have excellent news! The toys are nearly completed and packaged. They should be ready for pickup later this week. I have decided I would like to donate my time to your organization and so I have enclosed a bill for the parts only. Also, each package will also contain a small amusement and a piece of candy. I can only hope that these will brighten the day of the children who receive them. Thank you again for this opportunity and please reach out to me if there is anything else I can do to help your cause. Thanks!

Dear Minister Alban,

I am pleased to let you know that I have nearly finished your order of toys for the orphans of Lake Doric. The packages should be ready to pick up from my shop in Lion’s Arch by the end of the week. Each package contains a small amusement and a piece of candy. I hope these provide a bit of light in these dark times for the children of this tragedy. I’ve not seen (or read?) The Last Werewolf, but I think the idea of immortal werewolves is pretty neat. A lot of very old vampire stories are actually mixtures of vampires and werewolves, so it makes a lot of sense that werewolves could be immortal as well.

They would certainly have a harder time concealing themselves. I mean, werewolves have always had that problem. But I’m looking forward to hearing more about your story!

Immortal Werewolves

I have to admit I have quite a soft spot for the notion of werewolves as ancient and immortal beings on par with vampires – similar to their treatment in The Last Werewolf. 

What are your thoughts on it? 

(why, yes, I have a werewolf story waiting in the eaves, whyever did you ask).
