-We may also have sensitivities to certain stimuli. Sounds, smells, textures, etc, that other people don’t notice may be unbearable to someone with Aspergers. (For me this includes mint, most floral smells, I can’t even walk down the cleaner isle at the grocery store without holding my breath)

-Asperger’s can also have an effect on hand/eye coordination and can cause unusual walking/running gaits. (Did you know it’s apparently normal to swing your arms to some degree when walking? I didn’t, and generally don’t.)

-Those with Asperger’s might also tend to take things literally, sarcasm, figures of speech, metaphors, they can be difficult to catch for us. 

-Those with this condition are also known for obsessing on a singular special interest, where they may gain an almost encyclopedic knowledge of said interest.

Basically there’s a lot more to it than not coping well with change (which is difficult! Even small changes can be distressing!), Asperger’s, like other forms of autism, can have an effect on sensory input, mobilization, social skills- and an important thing to note is everyone with this condition or any form of autism is an individual. Everyone presents differently. What doesn’t bother one person might send another into a mental episode. It’s considered a high-functioning form of autism, but that doesn’t mean you can ignore the condition and have things be fine. (I’m rambling so I’m gonna end this here, take care peeps.)

Favorite flower?

Can’t say I really have a favorite kind of flower. Sure, flowers are pretty. But I’m also smell sensitive and large quantities of flowers are overwhelming for me- I gotta be careful with how close I get to the floral display at work. That said, I don’t dislike flowers either. Snap dragons, roses, tulips, daffodils, all flowers have their own charm.
