I wanna show some of you internet lesbians Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise

[IMAGE ID] Twitter user @kiraserpentine's post: "I did not realize Ripley was cannon lesbian and her partner was trans?!?!! I could not love this movie any more!!???" With two images of a post made by user "godimsuchadyke", the first showing Lambert and Ripley sitting next to eachother and the second one showing text reading: "Ridley Scott's "Alien" is not only one of the greatest horror films of all time, it is more simply one of the greatest films. It is essential Halloween viewing and as I've said before Ellen Ripley was intended to be read as a lesbian, note the rainbow patches. She was also originally written as a man, to quote the incredible @realleadelaria, "The reason this film is one of the best and underrated feminist vehicles ever is this: in both the book and original screenplay Ripley is a man. They cast Sigourney and did not change a single line or frame." Here she is pictured with her crew mate and lover Joan Lambert. Their relationship was erased from the film with any scenes addressing the nature of their relationship edited out, but in the script they were written as being in an out lesbian relationship. However it remains revolutionary in its inclusion of such a complex and strong female lead. In the film "Aliens" it was also revealed that Lambert was transgender. In the crew dossier from the original mission her biographical information stated, "Subject is Despin Convert at birth (male to female). So far no indication of suppressed traumas related to gender
alteration"
