Shore leave!!...
(made this a while ago haha)
Kirk, to Spock’s Katra: That’s a beautiful Doctor you’re wearing.
Spock’s Katra, inside Bones: Thanks, it has pockets
Trektober prompt day 19: Decontamination

CLEAN HIM!!!

I know this is just based on one word „insanity“, but the way Kirk is so intrigued when Spock warns him of it - I just picture Sturgeon sitting there writing like „oh yes, Spock and Kirk, watch out for that strange insanity“
Later episodes like Obsession took inspiration from Moby Dick, so it exists as an influence on the show- maybe Sturgeon took from it earlier.
[And side note: the first chapters of Moby Dick have two guys sharing a bed BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY ONE BED LEFT]
Maybe this is reaching but anyone else think about THAT scene in Moby Dick, when Spock talks about his Pon Farr insanity in Amok Time
You know Moby Dick, the book famous for its queer subtext
Oh and I just found out Theodore Sturgeon was a sailor LOL pretty sure he read that book
