Because I’m delusional and living a bit of a hermit lifestyle rn with nothing better to do I’ve gone back and looked over the leaked ElMike video a few times, and then watched about an hour of content on how to read lips. And.. I swear to god he very clearly says the word “friends”. And “be” before it. Vowels are hard but you can clearly see the lip movements for ‘f’ and ‘ds’.

I’m not sure if anyone still cares about the video anymore or believes that it’s useful but if y’all want I can really have more of a crack at it. 0% chance I can transcribe the entire thing but I’ve been able to make out a few other words as well no I’ll provide side by sides

Not the same anon but I personally think that Mike won't directly jump from El to Will especially when you know that around episode 2-3 you will get a time jump of a few years. I think it would be cool to let Byler take their time to correctly build their relationship but at the same time, it shouldn't be left completely up to interpretation in the sense that people shouldn't be like : "there is a possibility that they won't end up together". Either way, it will give a reason to certain people to open their mouths to say : "Will and Mike are just to h*rny boys who are friends with benefits. They aren't endgame". If the Duffers didn't lie about them closing all the arcs of their characters even if it means rushing some things that would take years to be solved irl then I believe that we will get at least 85% of the answers to the questions season 4 introduced.

No matter what happens, homophobes are going to be mad and looking for reasons to discount/disparage byler. That's why I don't care about the reception. I want the writing to be good, because that is what's going to last.

Byler can't rush. That's miIeven's deal. That's miIeven's achilles' heel. Byler needs to talk and take it slow. An established relationship is the new adventure that's just beginning at the end of the show. Un-established byler carries the momentum of their arcs through the finale after the big bads are defeated/when everything is being put back together. If byler are already established, you lose your momentum for their characters.

If they wanted to do a bunch of episodes with established byler, they would have started that process already.

I’m finally able to share a piece I worked on last year for a byler/stranger things DnD themed zine that unfortunately got cancelled.

Regardless I had a lot of fun with this one, and my dnd/history nerd heart was quite happy while working on this.

I am a sucker for quiet moments so I wanted to make something about prepping for the next big battle (with a Thessalhydra mayhaps?), or something like that.

A lot of artists have made a lot of great pieces for it, so keep an eye out for some really great dnd art popping up in the tag.
