A darkness creeps under the skin

Long legged spiders on walls, it crawls

If the skin the wall, then the chest within man’s soul-full hall

Holds the heart, the beast, the filth

It goes thus far without a name

From this thing of hell and sky

Outward do its minions fly

The dark of night doth heed its way

Until all feel its cruel will’s sway

Your cheeks betray and flush with shame

For dark is night but darker still

Is but the mark of its working mill

The work is laid and strung and played

On strings of frenzied, dampened twill

With eldritch harps of golden band

For cruel is death and vicious pain

But nothing dare impeach its reign

For all that paint beneath its mane

Forget the compass inside their name

At this the beast will show its hand.

It starts as fire inside the womb

And then the stomach transforms: a tomb

For the butterflies after their bloom,

And the dread waves in with anxious spume

The filth is is sized up to the moon.

See a smile and gaze about

Feel the guts almost burst out

And seething worms under the pout

The arms of it hold on, devout

The wretch is set, yearning to croon.

To speak its name is to give it life

But leave the word and it grows a knife

For this wanton trap starts in strife.

If given choice to start this rife

Do not dare to take the fall

The start of this is the want all

The hurt of ending is its call

Ignore the pain, the fear, the wall

But know this warning, hear the truth:

Love, sweet love, it conquers all.
