Reminder that if you write or draw and don't have a lot of followers, you are still valid and loved in the community! Even if you don't get a lot of interaction, you are still wanted! There will always be at least one person who will look at what you created and will go, "Oh they wrote/drew that just for me." And they will cherish it forever.
Your creations are worth sharing. I may not know you but I love you, and I love what you create. Keep going.
whimsy is a powerful tool. you can focus on anything you want, you can devote time to thinking about how the weather is bad, or how it sucks having to work for a living, or whatever else

i know that some folks love telling creative people that “you should be doing it for fun because you love it not for the compliments” but creative people thrive on feedback whether it’s critical or just complimentary
so when i write fanfiction and don’t get any actual feedback i feel like i spent all that time and energy doing it for nothing because i’m not getting feedback from the people i wrote it for
doing something you’re proud of and then presenting it to the sound of utter silence is like the worst feeling on earth

“why would you write fics for small, unpopular fandoms? you’re not gonna reach that many hits in fandoms not many people know about” ?? because I’m not writing fics for hits or kudos, I’m writing them for me because these characters are my blorbos and I have so many ideas, so much thoughts about them that my brain might explode if I don’t write them out.
