WARNINGS: Reader’s shorter than Jack (bro is 192cm/6’3”. That’s heckin tall). Reader is also a bit clingy hehe but it’s all very wholesome and fluffy dw. Sorry if it’s a little short!

“Stay.” You looked up at Jack from your position at his side on the couch. He froze as you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him a little closer. “Please?”

Jack hesitated, splotches of pink painted across his face.

“It’s been too long since we hung out,” you pouted, tightening your grip around him. “Could we just stay like this today? No homework or club business or anything? Please?” 

This is a trap. Jack thought, as he looked down at you. Your face was so cute. It… shouldn’t hurt to take an afternoon off, right? He bit his lip. He’s got that project from Crewel and that assignment from Trein he really ought to do, not to mention track practice… 

“Pleeasseee?”

Jack sighed. He couldn’t win. He shifted so he was facing you, gently wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his head in the crook of your neck, his tail wagging slightly. 

“Alright.” He mumbled, his breath tickling your skin. You hummed excitedly and shifted to a more comfortable position.

Jack hummed and pulled you closer. His cheeks were so warm, he was glad you couldn’t see them. He was so weak to you, it didn’t make sense. He knew he liked you - he wouldn’t have asked you out otherwise. He didn’t expect you to have him so totally wrapped around your finger like this.

Jack looked at your position in his arms. You seemed to fit perfectly. He smiled, feeling a blush spread to his cheeks. Maybe he didn’t mind it so much after all.

You hated your alarm clock. 

Typically, on a day such as this, your alarm clock blaring meant that it was time to get out of the warm comfort of your bed and get ready for school, before beginning the process of dragging Grim out of bed. 

But not today, you thought, slamming the stop button on the clock. It was Saturday. 

And Saturday meant you could sleep in. 

Pulling the covers back over your head, you smiled sleepily and closed your eyes. Everything planned for the day could wait. Right now, it was time for some much needed rest. 

Until someone banged on the door.

You groaned and shoved your pillow over your head. Ace and Deuce could wait. You were not prepared to sacrifice your precious morning just to drag those two out of trouble. 

And yet, the knocking didn’t stop. 

“Oi, Prefect! Open up!”

Wait, that didn’t sound like Ace or Deuce. 

Reluctantly, you dragged yourself out of bed and stumbled to the door. Unlocking it quickly, you threw the door open, planning to deal with whoever it was quickly and go back to sleep. 

However, it seems like fate had other plans for you that day. 

“Hey, Prefect.” Your boyfriend, Ruggie Bucchi leaned against the doorframe, grinning. His grin grew wider as he took in your appearance. “Did I wake you up? Sorry.” 

At least he had the decency to sound contrite, you thought grumpily. “It’s fine, what do you need?”

He chuckled and held up a basket. “I got some food, wanna have a picnic?”

You groaned internally. Why’d Ruggie have to pick today of all days? “You mean right now…?” 

“Yup! This morning’s the only time I have off all day. Figured the best way to spend it would be with my darlin’ Prefect. Shishishi.” He laughed and flashed a mischievous smile.

He’s enjoying this way too much, you thought grumpily. 

You chewed the inside of your mouth, hesitating. On the one hand, you loved your new boyfriend dearly. On the other hand, you’d really been looking forward to this…

You sighed, decision made. “Alright Ruggie, just let me get dressed and I’ll be down.”

He grinned. “Sweet, thanks Prefect. See you in a minute?”

You nodded, smiling. “Yeah, I’ll be back in a sec.”

You turned and made your way up the stairs, leaving the door open in case he wanted to wait inside. You hummed to yourself. This wasn’t the way you’d planned to spend your morning, but you found yourself more energised and excited about the day than you had been before. Maybe that had something to do with the cute boy waiting downstairs that knew just what to say to get your heart to beat faster.
