I realized something about why Farcille works because of a post criticising Shuro/Toshiro's way of viewing Falin and Laios. That he fell in love with her 'quirky' traits that he hated Laios. And it's not like that with Marcille, because she doesn't love the weird monster eater parts of Falin that she shares with Laios. She is fully aware that the woman she loves is a weirdo, she doesn't even like those parts of her necessarily.
