Foolish One can be connected to many other Taylor songs but the connection that sticks out the most to me is with Speak Now (song) with the lyrics “Cause you got her on your arm and me in the wings, I'll get your longing glances, but she'll get your ring” which can directly be the prelude to the entire speak now (song).

Rep came out when I was being bullied and it was my only saviour, Lover when I was hopelessly in love, folklore when all I needed was an escape and evermore during a cold, bleak winter. Even the re-recordings, fearless tv right around the time I was losing sight of myself, red tv came at a very low time and boosted me so much! Midnights came during the last month of uni and I got to vibe with my swiftie BFFs and now speak now tv... right when I lost all hope in love and dreams, right when my friends and I had our farewell trip...

I can’t stop thinking about the lyric parallels and the manifestation caused by castle’s crumbling, mean and long live.

On one hand we have “someday I’ll be long enough so you can’t hit me”… we all know how that turned out to be so drastically true!

Then there’s “if god forbid fate should step in…” and “… please tell ‘em my name” to “ask me why so many fade but I’m still here”

She manifested and worked tf hard for these. But the on other side of the scale you also have “I feel like my castle’s crumbling down and I watch all my bridges burn to the ground”… the anxiety of this happening led her straight to “my castle crumbled over night” and “bridges burned I never learned”.
