Anyway, I definitely agree with you, the book definitely makes the first person more obvious, it can be very hard to get that across in film format. I agree again about it mostly being underage girls. Unfortunately, people can find comfort in something they relate to. Especially if nobody tells them they're interpreting it wrong and they're surrounded by people who view it the same way they do.

I agree with this as well. The way Dolores acts in that scene, it makes zero sense to me how someone can see that and think yes, these two are so in love with each other!! And I never considered it, but you're probably right. It's sad to know some of them only see a severely romanticized and glorified version of it.
