tips for how to live a kind life

1) don’t say mean things about people, behind their backs or to their face. it’s not cool to be inconsiderate of others’ feelings. ignore people who want you to participate in talking badly about others, even if you are not fond of that person.

2) speak gently with a full heart.

3) be perceptive of others’ trauma, daily struggles, disabilities, and insecurities.

4) treat animals with tender respect.

5) don’t act out irrationaly towards the people you love. before you lash out, think about the consequences towards their feelings that would follow.

6) always remember that the positive energy you put out will come back to you.

Beltane Recipes with Correspondences and Vegan Alternatives

Beltane Recipes With Correspondences And Vegan Alternatives

Honey Oat Bread

Ingredients:

- 1 cup milk (almond or soy for vegan or dairy free)

- 2 tbsps unstated butter or margarine

- ¼ cup honey (agave for vegan)

- ¼ cup water, lukewarm

- 2 ¼ tsps instant yeast

- 3 cups all-purpose flour

- ¾ cup oats (instant or old fashioned)

- 1 ½ tsp salt

For topping:

- 1 ½ - 2 tbsps honey, warmed (agave for vegan)

- 1 ½ -2 tbsps oats

Directions:

- In a small bowl heat the milk so that it is warm enough to melt the butter, but not boiling. Add the butter, stirring until melted, then stir in the water and honey.

- Stir the yeast into the mixture and let sit for 15 minutes until bubbly.

- In a large bowl, or the bowl of a standing mixer, combine the flour, oats, and salt.

- Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture, mixing with a dough hook or spoon until it just comes together to form a dough. Knead in the mixer or by hand for 10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.

- Cover the bowl with a clean dry towel and allow to rise until doubled, about ½ to 1 hour.

- Once doubled, with your fingers, flatten the dough into a 9 by 12-inch rectangle. Tightly roll the dough, tucking the ends as needed, into a loaf. Place the shaped dough into a lightly greased 9×5-inch loaf pan, cover with a clean dry towl, and allow to rise until doubled, about ½ to 1 hour.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees (180 C). Place an empty loaf pan on the bottom rack of the oven and bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

- When the loaf is doubled again, brush the top with the warmed honey and sprinkle with the oats.

- Place the bread in the oven and pour the boiling water into the empty loaf pan on the bottom rack of the oven. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until the bread is deep golden brown and the internal temperature is about 190 degrees.

- Transfer to a wire cooling rack and allow to cool completely before serving.

Lemon Chamomile Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients:

- 2 cups salted butter or margarine, very soft

- 1 cup powdered sugar

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- ½ cup cornstarch

- 3 cups all-purpose flour

- 3 tsps lemon zest

- 3 tsps loose chamomile tea

Directions:

- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Lighty grease three baking sheets.

- Using a hand-held electric beater, cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla until very creamy.

- Gradually beat in the cornstarch and flour.

- Beat in the lemon zest and chamomile. Continue to beat the batter for a full 10 minutes until it looks like slightly overbeaten whipped cream (see notes).

- Drop the batter by heaping tablespoons onto the prepared cookie sheets.

- Bake the cookies for approximately 15-20 minutes. Remove the cookies from the oven just as they start to brown on the bottoms.

- Let the shortbread cookies cool on the cookie sheet for at least 10 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack to finish cooling. Do be careful when moving them as they will fall apart if you transfer them too soon.

Notes:

- If you use a stand-mixer instead of a hand held electric beater, the cookies will fall flat. If you want to use your stand mixer, please make sure to reduce the time you mix the batter.

Calm Before the Storm Jar Spell

⚡️A hex to create a growing sense of unease.

You Will Need:

A Jar

Storm Water

Black Pepper

A Piece of Paper and a Writing Instrument

A Candle (Suggested Color: Black)

Suggested: Center and Ground yourself to infuse more energy and intent into the hex. Shield yourself to protect yourself as you work and cast the hex.

⛈Fill your jar with your stormwater and black pepper. Use intuitive amounts of pepper. You may feel a dash is sufficient but feel free to be liberal with the pepper.

⛈Take the paper and write out the name of your target. In a fire safe bowl, burn the paper with the name. Add the ashes to your jar.

⛈Seal the jar with your candle.

⛈Repeat the following:

A storm is coming,

One thou can’t see.

Coming quickly,

Frightening thee.

Feel its might in thine bones,

Whispering air and trembling stones.

No breath at ease for trouble is near,

Thine every thought consumed by fear.

Speculate and theorize,

The secret storm behind thine eyes.

⛈Give the jar a good shake to activate it. Anytime you’d like to refresh or strengthen the effect, give the jar another good shaking.

quick and simple jinx/hex for when someone fucks you over 🥀

Quick And Simple Jinx/hex For When Someone Fucks You Over

this isn’t necessarily for when you have specific intentions for the person (eg. for them to feel guilt) but rather for when you need to express your anger and want for the person to get what they deserve.

you will need:

- black candle (justice)

- salt (banishing negativity)

- water

- the person who you’re jinxing’s name on a piece of white paper in black pen (as a taglock)

- optional: a tiny bit of blood (to represent the hurt they’ve caused you)

side note - this is better performed when the moon is in last quarter because that’s when banishing spells are best or on a new moon to represent new beginnings!

method:

1. fill a glass with some water and add salt. wait for it to dissolve.

2. smear the blood on the paper with the name

3. hold the paper and place the edge into the flame

4. just before the flame reaches your fingers, drop it into the salt water

5. optional: give a massive middle finger at the water & paper. it’s very cathartic.

6. blow out the candle and tip the water down a sink.

quick disclaimer: I am not responsible for any harm caused by this hex (or if it comes back three fold). please be safe both with your intentions and when casting. make sure you don’t do this hex around any flammable surfaces or materials.

I hope this helps you with whatever pain you’re going through or at least gives you a bit of relief. ❤️

20 Tips to being a Safe Witch

image

Altar Safety

When burning anything always keep a glass of water near you, unless you are working with burning oils, then keep a fire extinguisher or baking soda on hand.

When working with essential oils(EO), do not burn them they are highly flammable

Never leave anything burning unattended, be it a burn bowl, candle, incense. DON’T LEAVE IT!

Please remove anything flammable such as paper or string from the candle, it will ignite and you will be alarmed.

Make sure that what you’re burning your candle in is fire safe, metal and cast iron are good bets. Do NOT burn in a glass, if you have to put it out and dump water on it, it will explode.

Make sure you tie back loose hair and don’t have any floppy sleeves or necklaces to get in the way.

When putting out a candle it is best to use a candle snuffer and do not use water.

Don’t burn kitchen sage, it gives off a toxic smoke. Not something you wanna inhale.

Essential Oil Safety

Please, please dilute them properly. I have a chemical burn scar I can never get rid of due to undiluted cinnamon bark oil. The proper dilution is one drop per teaspoon.

Never ingest EO, there are some that are now generally recognized as safe by the FDA, but the quality of EO are not regulated. Who knows what a bad quality EO could do to your internal organs, not something I wanna test.

Essential Oils are photosensitive, meaning they deteriorate in light store them in a dark area to prevent them from spoiling.

DO NOT put them near on your skin and get in the sun or a tanning bed, especially citrus oils, they will blister.

Water will not dilute essential oils, only other oils(canola, olive, sweet almond, olive will all dilute). If you want to use them in a bath it is one drop per a teaspoon of oil.

Please seek medical attention if anything seems off after using EO, they seem harmless but can be very dangerous

Pets can be very sensitive to essential oils(particularly cats) and it is almost impossible to cover all my bases here. The sources provided below have some great resources.

Always go by the scientific name, German and Roman chamomile are very different products.

Kitchen Magic Safety

Wear shoes if you’re doing anything, I nearly lost a toe the other day cause I dropped a knife. I got lucky I was wearing boots.

Wear correct clothing, and tie back hair. No matter if you have a gas, electric or induction stove, I’ve caught a lab coat sleeve on fire thanks to a torch while making a creme brulee.

Use your knives correctly, learn about the pinch grip and use the correct knife for the job. Using a paring knife for chopping potatoes is asking for trouble. There are tons of videos online, I like the ones from Alton Brown and Jamie Oliver.

As a side note use sharp knives, a blunt knife will do more damage than a sharp one.

Don’t leave knives in the sink, someone could begin to wash dishes and cut themselves.

Watch the steam. Steam can give a worse burn than dry heat, open pot lids away from you and don’t stick your face and phalanges in steam.

Don’t leave food products unattended.

Use your damn pot holders, they protect you and your counters.

Store raw meat on the lowest shelves, and never store cooked meat on the same shelf

Wash your hands before, wash your hands after handling raw meats, wash your hands after.

Don’t leave food that is meant to be cold or hot out for more than 2 hours, this is to decrease foodborne illness.

When using the store turn handles in, to keep yourself from bumping them off the stove.

Cook meats to proper temps(there is a chart in the sources)

If you are using herbs be sure to use kitchen grade herbs, those that are not kitchen grade are not held up to the same purity standards and could have more pesticide residue.

Herbal Safety

Please be aware a lot of herbs can work against prescription medications, or should only be taken in very specific doses( St. John’s Wort I’m looking at you.) Check in with your doctor or a licensed herbalist or naturopath before ingesting herbs.

Crystal Safety

Identify your crystals, some are water solvent some are not and it matters

Some that aren’t safe in water include malachite and selenite. They have copper and if aren’t sealed they can become toxic. There is no way to know for sure if it was sealed or not keep -ite crystals dry as a good rule of thumb.

Some crystals fade in sunlight like rose quartz, amethyst and citrine, in order to prevent fading try cleansing them with sound, flower petals, moonlight and energy.

Let me teach you to get anything you want

How to have anything you want

If it’s not obvious already, I’m a very spiritual person and I practice witchcraft as well. Because of this I learned something I’m sure most of us have heard before:

The Law of Attraction

And luckily for us, now our society is less aggressive towards spirituality so it’s way easier to discover and use this law in a daily basis. Before I tell you how to use it and how beneficial it is let me tell you wtf is the law of attraction.

What it is

There are many universal laws, one of them is the Law of Attraction that says we attract similar frequencies to us. For the ones that are not into spirituality, that means you attract things that are similar to what you are! Some people as myself believe the universe have different levels of frequencies, the higher are the most positive (happiness, love, peace) while the lowest are not the best (anger, jealousy, depression) so the law says if you’re in a high frequencie you’ll attract things such as happiness while if you’re in a low frequencie you’ll attract things such as rage.

How it has helped me

You need to understand you can attract ANYTHING and let me use a really dumb example that happened to me some time ago. I was talking to my best friend about how much I wanted fries, and it told her I WANTED fries and the rest of the day I only thought about fries.

The next day my mother bought fries for me without me asking, and before you say “well duh, mcdonalds”, no, my family doesn’t eat fast foods so it was not usual and it made myself happy. I know it’s not like attracting a car, but it was something I truly wanted and the universe gave it to me. Through this method I manifested 1k followers on my other tumblr account, A+ grades, a better relationship with my sister, food (mainly food), and etc, so why not give it a try-

How to use the it

Okay first identify a goal, like… loosing weight right- and idk what method you might like more (writing, talking, thinking) repeat it with positive affirmations and trust that the universe will give it. Imagine you already have it. There are hundreds of ways of using the law of attraction (also called manifestation) on social media, there’s this great book that is my main source of information (ill leave it below) that is only dedicated to this topic alright.

My favorite method is having a notebook and every night writing positive affirmations about my goals, example:

The universe helps me with everything I want.

The universe helps me with everything I want.

The universe helps me with everything I want.

And now now imagine it written 50 times. Yes it’s tiring, but it have helped my life in so many ways!

Things not to do

Okay so this is a basic rule, DON’T ATTRACT SPECIFIC PEOPLE OMFG. So, yes, you can attract people, you can make someone your gf/bf/whatever and that’s wrong. By attracting someone you’re basically making them date you, is like tying them without their consent and that is absolutely a huge no.

You should also be grateful for what you already have, like the universe and yourself decided what tf did you give to yourself (because even if you like it or not, you are always using the law of attraction, even if you don’t know it) and is like a brat saying no to a gift. ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL or you won’ attract shit.

Don’t use negative affirmations. NEVER USE THEM, for the ones that don’t understand what’s that… well basically is smth like this: I won’t suffer. And here is an example of a positive affirmation that will help because the other one is useless and won’t attract anything positive: I will be calmed. I will be in peace. By putting all your feelings into something you don’t want instead of taking it away from your life you’ll attract it to yourself and that sucks! So don’t even dare to use that because you’re doing a major harm to yourself. You should also not stop working, yes, law of attraction will help you in many things but that doesn’t mean you have to quit and leave your job! No bro, it takes actions to things to happen, the universe is just helping you… so please keep working and believe!

What to use when in Witchcraft -

Ok so I am gonna say this is my personal reference, its mainly through associations. You might TOTALLY disagree and thats chill!

Its more something to think about and a guideline of what I use myself…

Candle Magic:

Carve a candle when…. the candle represents the target, in sympathetic magic. When, essentially, the candle is a poppet and lighting it is a symbol of destruction or empowerment to the target.

Place something under the candle or before it when… you are doing general candle magic, when the candle represents empowering a wish, idea or concept.

Anoint the candle when… doing work with spirits and gods, when you mark the candle for a special purpose, when doing high magic.

Herbs and plant work:

Use dry herbs when… it is convienent to do so, when the herbs are out of season or when you need to store them in a jar or bottle for a long time.

Use fresh herbs when… the spell is very earth orientated, when doing magic on behalf of another or when the magic is sympathetic so that the herbs represent the target, within kitchen witchery.

Use flowers when… when the spell concerns love and sex, or perhaps fertility and attraction, due to flowers being the reproductive parts of the plant.

Use fruit when when… working with children as a target, or with children practising. When you work with fertility and abundance spells.

Use wood and twigs when… when the spell is for protection or binding, for hardiness.

Burn herbs (recaning/incense) when… you wish to cleanse or banish, or invoke an atmosphere - that being, for divination using herbs that are said to open up your perceptions, when banishing, burning acrid or pungent herbs.

Use oil infusions when… you wish to anoint something, when you wish to mark something permanently.

Use floral waters (rose water etc) when… dealing with spirits and gods, for glamour as it has a long history of being used to beautify.

Crystals:

Use metals (haematite, copper, ores etc..) when… you work in protection, when you do energy work due to the conductive properties of metal.

Use shell, pearl, coral and such when… you work in sea magic, when you work within emotional magic due to the element of water.

Use points when… you wish to direct magic to a target.

Use tumble stones when… you wish the magic to be gentle or manifest at a certain place on the body on a target.

Use geodes when… you work in protection, when you work with glamour aimed to obscure and hide.

Knot magic:

Use cotton when… it is convenient.

Use silk when… doing spells that benefit the target.

Use ribbons when… love spells and wealth spells, as well as confidence and beauty spells. Spells to ensure victory.

Use rope when… doing spells that aim to hurt or weaken the target, binding especially.

Poppets:

Use cloth when… the spell aims to benefit who the poppet represents, use particular care when sewing or cutting, choose colours that are appropriate to them.

Use wax when… you wish to manipulate the target.

Use clay when… wish to create fetches or servitors, when you wish to create permanency.

Use twigs when… you wish to bury or throw the poppet out, when you want the poppet to be easily destroyed by breaking or setting on fire.

Sigils:

Use an alphabet grid or circle when… you wish the sigil to be more random and less attached to you.

Combine the shapes of letters from a sentence… when your sigil is very specific and a short term goal.

Use your own personal symbols when… you want the magic to be connected to you, when it is personal.

Each of the four classical Elements is associated with one of the four cardinal directions; North, East, South and West.

There are also energetic associations, that add great depth to interpretations of how people with different zodiac signs interact with each other, for each sign is associated with an Element, and each Element is different.

Magickal Properties of: Rose

Magickal Properties Of: Rose

Scientific Names:

There are over 300 species of roses, with more than 1000 cultivars. Roses are believed to have first been cultivated in China, historically dating back to 5000 years. The following seem to be the most common varieties that are sold as oils or marketed for magickal use. However, this is only speculation and may not be entirely accurate.

Rosa Gallica - Also known as the French Rose or Apothecary Rose, it is native to southern and central Europe. It is believed that this rose variety was first cultivated by the Greek’s and Romans.

Rosa Centifolia - This type of rose is also sometimes called the Cabbage Rose.

Rosa Damascena - Also known as the Damask Rose or Rose of Castile.

Most Rose oil is derived from the Rosa Centifolia and Damascena varieties. Although they differ a bit in color and fragrance, they share similar properties and uses. Rose oil is also quite expensive. For magickal purposes, it is more economical to use fresh roses or dried rose petals.

Correspondences

Gender: Feminine

Element: Water

Astrological: Venus, Taurus

Deities: Isis, Hathor, Aphrodite, Demeter, Eros, Hulda, Aurora

Symbolism for Divination or Spell Associations: Love, Fertility, Romance, Protection, Beauty, Luck, Joy, Emotions

Uses

Use in sachets, spell bottles, teas, incense blends, anointing oils, to dress a candle, in a bath.

Use in spells for healing, love, peace, protection, beauty, to avoid conflict, to calm stress and to resolve problems peacefully.

A single rose placed inside a glass of water on an altar can be used as a singular, but powerful focus for a spell.

Use rose petals in a bath to encourage beauty, healing and to attract love.

Carry rose petals in a sachet for protection.

Sprinkle rose petals in the home or around a space to resolve conflict and calm upheavals.

Roses planted in a garden are said to attract faeries.

Rose petals blended into a tea can induce prophetic dreams and assist with divination.

Use rose thorns to carve sigils into candles to enhance the spell.

Notes

If you are going to drink rose as a tea, or burn it as an incense, be sure to research thoroughly and buy your roses at food grade quality from a reputable source. Not all roses are grown for consumption and may have been exposed to dangerous pesticides and/or chemicals to help preserve them once cut. If you ingest roses that have been treated with chemicals, they may irritate the digestive tract.

Rose water is very good for the skin.

Roses also carry correspondences with spiritual enlightenment in some sacred traditions.

Start something new // it could be as simple and low key as starting a new book or as adventurous and complex as starting a new relationship.

Spell work // I personally recommend spells that involve healing, purifying, luck, and shielding.

Rest and reflect

Protect yourself, your home with a ward.

Things that work well:

Moonstone, opal, obsidian

Rosemary, lavender, lemon, thyme

Cedar, oak

Daisy, iris, dandelion

Black, gold, white, silver

I hope this is helpful and inspires you of all! Have a great new moon // 🌑✨
